There are many liberals who dislike Olbermann despite agreeing with him on the issues. I can respect that because I feel the same way about Ed Schultz. But I actually do like Keith. I think that he's intelligent, witty and is able to clearly explain the stories which he reports on. I get that he's pompous and arrogant, but I guess I can overlook that. He's passionate about what he believes, and Our Side will be loosing a very valuable asset: an unrepentant liberal in a very visible position.

Amazing, what you Olbermann-haters miss, when all you come on here to do is repeat the tired old Fox lines. Olbermann was trying to defuse the situation by saying Hoyer had been "listening to US go off at the mouth here," trying to characterize the whole thing as too much ado about nothing--essentially _reducing_ the distance between himself and Matthews. Who knows why Matthews took it wrong, but the hours are very long and the pressure high at an event like that.

I'm not saying they're not biased (both FOX and MSNBC are), but it's just about grabbing niche market share. This is actually worse than old school partisanship in some ways, at least if they were partisan JOURNALISTS they would feel somewhat beholden to the truth - but they knowingly report on fallacies and straw man arguments because of ratings.

PBS is almost always found to be right down the middle in most research on bias.
ABC, CBS and NBC tend to be very slightly to the left.
