No American could EVER get a fair trial in Iraq. If they passed a law that said these contractos are subject to Iraqi law, every one of them would quit. To get replacements these companies would lower their standards for hiring, and you would then have serious problems.

BTW, they are DOD (Department of Defense) contractors. They fall under all DOD rules and regulations. They cannot just go out and murder people for fun like everyone seems to think they do.

Blackwater is needed because our troops on the ground, many coming from the Army Reserve and the National Guard and not properly trained to do the job. I joined the National Guard in 1972. I was given 3 months of combat training and then told I was ready to go to war. Many of our troops are shaking in their combat boots and rightfully so. We couldn't stop the Los Angeles riots for days. How long will it take to clean up the mess we made in Iraq, a country of about 20 million?
