Same here. I never had this problem in the beta. The sound will go mute(except voices) and then magically return. Running GTX580, quad core processor, and Creative Titanium X-fi audio. Hopefully get a patch out soon.
@SoldierT105 Yep exactly the same here. And what bothers me is that people insist its my system specs or that I need to run low... I HAVE VIDEOS OF THIS ISSUE HAPPENING ON LOW! And people with fantastic rigs such as yours are still experiencing this issue. This is bad coding and bad memory management due to bad code that needs to be fixed. And its not just the driver because no matter what driver version I use, it still happens. So it is a problem with the GAME.
@TheCrazyLinkUno Are you still having these issues? I haven't had any issues with sound anymore. One tip I did do a while back and could have helped is in "sound" in your windows, go to your speaker and set the sound quality to 16 bit DVD. I am going to put it back to normal as of now just to test it out. Only problems I ever have with the game now is server disconnect problems and "bf3.exe has stopped working" occasionally. These issues are definitely on DICE's end.
@TheCrazyLinkUno Sorry to hear about that. I fixed all my server disconnect problems, sound issues, and "bf3.exe stopped working" issues with this fix. First, from Origin, go to >settings>general...then check the box that says "Update to the pre-release version if available." Then restart origin, which will install an update to BF3 and Origin. Last, right click BF3 in Origin and hit "repair install." When I did this a second time, it installed a 48mb patch. Since then, no problems at all.
This is my problem as well.. Steps I habve done that seem to help:
- Entering the following into console:
RenderDevice.ForceRenderAheadLimit 1
RenderDevice.TripleBufferingEnable 0
- Turning off Ultra texture settings
- And Setting BF3.exe to a high priority in task manager.
All of these steps excluding the graphics change need to be done every time you start BF3

I have already done all these types of fixes, and to no avail. Thanks though.
