Nighttime in this game remind me when I went to scout camp. I was carried one flashlight and going to toilet at 1 A.M. Toilet is near forest and very dark. There are scary noises from forest. I don't know what is that noise. One year later, I play this game and I say "OMG this game is like my scout camp!"

@Erlan79 I guess because it's because of bit better level design. Take a look on Great Swamp, it's masterpiece, I still have images and sounds of it stucked in my head. Same goes for Limansk and Red Forest. Pure immersion and realistic feeling. In CoP wasteland maps felt odd, lot's of awesome and overblowed small locations randomly throwed around large boring enviorment.

Not anymore, fortunately, but GSC did announce it's closure just a few weeks ago and everyone thought Stalker 2 would be cancelled. But from what GSC stated recently, the compnay will go on and so would Stalker 2. Thanks goodness.

Its a town very close to Chernobyl which was evacuated and ultinately abandoned at the time of the incident in 1986. Everything was left where it was-contaminated beyond redemption.....and not just cars, buses and houses, but huge barges on the river Pripyat and vast mining machines just left there to rust. Recently men were sent into the zone to examine the conditions and level of radiation, so although C.O.P is a work of fiction, it is based on real life events.

I love when I'm wandering around in the zone in the middle of the night, everything is pitch-black, and then suddenly, I see the light from a campfire far far away. I head towards taht direction, and after 4-5 minutes I find myself together with three other stalkers, one of them is playing guitar. When I find those groups, I always use to stay there for a while before I continue my journey..

@Dsharpe25 You could always download Complete 2009. It really improves the graphics without changing the tone or gameplay. The game itself is about $8 on steam currently. Though you may want to play the first 2 games first, Shadow of Chernobyl(Often considered the best of the series) and Clear Sky(Its a prequel to Shadow of Chernobyl).

Meanwhile, the main protagonist tries to team all factions together to fight back. And if americans are in the game, american weapons will be added, for example Magnum. What do you think?

@11033066099 at the begining you are limited to one area, after that you can acces all 3 areas in the center of the "zone" it is a big game, sorta like fallout3 but you controll it. Say, in the last mission, I gotta go with a convoy somewhere. I can kill em all and still do the mission, but it affects the ending.

Moreover dangerous elements are concentrated mainly in the dust and soil, location in open terrain is relatively safe) . I live in Kyiv , right behind of that place , anyone can get on an official tour only for 60$(guides and vehicles are included).
