  • Second, this is what you are fighting for opportunity and change! I support the idea of this movement but change doesn't happen by camping out in tents and complaining. Become an active member of society, contribute, work, work hard at whatever you can, no job is beneath anyone! This country was built on people having a strong work ethic...that is what's been lost. Graduating from college doesn't mean that you don't have to start at the bottom somewhere and work hard to get where you want to be

  • First, I am a server, not because I have to be but because I choose to be. So don't you dare dismiss my job by saying that you could do it but you choose not to because, what? you're too good? You have skills that wouldn't be utilized? I graduated from BU with a Political Science degree, yet I choose to work in a restaurant, I work hard and I love my job. Most people don't have careers in the field that they studied in college, you're not a child being asked what he wants to be when he grows up.

  • I didn't find this video very informative. My take on this movement is that there is a sense of frustration over matters ranging from the burden placed on taxpayers without their consent to fund corporate/government agendas that do not represent the interests of the people, to the consolidation of wealth and widespread abuses of power that have been taking place in America for some time but have simply become apparent to more of us lately. Doesn't sound so bad to me...

  • 17 attempted suicides a day by these Vets. IT'S SHAMEFUL we do little or NOTHING for them. We did the same dam thing to the Vietnam vets. Now we got Iraq vets living in the streets, to????!!!??. When the fuck are we going to really together and make some serious fucking changes???

  • @gracewriter I'm a vet, a student, and have a job. The system is much better than Vietnam but you will always have some people struggle. The programs are out there you just have to put in some effort. The system sucks yes, but its NOT like Vietnam. I know people who struggle for a variety of reasons, but I also know people doing very well.

  • @dowutado I'm glad to hear you are doing so well. But tell that to the 68 vets a month who are trying to kill themselves and the ones living on the streets, and the ones finding out their college really isn't paid for. I've seen some only get money for books. Unbelievable. Maybe you can do something about all this. You are a vet in a good place. Help the ones who are falling through the cracks.

  • I get really mad when people focus on cutbacks for social services. Want to pay down the deficit? Make these rich corporations pay their fair share. That's where the money is. It's such bullshit!

  • I love this movement. These greedy corporations with their big bonuses, make huge political donations, pay no taxes and then get huge bailouts paid for by the working class. Then they turn around and lay Americans off, outsource the jobs overseas, so now even those employees won't be paying income taxes..and they certainly won't be spending money in our economy! Why should these big corporations be able to circumvent paying taxes when they are making their money in America?

  • Otis you are an idiot!

  • stay strong. its time for us to finally show the government were done with there bull shit

  • Idiot you don't have a college degree, you said you are in community college. You should have veteran's college benefit's to pay for college, so stop bitching. Last point, most college students don't have great jobs, that is why they are in college.

  • Their cause doesn't make sense. It seems that they are just bored and had nothing better to do. A job is not an inherent right. That is called socialism, and we know how well the socialist countries are making out.

And to Monte3207- I was in a union for 9 years and the only thing unions do is protect the worst workers. Those that want to advance and move the company forward are stifled and told to toe the line so that the worst workers don't look bad.

  • I know this clown from BHCC

he is a fcking pothead and loser.

  • Most of our industrial peers have FREE college for those who qualify. These petty comments criticizing one speaker is stupid. I am totally in support of the Occupy movement. Rich scumbags loot the treasury, their corporations don't pay Federal taxes, and yet they claim to be "good corporate citizens"

  • heard this fraud on wrko- he had to told what to say-"USEFUL IDIOT"- the beard is the give away

  • You guys need to protest the colleges and universities, they are the ones raising tuition costs at an astronomical rate for an education that apparently can't even promise a job working tables, meanwhile you get a student loan for that education which you can't ever pay off. Everybody attacks the banks but nobody even mentions the universities which are all price fixing and bringing in record profits each year. Look at how much tuition has increased over the past 30 years its disgusting.

  • @Taurusaud Yea, lets Protest the Price of TextBooks also lol

I agree with 50% of what you say

You need to research OccupyWallStreet a little more. People are upset with alot more than just a few things. Big Banks, Big Corporations, Goverment Bail Outs , Illigal immigrants sooo much more

  • @Taurusaud Right on. At least with corporations we know they are for profit. Universities have special non-profit status, they don't pay property tax, they don't pay taxes on their endowments and yet the University presidents get multi-million dollar salaries, while the students can barely pay tutition. If Universities are not for profit, they certainly fooled me.

  • I supported all branches of the armed forces while I served in the Air Force from 1998-2002 and I still support all of my brothers and sisters in the services, any branch.

PLEASE GOOGLE - US Soldier unemployment, US Soldier suicide

I may not agree with the wars and occupations and imprisonments of the US Empire, but all I signed up to do was "defend my country, especially my family, against all enemy's foreign and domestic."

    SUPPORT YOUR TROOPS!

Look up solider suicide rates and unemploymen

  • liberal moonbat

  • Wall Street owns our government and that has got to stop. Citizens will make it happen. President Obama echoed FDR's "Go out and make me do it" in his address to Congress in September, 2009. Now we are making the call for un-corrupted leadership and we'll see who is listening. It won't be the Koch funded teahadists.

  • They want to replace Capitalism with Communism, the problem is, we have not had capitalism in this country for over 80 years now. I support their right to protest and their right to speech. But they do not have a right to my property or capital. If they want it, they will have to die trying. And they will die.

  • @jamesbnorman1 They don't want your "property or capital", moron. Do some research.

  • @SenseOfRumor im sure not "All" are for the removal of property rights, but a fair amount are and they are openly talking about it all over the internet. Many in this movement feel property rights are not fair and people should not own property. I hope for the best but I see the worst. This looks very much like the French Revolution and nothing good came of that as well.

  • @jamesbnorman1 Sorry about my abrasiveness. Morons abound in these threads. Please point me to demonstrators or supporters voicing anti-property sentiments. I don't agree with it. My perception is that "Occupy Wall Street" is about the lack of regulation by our "bought-and-paid-for" government. I haven't seen any Communists in this group.

  • great, now come to Worcester where i grew up protesters, please? it's the city right next to Boston. the place where i grew up deserves to be free :)

  • The Federal Reserve is a bunch of banks, approximately 10 or 12 (secrecy), that in 1913 Congress gave them the power to print paper money and inflate the money supply at will, again because of secrecy, and in doing so, the value of our currency has lost about 97% since then. If you save 100 dollars, in ten years time it will be worth 50, that's called the inflation tax. They have been robbing us blind for 100 years, and they give generous donations to our corrupt politicians, except one, Paul

  • @Hendrix92TheUniverse Right on brother. There are lots of people trying to occupy a city and have no idea that they are going after the wrong target. its the Federal Reserve. They are kicking of an occupy the Federal Reserve to try and correct the movement.

  • @Hendrix92TheUniverse You fucking immature conspiratorial morons really make me laugh. Inflation is a by-product of Capitalism, not Fed manipulation. It's not a "tax", jerk. When prices go up with inflation, salaries generally do also. It's inevitable because business insists on raising prices as much as they can while workers respond by demanding higher wages to compensate. What hole have you morons crawled out of anyway? We want to plug it up.

  • @SenseOfRumor I wouldn't mind being insulted if you knew what you were talking about. Prices going up is the symptom. Inflation is when the FED "inflates" the money supply by printing more money out of thin air.

Anytime, you increase the supply of anything, its worth goes down. In this case the worth or the purchasing power of the dollar. If you had any valid points to make, you can state them without personal attacks.

  • @Hendrix92TheUniverse Don't say childish, immature bullshit and you won't get insulted. And if Ron Paul is your savior, then you're screwed. He knows nothing about Capitalism and how it works, nor do you.

  • @SenseOfRumor you must had a great job. My salary never went up while inflation did.

  • @Monte3207 Join a union. Collective bargaining is the only tool workers have against corporate greed.

  • @SenseOfRumor i'd join one, if there were jobs here.

  • @SenseOfRumor Union? lol those days are done! The union was needed at a time when workers were abused. Now, union members do the abusing. They blew it. They had a great thing for many years , but the "brothers" destroyed it.

  • @shawnbrennan1 "Those days" are back, my friend.

  • Please reflect the Velvet Revolution and Vaclav Havel!!! Stand for truth!! And the chains of communism (irresponsible capitalism) will be broken!!!

  • And dont forget to protest Freddie and Fannie along with the Fed as they are the primary actors in this redistrubtion of wealth from the working class to the ruling class. Its the Goverment stupid!!!! Banks are just the middle man.

  • @HHODork The banks OWN our government.

  • @SenseOfRumor Who owns the banks? The Federal Reserve! its a private bank owned by the vary cartel they are protesting. The Federal Reserve!!!!!

  • @HHODork The Federal Reserve neither owns anybody nor is it "owned" by anybody. What the hell is this "cartel" you reference? The "Fed" is not part of the government as you say but it IS subject to congressional oversight (our elected officials which in case you haven't noticed far outnumber Ron and Rand Paul). The Fed INFLUENCES economic policy and is supposed to smooth over wild economic swings, a noble Capitalist cause. Are you sure you shouldn't be down here protesting on Wall Street?

  • @SenseOfRumor The idea of self regulation is that it stands on its own. If it is corrupt then it will go out of business, its assets liquidated and then guilty parties will got to court so people can reclaim what they lost. With the government involvement we get government based insurance and government backed promises that if a business or bank goes under, it will be bailed out or propped up. Laws and regulation are not the answer, they are only as good as the people in the business.

  • Comment removed

  • @HHODork Your reasoning is childish. I can assure you that businesses which "self- regulate" will NOT go out of business because of any federally unregulated criminal behavior. They hide it. The "People" (government) must keep an eye on business so they don't ruin our environment, inflate prices, poison our foods and ship all our jobs overseas (child labor) so as to avoid paying Americans a fair wage. That's what the Wall Street occupation is about. You're extremely naive about this topic.

  • When the goverment banks deposits with the FDIC it gives the banks a blank check to be as reckless as they want to with the money in the deposits. End the Goverment Bailouts and regulation of banks. Banks need to stand on their own and if they are reckless then they should be taken to court and let fail for their actions. Calling for more regulation is calling for more bail outs. End the FED! Ron Paul!!!!

  • If you got into debt for an education then you are not smart. You dont go into debt for anything, that was the oldest lesson in your parents tool bag but I guess no one taught them as well. People will pay you to learn a skilled trade but working with your hands has been turned into some taboo by our Federal Government. Get angry at your federal government, the banks are just the tool of the Fed Banking System and is a Private Bank!@!!!

  • So this idiot thinks things aren't going to fix themselves, but he thinks getting involved in an anarchist movement will help to fix them.?

  • @1Makyo sometimes please and may I don't help. My friends just came back and can't get decent jobs. When the government is threatened by the people they listen. Why do banks and all these institutions get money while the 9-5 blue collars get fuck and people looking can't find jobs.

  • @dgenerate707 Go protest on the Mall in DC and I will join you. This current crop of Progressive (communists) is anti capitalist and that means anti jobs. Your efforts are totally misguided. We can make jobs if we quit loaning 2$ BILLION to BRAZIL to develop their oil resources and promise to be their best customer. There are millions of jobs waiting for the communists to allow them to happen. Not too likely until they are out of office. Too many rules and regulations too much taxation and too

  • @1Makyo I'll probably be at chase tower this weekend

  • @dgenerate707 Rochester NY or Houson Tx.???

Just be positive and productive, dude.

  • @1Makyo indianapolis In

  • KEEP IT UP!!! Don't give IN!!!

  • watch the movie corporation , then Inside Job by Ferguson you will get a glimpse of reality ,what they have been doing to the third world has come home. Even the pope blesses them . Chinese and russians do the same to their people and outsiders . World is a real jungle of immoral powerful corporations and weapons that kill.

Only if they can reflect and change their minds and become human for a change world will at least go to cold war times level of huamne ways.

  • coporation is a psychopath that needs to be rehabilitated, how you do it is not easy. They rule the world.

I think they will get the congress to kill many - on false pretext using popular media - before they anything worth while. We preach fredom of speech to others , we don't really have that here. It is all That old Aussie who own it.

Just like the Chinese communist party. Worse yet , don't have faith on so called social media , they can pull the plug anytime, plus they are inhuamne corps.

  • R3VOLution, we're a legion!

  • @RosenKrantz666 They are anti Ron Paul so look out.

  • @HHODork Ron Paul wants deregulation of Wall Street and the banks, the very people who have helped make your life miserable and you don't have a clue. He believes bankruptcy is the only "regulation" we need and everything would be back to normal by now. His policies would have plunged the world into a deep depression. Capitalism thrives on deficit investment but you wouldn't know about that would you. The old fart is simplistic & idealistic, a deadly combination of ignorance and arrogance.

  • @SenseOfRumor No, he wants the banks to stand on their own, and wall street to stand on its own, so that if it commits fraud and goes under then it will fall without bailout. If it commits fraud then it will be taken to court over its fraud. Right now you have Regulators calling for bail outs, you have two parties both calling for bail outs and every time the government gets more involved in an effort for propping up failed banks it is destroying our middle class all the more. its 1984!

  • @HHODork It's 2011, not "Nineteen Eighty-Four". Today, the closest thing to "Big Brother" is the corporate world which has to be regulated by an "efficient" government "of, by and for the people". But, it's not September 13, 1788 either. Ron Paul's constitutionalist approach would allow the tyranny of corporatism. The world has changed and you can't go back. We suffer the consequences long before any banks do. We should have gotten the bailouts instead of the banks. Business would have thrived.

  • @SenseOfRumor and you made my points. Best of luck.
