We flew Cathay Pacific from Vancouver to Thailand 2 years ago, food on way over was nothing to write home about but edible, service was fantastic... Food on way home was amazing! better than some restaurant food i have had, so in a nutshell would I fly them again, YES they are a great airline, friendly and prompt service, and for airline food 9/10.. flying to Thailand with them again on Dec 26th.. Tried for Emirates but they only fly out of pearsons Toronto, hopefully will fly vancouver soon.
I went on Zoom Airline, from JFK to Gatwick, and they only gave us peanuts. Lol. You should really be happy that you even had something that is food. It's not in your taste, but don't knock it until you try it. The best airline food I ever had was on Air Jamaica. Very, very good food. I don't think they offer food anymore though. :(

I have read that the cathay is well known for high standard among all airlines in the world and elected high for overall aviation(air line) industry ranking for more than 10years....it is within the top 10airlines in the world.(often among the top 5th.)

It looks quite oily, no doubt about that. Airlines have to cut back on their food fat content and they sure know how to do it because their low fat/cholesterol meals are much better. I wouldn't mind to eat those meals all the time.

Dim Sims are actually Australian. They were developed using cheaper meats and vegetables found in Australia and are loosley based on dumplings.

I Think on Long-Haul Flights, they give you a choice, not a menu, like Chicken or pork.

if you think that is bad, try their horrible continental Breakfast. Also, Dimsum is only available for lunch. You should've read the menu before choosing.

Dude, I have flown with EMIRATES as well many times. I have no complaints. They are an outstanding airline.
But, I think that you had one bad expirence, because you did not like the food that was served aboard Cathay Pacifcic. All you had to do was ask for something else and they would have found something that you would have liked.
I fly an average of about 20,000 miles with Cathay Pacific every month! I do not think they are the best airline, I KNOW they are the best airline!

what are you ignorant? fly an airline the isn't asian based, they will serve you continental meals. even at my airline if we are flying to ASIA we will serve an asian meal just like that.
do some research before you fly certain airlines.

I doesn't look so bad. Regular if you ask me. Because of difficult operating environment, airlines are cutting back. And food is where they start first. I've flown CX and SQ, the 2 asian leaders many many times.Their food is usually a bit better than US and European carriers but that's about it. Not exactly delicioius but passable.

I flew CX from HGK to SIN and both me and my mum got food poisoning - it was awful!!! Flown with CX many times and they are always very good usually

lol i just flew SIN-HKG-SIN , last week too and the food was delicious..... i ate 2 serving too,not that im fat but i didnt have food for the whole afternoon and my flight was 6.35pm

Never tried CX food before...but frm my experiences....SQ foods are the best...why...coz they have the best ground/catering staffs(SATS staffs) who produce it...Cheers!!!
