  • Hi. The 283 V8 was not available on light trucks untill 1958. If the motor is original, then it would be a 265 ci. The air filter is late model, along w/ the alternator. To have PWR steering, you would need the correct generator w/ pump attached to it. Also the control valve is located outside the engine compartment, behind the left tire.. Looks like someone did an engine swap. 265's didn't have any tapped holes in the block to bolt on AC, or PWR steering pump. Non-original motor. Sorry.
