  • watch?v=BdMV42czPCI :D Just tell me you got a good laugh. :)

  • hahahahahahha this is genius.

  • @HappyHag Btw, sorry, my - should mean minus! ;)

  • @HappyHag Since I have the glasses and have worn them more often, I had the impression that they were worse, but the ophthalmologist says valueshave not changed! For me it was always strange, because my myopia has developed within a year! At that time I had smoked hashish and often think it is, therefore, higher intraocular pressure has developed, how ever i needed it for the driving license!

  • @74pbg If your myopia is so recent, you can be very encouraged that Bates method will work for you. I don't think high intraocular pressure causes myopia, though I suspect wearing glasses in the long term can cause a rise in pressure. If you suspect the pressure is raised, always check with an ophthalmologist.

  • @HappyHag This belongs ti the Bates Method right? I have -1.0R & 1.5L can this really work for me? Did it totally work for your eyes? Thx in advance!

  • @74pbg That is a very mild degree of myopia and if both are minus, it should be possible to get results from shifting, swinging and palming. If your L prescription is plus, that might be more complicated (you haven't put plus or minus so i don't know) and really the only thing to do is to try it and find out!

  • Sorry, I can't fully get your verbal explanation (my english hearing is bad). So my questions are: 1. What's the point of this exercise? 2. What is the expected vision (to assert that my sight is correct). Thanks

  • @scramble21 People have 2 eyes. Their brain has to take 2 different sets of signals and integrate them into one impression. Difference in focus or image strength between those 2 eyes makes it harder for the brain to process the 2 sets of information. It can respond by shutting off the signals from one eye, which causes amblyopia and/or squint. If you use a field divider it helps the brain to make sense of the 2 sets of information by making it obvious which image is coming from which eye.

  • First off, I just want to say thank you. I love your videos and your explanation of vision therapy. This is absolutely wonderful. My 2 year old daughter suddenly began crossing her eyes the other day - No previous vision concerns ever. The ophthalmologist said she is slightly more farsighted in her right eye versus her left. We were told that patching her left eye for 2 hours a day may help. Do you have any other suggestions or videos my daughter could possibly benefit from?

    Thanks again!

  • Which method is most affected and will help the most

  • Hi

I've been having some symptoms of what I believe is strained eyes, work all day at the PC. Been to Doc's office, nothing at all. had new glasses made, no help. How do I know I have a lazy eye? Would this help me? Thanks!

  • Both my eyes are lazy. The second i put these glasses on i can feel my eyes work better together. I can stair at things without my eyes getting tired; i actually feel like my eyes are normal. Though my eyes don't go lazy all the time, putting these glasses on surely does imporve better intergration. Oh, and when i take them off, after using them an hour or two, my eyes feel normal and don't go lazy. Miracal glasses. only if doctors told you about this easy self help.. They work!

  • @ofcgarza i wish i could wear these things when looking at people! i found the more i use them, the better my eyes work together. I don't have to turn the divider like happy hag said, but that doesn't mean you have too--everyone's eyes are different. However, I would sure take her advice; she knows what's she talking about. I made my glasses out of cardboard between styrofoam. i then put colored paper on both sides, then i epoxy glued the styrofaom and paper onto a pear of cheap sunglasses.

  • Not to scare you but bates was retarded he was a special person This method acctually fucks (excuse my language) up your eyesight i`m not even kidding it'll make you see blurier

  • Thank you for your videos and help. I don't believe in surgery unless it is the only option left. I feel I have many options now.

  • Yeah ok , just go have a laser surgery I had one a week ago and I am seeing like an eagle.

  • @Neyden24 That's great, I'm happy for you - but laser surgery won't help with binocularity issues.

  • @HappyHag Oh then ok , I thought this video was about nearsighting or something.

  • @Neyden24 what eye site youve had before you had the sergery?

what is the limit of eye site which after the sergery is impossible

  • @TreyarchBlackOps I was nearsighted I had 4.5 at my left eye and 5 at my right eye.

    I had prk surgery.

  • @Neyden24 good stuff i,ve done my laser surgery a few years back.as well..my vision was 6/6 then...it,s not perfet now..i,m on -2.5 n -3 in my l n r eye now...doest happen to everybody tho

  • Great videos. Don't know why doctors never told me about these techniques while growing up. Had a eye operation on the left "lazy" eye when I was 10-12ish with no improvements. Even with the eye patch and glasses no luck.

Now 37 my bad eye touches the coroner making me look left instead of both eyes straight and cosmetic surgery / glass eye is my only hope now they say.

Its too lat for me on these types of techniques but for the younger ones out their they may benefit from them.

  • @lonnyca1 Oh, I'm sorry you think you're too old at 37. Can you look in the right direction with your bad eye when your good eye is covered? Can you follow a moving target with it? If so, then you still could work on your co-ordination.

  • @BatesHappysight as a matter of fact yes I can. When the good eye is covered my vision look like a blurry T.V. If that makes sense. I can see a pen at arms length in front of me. I can follow the pen until it fades out by going right. I guess my eye is following it, when im in front of a mirror I can see the eye move. it moves slow but it moves.

Also thank you for taken time to answer all of our questions.

Doctors here in the US dont really do anything after a certain age.

  • @HappyHag (continued..) My doctor did reccomend me do eye therapy such as focusing on a moving pen or something while it is moving back and forth slowly. Can these corrective lenses worsen my disparity?

  • @kimbloom1 When your brain finds it difficult to control both eyes at the same time, strain is involved. The glasses may help with integration. But there will still be strain. If you want to give the lenses a fair trial, focus on releasing the strain. Keep closing your eyes and resting them. Always notice whether strain is relieved or made worse by what you do. It's up to you - you are the only one who knows what it feels like to be wearing these glasses and whether they are helping.

  • @HappyHag I understand, that I have to ease into them since I have (its been roughly a month with these new glasses), but it may be more complicated since I am near-sighted as well. Also, is it possible to reverse the signs of "eye baggyness or fatique"? since both of my eyes have been OVERLY bulging out recently (can it be due to a wrong prescription).

  • HI, my doctor told me that I have very large disparity in both eyes, but my left eye seems to turn further out more. I bought corrective lenses and she put roughly 2 prism in each lenses but I actually need a lot more than that since she just wants me to ease into the transition. I have been feeling great strain and my eyes have been seeming to bulge out very badly. What should I do?

  • @kimbloom1 If you are going to wear new lenses, you do need to ease yourself into them. Relax your eyes and your mind before you put the glasses on. Don't try to make sense of what you see. Just let it float there. Reach out and touch things and focus on the feel of that. At the slightest sense of strain, close your eyes and do some deep breathing. But if you want to try Bates, don't do the corrective lenses, because they will support the disparity.

  • Ok i got this , will try to do it. Thanks .Your videos are really unique and helpful.

  • If you make a field divider, start by experimenting with the angle to find if it helps to stop your eye from wandering. If your eye wanders it's because your brain can't process the sets of information from both eyes simultaneously. It may be that giving one eye a wider field & the other eye a narrower field will make it easier on your brain. Be very relaxed, and keep closing your eyes over and over again to imagine what it should look like - but don't try to force it to look like that.

  • how can i get a green & orange card?

  • Well, I got a pack of coloured card from a stationer's and stuck the two colours back to back!

  • Hi everyone, sorry to be a party pooper but this type of vision training only works in children, due to the visual cortex setting like concrete at about 7-9 years old, infact it mostly sets by 6..... still this type of training is exactly the same as you get at an Optometrists! I'm afraid the Bates method does not work either. I wish it did... Still HappyHag u are very good at explaining this training for a non professional! well done.

    I am an Optom....

  • ur prolly lying, all doctors say that about everything whatever the ailment is, doctors want u to stay sick to make money because if somethig natural works, they dont want u to know about it because they lose money

  • Hmmmm. When I tried this exercise, I noticed that my "magic gateway" is shifted to the left of center. Looks as though my vision is more obstructed by my nose on my right side (my nose is normal but my eyes are a bit deepset). Anyway, maybe this is why I've never been good at sports involving a ball. Thanks for posting this.

  • Maybe you should get someone to check that your head is straight and the card is central. A lot of people turn their head a bit to one side without realising it.

  • That was a very good suggestion. Indeed, it appears that I do have a tendancy to turn my head to the left a bit. My left eye is weaker optically (albeit corrected by eyeglasses) so maybe my body is trying to compensate. I want to buy your DVD, but I live in the US. Do you ship across the pond?

  • Yes, I do. I just need to warn you that the DVD is in European PAL format and you need to make sure your equipment can play it.

  • Is there any chance that you might be able to convert some DVDs to NTSC for viewing in the States?

  • I haven't found a way. If anybody knows how, please tell me! I have heard that modern computers and some modern DVD players will play both formats.

  • thank you very much for sharing your vast knowledge please continue to post more movie clips

  • does the bates mthod work for astigmatism?

  • Thank you so much for these videos! I hope you are able to add more soon. :)

  • LOL i don't think I could walk down the street like that. since I was little I have turned my head sideways so thats sorted that problem out, now for the problem that people call me a druggie XD :(

  • hi thanks for teaching the bates method you are a very kind i am only able to turn on 1 eye at a time my eyes do not work together will this method work for me or are there other techniques thanks

  • Bates method can help but you might find it worth going to a teacher who can show you what to do. A starter might be to practise central fixation with each eye on its own. When you look at a dot, do you see it better or worse when you look away from it? What you would do next would depend on the experience you were getting.

  • that was actually really neat, with or without your amazing nakedness :P

  • I don't get it.

  • Well thank you for trying anyway, CO0002.

  • Is it supposed to be Ireland?

  • Ha ha. That's what Mr Happy said, too!
