Striker, have you ever flown a multi-engine plane before? No, never. Shit, this is a god damn waste of time. Theres no way he can land this plane. Getta hold of yourself, you gotta talk him down, you gotta. Route him into Lake Michigan, at least it will avoid killing innocent people. :p
OMG he was in airplane? of course! now i remember him.. but i want that image of him on unsolved mysteries to be the one i remember. He was the best , its so sad he isnt around anymore . The 90's and 80's were the best times , Tv was at its best IMO. Okay technologically its so much better now..but the quality has gone from TV and its shows. We dont see unique people like Robert Stacks. American TV is becoming more and more like crappy British TV , not surprised so many executives are here
The 4 dislikes were beaten up by Robert Stack at LAX. Many years ago I personally remember all those religious fanatic drooling cretins swarming around that airport like the bothersome insects they were. I LOOOOOOOOVE seeing these airport solicitor cuntlappers get hurt.
I remember seeing this movie for the first time as a kid and realizing "Hey! It's the guy from Unsolved Mysteries!" I think it's hysterical seeing Robert Stack playing a role that "shirley isn't serious"
love Rex Kramer but one of the best is missing. The one where he's asked if they should turn on the landing lights & Kramer says "No.... that's just what they're expecting us to do".
You know I've seen this movie probably more than 20 times but the other day my father pointed out the fact that the plane sounds like a prop plane and not a jet. Somehow I missed that.
@jaegerhund OMG you're right! haha, ive seen it too many times to count and pretty much know no it line for line..... but somehow i missed that too! lol, just goes to show how incredibly brilliant the film is when you can still pick up stuff after so many years of watching it!
I sometimes forget about how fucking bloody funny Robert Stack was. People always think of his grim and ominous demeanor from Unsolved Mysteries, but then you remember that he made you laugh your ass off in things like Airplane, Beavis/Butthead and BASEketball.
@fullclip16117 lol, I love listening to his voice on Unsolved Mysteries, not in a gay way, haha, just the way he sounds, and it brings back memories hearing his voice too :-)
@fullclip16117 Stack was one of the greats. Like Leslie, during his career he had to deliver a lot of silly, over the top lines straight, which made him perfect for "Airplane!"
@fullclip16117 You are right on about Bob Stack - he is hilarious in this movie. My wife and I say aloud to each other when leaving in our car for someplace : "cheats and liars - alright let's get out of here!" We both appreciate the slapstick humor. And Bob was a real standout in Airplane and that was hard to do, look at that cast! Thanks for giving him props. " Municipal Bonds Ted, I'm talking triple A rating. Do you know what it's like to be kicked in the head with an iron boot?
I remember two of Robert Stack's most memorable roles were as the voice of Ultra-Magnus for the original Transformers film, and as the voice of an FBI agent from Beavis and Butthead Do America.
I didn't find that out until a few years ago. You're so busy concentration on the poor guy getting his ass attacked by the dog that you just let it slide!
Shit! This is a god damn waste of time, there's no way he can land that plane. Route him into Lake Michigan, at least he'll avoid killing innocent people.
The scary part is, every other sentence is a "non famous" line in this movie. Every time I watch it, I always pick up something that I've missed before!
I know! The crazy thing is that woman didn't seem to care for the guy's saftey. Almost like she was thinking; "Oh hell. I don't care if the dog attacks him! I'll let him do as he pleases!"
Yeah! What's funny though is that she says, "He always gets so excited whenever new people are here!" If I were the guy, I would've said, "Excited? Or hungry?"
Well, I can say this much; a dog as vicious and unpredictable as that would either have to be chained up somewhere or put down. Or, teach it how to behave itself if the dog is trainable.
Aw, you cut out one of the best lines. "You know what it's like to be kicked... in the head... by an iron boot?! No of course you don't, never happens."
Over the years I think the airports rid themselves of all those solicitors hustling people for donations. You simply don't find that anymore.
Did you see the blooper, the guy says "Read about Jehovah's witness? How about Buddhism?" but his lips are not moving when he says it.
I think the funniest scene in the whole movie was when copilot Kareem Abdul Jabbar passes out, and they pull him out of the seat and he's wearing a Laker uniform.
I love the part where he runs over the guy on the motorcycle and the guy screams A__hole!! I remember when this came out, I went to see it at the theatre. Fun movie.
Great thing about this movie is that there are so many little jokes that you don't see the first, second, third time around. One of my favourite movies of all time. Hilarious.
