  • Probably the pot of hard boiled eggs are to be stewed in the meat sauce to make 滷蛋, or called by some people 醬泡蛋. I grow up with that stuff. It is delicious! But be careful: the higher salt content in the soy sauce-based meat sauce would draw the water content out of the eggs, thus diluting the stewed meat, although making the eggs very flavorful. (Egg is ~70% H2O. ) One can also stew kalp, compressed tofu, etc. in the meat sauce.
