  • Mewtwo is cute when he was a baby, he looks like Mew!

Thumbs up if u agree! :D

  • Wah, i can see why they cut this...

  • I cried after watching this T.T

The first generation was the greatest generation ever. I grew up with the original 151 pokemon

  • I wonder how his kid died. So sad he tried to bring her back from the dead

  • This just made me cry. I feel so sorry for mewtwo.

  • WTF!? When was this made?

  • @Imthedrunk I think they made it to go with the first pokemon movie, but 4KIDS thought it was too depressing for kids and cut it out.

  • thank god we were the generation that grew up with the original 151 pokemon and not that crap they have today.

  • @tarabahbeh Nostalgiafag spotted

  • @EpicLittleIcarus okay fine, the second generation was good too :) but the rest just overdoes it is all :p

  • Ok im lost... what did i miss? i stopped watching Pokemon after the first season ended, so i don't know what the hell is happening here.

    Anyone care to explain?

  • @Donqco Giovanni, leader of Team Rocket and Viridian City gym leader, wants the most powerful pokemon in existence, so he wants a modified copy of Mew, Pokemon #151. The doctor creating it agrees, if only the cloning process will also give him back his dead daughter. Needless to say, only Mewtwo survives, and becomes engraged that he was only created as a tool to be used by humans, and decides that humans must be wiped out. Mew and Ash team up to stop Mewtwo.

  • D: this is one of the three movies/videos that ive ever cried in...

  • This is a billion times more sad than when Pikachu cries.

  • This is pokemon damn it this is the good pokemon it saddens me how emporical it has become today!

  • I remember seeing this somewhere as a little girl a while after the movie came out, but I can't remember where. I haven't seen it since, so part of me always wondered if it was actually real, or if I just imagined it or dreamed it...

  • Is this ripped from the Mewtwo Returns DVD or is this from the English track on the 2011 release of Mewtwo Strikes Back Japan DVD? Anyone know?

  • They should've kept this in the movie! It would've set the mood and it would've made perfect sense!

  • I cried. ;___;

  • i don't see why they thought this was too dark to keep in the movie.

  • I wish they kept this scene in the movie e-e

  • m-my name is Amber.... D:

  • would have made movie even better...

  • this was a cut scene in mewtwo`s strikeback right? mewtwo was so cute when it was young... although of being cute is quite too strong and powerful... how sad he meets amber the daughter of professor smith who create the cloning machine...

  • Um I wonder if anybody has noticed but in the actual movie Mewtwo re-created the charmandertwo squirtaltwo and boulbasaurtwo they look very similar if you look closely

  • @piraticoctopus ah,kk,ty,that's really sad for that to happen to such a young child :(

  • Why was 2:37 to the end not in the actual movie?

  • @jw1764718 more than likely because they had to make edits and figured we'd prefer more mystery than a story, though pokemon isn't really the best anime for them to do that for considering all the episodes had resolutions, so the same should have been for all the movies

  • I always wondered something...after watching this...the end of both mewtwo movies....They made him forget but....does Mewtwo EVER remember Amber?

  • @beautifullychaos Mewtwo never fully remembers ambertwo but he does remember her final words, that life is wonderful.

  • I cry every time. This is so sad.. So deep. >.<

  • @animefoxfan101 On TVTropes it says she died in a car crash, but I have no clue where they heard that. I feel like that's worse than a natural cause, because then it very well was somebody's "fault" that she died, as opposed to just "she got sick and couldn't be cured", etc. :(

  • This, is the saddest moment in Pokemon history.

  • I can almost understand what drove mewtwos hate. Its survivors guilt. all the other clones died, But he lived, That he survived but they all perished, must have been terrible. To see his best friends, Practically his brothers and sister(all born in the same lab), Die well he thrived, I cant imagine anyone could go through that and Still retain sanity.

  • I can't believe I've never seen this or even heard of this scene.

  • how did amber die?,this makes me cry ;.;

  • OMG thanks a lot for posted this!! I always wanted to see it!! Thanks! <3 (sorry for my bad english)

  • Is normal that i cry with mewtwo?

  • Pokemon is probably the only thing I wouldn't mind watching in 240p VHS rip!

  • This doesn't explain why all the clones have the strange markings though?

  • Mew is so cute >w< ♥

  • Comment removed

  • why did they deleted it?

  • It always bugged me that Mewtwo had cloned pokemons, I couldn't picture him cloning his peers. Now I know why :)

  • Life is wonderful... But... Why?

  • this made me cry.drom childhood to adulthood! dangggg >.<

  • Fuck you I'm crying. :((

  • Dindn't realise how epic this was when I was 4 years old, but now I know this was one of the best parts of all the pokemon series..

  • Comment removed

  • Dr. Tenma created Mewtwo!

  • MEWTWO YOU BADASS MOTHERFUCKER. HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

  • @hectormusic111 DANG YOU you beat me to it! XD

Glad to know I'm not the only weird one >u<

  • Happy Birthday Mewtwo!

  • Happy birthday, Mewtwo!

  • made me cry!

  • i actually have a version of this movie that doesnt have this part cut out.

  • @RoninAkasawa Same. Never realized this part was cut out in some versions.

  • this is the first time i ever saw this scene.

and before this, the whole movie made NO SENSE.

  • wtf they cut the best part from the movie!!! >:U

  • Mewtwo was left alone ... poor thing, the one that survived ... he was so happy with the Amber alongside him ...

  • Thats not right like that -.- its a cool story but mew is mewtows mom ita written in nearly every pokemon edition on some papers :D cool story but the inventors of pokemon said that mew is mewtwos mom :D

  • @NoMe4N Well, if you look at the way that real life cloning/genetic engineering works, then technically both can be true at the same time.

  • mewtwo was so cute then he got old and nuts XD

  • such a shame this was cut from the movie. I only saw this for the first time a few weeks ago and have come back to watch it 8 times. Its the best part of the movie, I can see why it was cut as it is pretty dark but its incredible that 10 years later Pokemon can pull so much emotion. The music, the character, its emotive

  • this makes me love mewtwo even more*hugs mewtwo plush*

  • About to cry, so sad :c

  • Holy crap. @ about 2:40. Mewtwo's theme, music box. Is this part of the soundtrack ANYWHERE to be found? Call me weird, but I actually love that...

  • Uuuugggghhh. Why did they cut this out!? I mean, it explains so much! Explains who Mewtwo is, why he's here, and why he hates people. I mean, you get the gist of it in the movie, but this makes it so much more clear!

  • @darkcara And the whole tears thing at the end of the movie. That confused me. Makes a bit more sense now.

  • This is so, so sad. Mewtwo is just like Lucy from Elfen Lied. ;_;

  • @LeftistHateMachine That was honestly the first thing I thought during Episode 1 of Elfen Lied. XD "Holy crap this is like Pokemon uncensored!"

  • @PiraticOctopus I wouldn't be surprised if Mewtwo played a part in the inspiration of Elfen Lied, the similarities between him and Lucy are crazy! They both use telekinetic powers to avenge themselves and escape their confinements (which also both happen to be a laboratory where they were experimented on). Finally, they both hold a vendetta against the rest of the world for the way they've been treated and exists as an outcast. The masterpiece EL will always be the saddest anime ever made.

  • This is so sad. Mewtwo is just like Lucy from Elfen Lied ;_;

  • Oh my...I have never seen this before...But now I'm tearing up just like I did as a kid seeing the sad part of this movie for the first time. Everything makes so much more sense in a tragic sorta way...

  • nothing like the original pokemon :)

  • @werewardragon Don't forget about Genesect. I don't have a reason to hate the Pokemon itself, just the mere fact it exists to begin with. A) it's a BUG TYPE. Guess what that's super effectice on? B) someone's already tried that. Sorry, Team Plasma, but you're 15 or so years too late. And C) it's PURPLE. Come on, really?

Is there a word that means feeling "jealous" in the place of a fav character who's facing replacement?

  • @PiraticOctopus make ether mewtwo or arces (i might of spelled that wrong XD) gets mind controlled by team rocket, then the mind conrtoled one fights the one that isn't mind controlled and they get so caught up in the fight they don't realize there tearing apart the world, (kinda like when that time and space Pokemon fought i can't remember there names ether XD) and ash has to do something like blow up the heavy guarded mind control machine or something like that XD.

  • @mandarinduck ya but i heard that was just a special not a movie but guess that does count, but with all of these new Pokemon just look stupid, and there saying THOSE are the stongest it just makes me mad. but mewtwo he has backstory, all of the others are just dumb looking legendary pokemon!

  • @werewardragon it was a special but they cut it up and used some of it in the first movie

  • Took me like 50 rewordings to find this, so many bloody tributes.

  • this made me sad i mean mewtwo had a friend but then she died i want to hug mewtwo now

  • When I saw the movie (at age...like 3) I was always wondering "WHAT THE FUCK?!" He must have gone insane without anything around him for years.

  • this shows that everything in japan is better. >_>

  • Hey, does anybody know where I could download the original Japanese version of Indigo League with English subtitles? It would be greatly appreciated. ^_^

  • @werewardragon OR we could keep it as it is. As much as I wish there was more of Mewtwo, at the same time I feel like they'd screw it up if they touched it now. Yeah, his story is incomplete, but how would you finish it? I think it's actually cool that they left it like that after the second one.

But just curious, what WOULD you propose they do with him? I'm not saying this rudely.

  • everyone thumps this comment up and post this on every Pokemon video you see, together we can MAKE Nintendo carry on with mewtwo movies, no more dumb garbage new legendary pokemon, we will make sure there is at least 1 more mewtwo movie, mewtwo will win!!!!!!!!!!

  • @werewardragon There is "Mewtwo Returns" (or are you including that?) which continues the story, which sort of leads into Mewtwo's role in the cameos he gets in various openings.

  • Poor Mewtwo :( His rage was misunderstood by Amber's leaving. I have to admit, I teared up a little

  • when charmandertwo started to dissapear, i was like, "fuck!" T^T

  • The part where ambertwo is dissapering and says life is wonderful ..... I was crying lol

  • wow mewtwo is the fucking man, best pokemon ever.

never seen this till now and im so rage i never knew this part of the story.

pokemon these days are queer everything about it is just stupid.

that arceus pokemon sounds like a faggot when he speaks he sounds like some guy off dragon ball z. overall they just ran out of ideas. MEWTWO will always be the best.

  • Oh how I wish this scene wasn't cut. It was brilliant and made the entire movie more tragic and much more complex.

  • @FrostFoxChick Blame that motherfucker,Alfred kahn. That dipshit has ruined countless shows.

  • thanks for uploading, but shitty ass audio

  • poor mewtwo :(

  • I just love when there are sad moments in Pokemon, it makes me feel sad and good at the same time

  • @MixSkits True. Which is why WB Kids told them not to include it. It's really just a shame that it ended up changing the tone of the whole movie.

  • in a way I feel like this is kinda dark. if I saw this when I was young, I would feel a lot of sadness after watching this.

  • @Foxtail357 And the fact that those three first clones he had are the same as the three starters seen here.

Kind of disturbing when you think about it. Although at least they don't seem to be the same "soul" as the first ones. But surely Mewtwo came across something else while putting the island back together...

  • mostly i think now that i have watched this, that Mewtwo remembered about the tears amber told him about when ash was stone and he understand why he should stop.

  • cool but they shold make an anime episode if the radio drama

  • @autumnhume13 - Actually the full thing like this is called The Birth of Mewtwo. On the first movie DVD it has the part where they are finding the fossil, and that's called Mewtwo's Origin.

  • I love the last scene of this: his thoughts as he grows up.

  • 08:33 Mewtwo, you can't make me cry!!

    ...*crying*

  • this is the origins of mew!!!!!!chang the name

  • when I remembered what Amber says quite literally changed the way I try to look at things. Watching this 2 years later still makes me tear up, but in a heartwarming way. And honestly, I don't care if I sound like a complete loser with no life for saying this. Yeah, it's friking Pokemon. That doesn't mean something unexpectedly beautiful like this can't come from it. Thanks so much for posting this. Mewtwo's my forever favorite now. <3

  • I understand why WB Kids made them take this out; as a five-year-old I wouldn't have been able to see it on a deeper level. Unfortunately, I spent until I was 15 thinking Mewtwo was a creepy jerk. My cat died 4 months after seeing this (my BFF from elementary school "outgrew" me and I never really made more friends, so she was pretty much it). So I got a nice chance to put the whole "don't be depressed for someone who's not hurting" viewpoint into action. That moment of realization I got ...

  • Awww... This is just adorable D:

Whoever thinks this should have been cut is a real huge asshole....

I mean yeah it's sad at times and some might not like it but it's called life...

This should never have been cut.. screw pikachu :c

  • Just think of how much more powerful/more sense Pokemon: The First Movie would have made if they hadn't cut this :/

  • I feel so bad for mewtwo ambertwo and the others

  • When Mewtwo is a baby, I how see how similar he is to Mew. He was cute.

  • @EvilCheese555 I agree. I have a Ryuugu Rena freakout moment every time I see it. He's soooooo cute! ^u^

  • Mew you stalker. Come back and meet mewtwo so you two can take revenge on Team Rocket. :D

  • NOOOOO! No wonder mewtwo is angry in Mewtwo Strikes Back! He lost his only friends, and was forced to forget, AND was made a slave! Poor Mewtwo!

  • Now why the hell wasn't this in the original theatrical release of the film? Not only does this fill in the plothole with the tears at the end (even if that was still pretty silly), it also helps show that Mewtwo really was tragic, not just an evil ass just because (and yes, I know the dub made him a "take over the world" cardholder).

  • @Darkman9000 They believed it was too dark for a kids TV show. It focused a lot of death and loss so they cut it out.

  • @KazeAizen

"Of course! Children are too dumb to understand something like death! It'll blow their minds!"

And yet somehow Littlefoot's mom dying wasn't too dark? Whatever, 4kids certainly had a nack for buthering drama for the sake of "For Kids"

  • @Darkman9000 I don't think it was really that kids were too dumb but rather I don't think they wanted to traumatize them. America in general plays down at the maturity of anime. A friend of mine read an article that had a picture of a maybe 8-10 year old girl holding a DVD of La Blue Girl (in case you didn't know that is a hentai). So yeah animation can't be dark in America apparently. Well at least not anymore :(

  • @KazeAizen

I hardly doubt it would traumatize a child. Besides, kids should be able to understand death, even light hearted depictions (even if this was the more dramatic flair). To "shield" them from it will only lead to many getting the wrong idea and thinking death is just some joke. They don't have to frightened into learning it, but to avoid showing it for too long can really mess up young, developing minds.

  • @Darkman9000 I see what you mean but I see where they are coming from too. Either way I know I didn't have that problem growing up. I watched DBZ for pete sake. People exploding and getting cut to pieces. I wasn't traumatized at all. The worst I actually think it would do if they showed death in kids shows would desensitize someone to death. Not exactly ideal but better then a traumatized kid.

  • @KazeAizen

The only way they'd be desensitized is if the death was portrayed as no big deal, that there was no consequence of seeing people die. I mean, sure, too much violent death wouldn't do well for anyone, but if kids see portrayed like it's not even tragic, then they'll grow up to think it's fine to hurt others. But yea, some tragic deaths in cartoons can be sad, but that's what makes them great. It's the fact that they treat the target audience as mature and respects their intellect.

  • @Darkman9000 Good luck with that. America needs to censor daytime tv. I mean you remember toonami? They moved that to Saturday nights because the show's plots were getting to violent. Its really sad that they think children and teens can't handle violence appropriately.

  • @KazeAizen

I think the move had more to do with CN's failed attempts to create "Original" shows (most of which failed). But yea, it's pitiful that the networks are only know starting to remember "Hey, kids can be treated on the same intellectual level as teens and adults!" Shame it didn't save Sy-bionic Titan and the GI Joe Renegades.

  • @Darkman9000 Yeah. But that was a reason for it. Anime plots were too violent for daytime TV. Most of the stuff on CN sucks now a days. It seems this HUB channel is more reminiscent of the old CN. Old shows like Batman Beyond and the like. Plus new gems like Transformers Prime. Oh boy how the mighty have fallen. I'm not going to try and get into politics on this but one reason I heard anime is censored is because we are viewed around the world as more conservative.

  • @KazeAizen

But the only anime that was really "gritty" by the time Toonami moved was maybe Yu Yu Hakusho (and that was only stuff that was really implied, not shown). As for current CN shows, there are some good ones, new Thundercats and GenRex, aren't half bad. But yea, it's a shame we had to go through such a slump for pretty much all of 03 to now just to have CN finally go "Hey, maybe we can get away with some shit in these cartoons again."

Now we just need a new Pirates of Dark Water.

  • jessie from team rocket's mom was on the mew expedition and the dude that sounds russian has the same voice actor as the dude who brought ash to sabrina's presence the first time

  • this is so sad. and hes so cute when hes young!

  • ¿as it is called the ost of the minute 8:17? perdonen mi inglés no es bueno

  • is her fossil the Old Amber?

  • Mewtwo has a right to be pissed off

  • @meggoldnight Yep. First all this, then he finds out he was created for no reason other than to be exploited by Giovanni.

  • @SakamaruNetoi Very true, espically he loses Ambertwo his only friend. I remember woundering why is Mewtwo a bad guy (note I was 2 or 3 when I saw this) now I know and I dont blame him.

  • I feel sorry for the scientist knowing now that all he wanted to do was bring back the one he loved. Mewtwo destroyed everything in the Movie.

  • @KittyMEMEGirl She died because a human was not strong enough to survive the process, he lived because he was part mew.

  • they should have kept this in instead of the pikachu short -_____-

  • @totodile47 I think the Pikachu short was part of it. I think they remove parts of Pokemon Movies to add the sense of mystery. Plus it seems as though they like to edit out sad scenes (take the Zorua/Zoroark Movie for example: they cut out a big part of Zorua and Zoroark being captured at the beginning).

  • @KittyMEMEGirl Any Idea where I can watch that?

  • @meggoldnight It's in the Japanese version but I forget where I saw it. Might have been a music video or the Japanese trailer for it.

  • @totodile47 they should've kept both to make it seem even more like a movie.......but they took it out for "unrealistic" crap or something.........but, IT'S POKEMON PEOPLE!!! IT IS THE KING OF UNREALISTIC!!! cartoons are!!! GET OVER IT USA!!!!

  • i wish they kept mewtwo younger and cuter like that.........o well -____-

  • @totodile47 Why not both? I like the short xD

  • @totodile47 they took it out because the human cloning was controversial. they showed the original in japan, though.

  • @vickyyy44 I think it had more to do with the fact that a bunch of characters (including a little girl) died and never came back to life. =( 4Kids isn't a huge fan of death in their franchises, especially child death.

  • And don't cry mewtwo, your alive. And life is wonderful.

  • i have the original VHS 4 this movie :) so i dont have this cut out! :) :) :)

  • is it just me or does little mewtwo sound like sora from kindom hearts

  • "I feel... something... what are these?"

    "They're tears, you're crying."

    "...crying?"

"My daddy used to tell me a bedtime story that when Pokemon are sad, and they cry, their tears are filled with life."

    "I'm so... sad..."

    "I have to go."

    "Why?"

"I don't know, but it's alright. Thank you for caring about me. And don't cry Mewtwo, you should be happy. You're alive... and life is wonderful."

  • Why did 4Kids remove the stuff involving the young MewTwo? They could have gotten rid of the Pikachu short and put this in.

  • @RandomShinigami7 Because this is the GOOD stuff really, the Drama, the controversy fucking 4Kids aint for that their just chopping all the good stuff and filling it with mindless marketing CRAP to get lil kids hooked on this crap and bitch their parents to BUY BUY BUY! >>; fucking corporate propaganda is what really ruined Pokemon from here and all the other EXCELLENT movies it came that they work so hard only to be butchered over here by half ass dubbing n editing really insulting if u ask me.

  • They didn't talk about Miyamoto... :( Or am I missing something?

  • poor mewtwo, that doc should have consideration for him too for he's the reason he almost brought amber back.

  • this is allmost make me cry.

  • Comment removed

  • " 'Life is wonderful', . . . but, why?"

  • I wonder if the VAs cried too.

Unlike Al KHAAAAAAAN, the 4Kids VAs are generally pretty cool guys who are somewhat hypocritical in that the non-4Kids animes they're in tend to be either hentai (Temptation, now with DAN GREEN and Bella Hudson clucking like a chicken) or overloaded with sexual metaphors like Utena.

  • Look at all of those memorable pokemon. THEY'RE NOT ON THE ANIME ANYMORE!!! The only pokemon that everybody knows that are still on the show now are Pikachu and Meowth.

  • OMG I MISS THE ORIGINAL! THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO MAKE POKEMON MORE AND MORE AWSOME NOT WORSE!!

  • Silly man.... doesn't he know human transmutation is impossible?

  • if i remember rite in this scene they also erased the memory of mewtwo meeting amber because he wuld have hated humans if it was kept

  • i shit on mewtwo

  • omg the scitest looks so much like dr shahntgun from professer layton and the unwound future 0.o

  • what happened to bulbasaur charmander and squirtle?
