Stiff brush better than your hand. And a blowdryer will help with the sharp chads also giving a clean polished look if thats what your trying to achieve. You could also use a soldering gun to give more detail
Ok, I did the same thing as you then. I just put the cork roadbed right on the plywood. and built scenery around it. Seems a little more durable than having the foam as the base.
Are you from Washington State? i remember going to a locomotive club in or near clickitat county in washington and the rocks against the wall in this video looks exactly like i remember that layout to be...

Just a random layout building question:
I'm wondering if a sheet of this foam makes a good base for a layout (just putting a full sheet over the plywood before laying track or anything).
Is your track & roadbed mounted onto a sheet of this foam or do you have the track mounted straight to the plywood?
thanks

There's been a couple of articles in Model Railroader Mag where 2 inch foam is used as a base.
The track I have is mounted to cork roadbed which is in turn mounted to plywood.

This is one of the better and more "fun" videos to watch. You remind me of Bob Ross A.K.A Mr Happy Trees.

The mountains I'm depicting aren't from any particular location. I suppose the closest area would be somewhere in the four corners area.
