Wow, I've been looking all over for this song. I only found it by looking up top dance songs from 1982. My dad had it on a tape that he taped from Kiss fm in NY(98.7). I think Call me was also on there. Somehow this song has been buried in the mix over years. Kiss Fm is still around apparently.
The best song at Studio54, in BCN..........at the 80´s.
La que mes tralla em va donar en el seu moment, el wapo d´Studio54, collons......Baixava "l´ovni", amb l´esclat de só i l´espectacle amb globus, confettis i tiretes de color daurat................
OMG...would love to start over from when this song came out, & forward....miss these dance classics....was young, came out, had my whole life ahead of me with so much to look forward to...now, middle aged, with many regrets....this brings back such fun memories....TY
There is something wonky with this version, it's up almost a semitone and several BPM faster than two other versions I have heard. How come? Was the tempo/pitch tweaked during mastering for radio?
Thanks for uploading this song. I remember when "Glad To Know You" was in heavy rotation on the radio and played on a locally produced dance show called "The Scene" with Nat Morris here in Detroit back in the early 1980's. This song was indeed a fun, upbeat cut that was sure to make one dance.
@eleesmith Thank you for responding to my comments 1st off. I give thanks to the DJ's such as the Electrifiying Mojo and the others who were free thinkers when it came to playing songs such as this one. I remember when we used to say "Did you hear that jam on the radio!" Today the response is "Did you see that video!" The quality of todays music SUCKS. Today the corporations are dictating what is so-called "Hot" or "Popular" which is so sad.
@ddje while we bullshittin, lets not 4get skitso by a number of names, lets see if u a real mojo fan.he was the only one who would play it.its on youtube finally
Chaz Jankel is one of the greatest gems in British songwriting and is often not given the credit he deserves. AND I MET HIM LAST THURSDAY!!..He was a thorough gentlemen too.
I first heard this and bought it when I was wide-eyed visiting San Francisco for the first time in mid-1982. When I got back to Sydney it was being played in the gay discos. Fab track with a great feel. "I wish that I'd been told!" :)
Amo essa música, dizem que Disco é picaretagem, mais essa música com certeza não é, existem muitas músicas da era Disco de tirar o chapéu, essa é uma....obrigado!
"giguchan"The skate key IN THE BRONX... new ro .. WESTCHESTER COUNTY had a roller rink & on the streets...many of my friends jammed in the city. Those were some awesome days ... & yes i would not trade those days for nothing.... Will bring those with me to the grave...
@EIGHTIESmusicguy Bout the same time I heard it too in NJ. Quincy Jones did a remake of his song "Ai no corrida" which I think may have been on the flip-side of this or a "12" inch release.
Eravamo in terza media...settimana di scambio culturale in Savoia(francia) Un compagno venne sgridato per colpa del suo stereo portatile...disturbava l'armonia della natura...Suonava questa canzone..1982 !
OMG...WOW...the memories of hearing this when walking into my first gay club, nervous as all heck at 17 and started dancing my booty off. Listening to it now, can recall those days so clearly and wonder where, how they have passed so darn quickly.
This tune had street & club repsect!!!I'm from the n.y. & man the kids & grown ups would line up & roller skate their butts off. Soo much fun back in the late 70's & early 80's To bad for the youth of 2day they missed the bus...

Chaz was on some serious shit ok? I mean the tune is nice, his voice is good, but some of the lyrics: "Said the turkey to the carving knife:
"What you give is what you get"
Said the waiter as he wrote the bill,
"Please return the spoons"
and so on.
WTF? Still a fun tune.
