The real reason was, the he worried, that we gave up weapons and leave the Empire. So our castles mostly just ruins... But they command respect nowadays too. No, it's a tiny village called Vandré, a few kilometers from the Western coast and halfway between Nantes and Bordeaux. So small that I couldn't find any information on it. There's probably no connection with our family, which seems to have originated in Nice.
I didn't realize that. My sister spent a few weeks in France and loved it. Some of our distant ancestors came from there, and there's a small town in western Frances, south of Nantes, bearing our family name, Vandre. (No castle with that name, however.)

The castle of Villandry is very famous for its gardens (exactly the same as in the Middle Age and Renaissance centuries) .These gardens mix vegetables , fruits and other plants, flowers.
Ahh...Loir Valley castles....I have visited some of them. I especially enjoyed Chambord because of its beauty and because it is connected to my country's history. A banished polish King lived there at one time. I have seen a lot of countries and in my opinion France is among the most beautiful if not the most beautiful. I enjoyed my time there very much.

Totally wrong... Castles derive from "mottes castrales", invented by Franks... Inform you before saying stupidities. Furthermore, France is the country which have more castles in the world, at least 40 000, half of european heritage.

No, it's a tiny village called Vandré, a few kilometers from the Western coast and halfway between Nantes and Bordeaux. So small that I couldn't find any information on it. There's probably no connection with our family, which seems to have originated in Nice.

I didn't realize that. My sister spent a few weeks in France and loved it. Some of our distant ancestors came from there, and there's a small town in western Frances, south of Nantes, bearing our family name, Vandre. (No castle with that name, however.)

And I agree, I'm French and I'm think most of me fellow-countrymen are fucking stupid, but I also think it's probably worst elsewhere. Anyways Norway and generally Scandinavians country are really beautiful, and the Vikings historic identity have one of the two most well-known mythology in europe (with the greco-roman one). An really important contribution for european culture.

The castle of Villandry is very famous for its gardens (exactly the same as in the Middle Age and Renaissance centuries) .These gardens mix vegetables , fruits and other plants, flowers.

that's mostly northern French castles. to be complete you could add the southern ones (like Dordogne, cathar castles, etc.) ^^

Ahh...Loir Valley castles....I have visited some of them. I especially enjoyed Chambord because of its beauty and because it is connected to my country's history. A banished polish King lived there at one time. I have seen a lot of countries and in my opinion France is among the most beautiful if not the most beautiful. I enjoyed my time there very much.
