  • All words coming out of Harrison are wise

  • my father told me that he met the beatles in arahova in summer 67 i think...he told me an intersting story aboute that day.....

  • Too bad for Julian Lennon, he is in the water w/ a geeky and no air inner tube w/ a stupid yellow head out of it. Also, Julian also has to suffer John's smoking and Cynthia's Whole Foods body

  • KILLING BASS LINE ....EVER

  • Lets buy an island!

  • When I saw Jules, I almost popped!!!

  • we all have to be extremely grateful tothe people who decided to video tape everything the beatles did even if the beatles themselves hated it because now we can see our idols!!

  • Hey Jude was the Beatles biggest single ever it was never a B side to anything

  • Julian Lennon <3

  • I love this video :) SO cute

  • this is where gorillaz came in! beatles for ever!

  • This version is so much better than the remaster. I find the remastered versions have pushed the stereo too far, having a whole instrument in just one ear (especially when using headphones) gives one a headache and is not natural anyway (imagine you were listening to a band - you wouldn't hear the instrument in just one ear, even if it was on your left hand side). It's practically mono in one ear, not stereo.

Sometimes just because you can do something doesn't mean you should.

  • The Beatles are the very best ever band put together. PERIOD.

  • Coooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool Vidoe The Beatles Are My Hero

  • I love this song!.....Lennon's vocal is fantastic!!!!

  • wow paul at 1:36 made me drool

  • they wanted to buy Skiathos!!! i'm proud of being Greek!!! :) :) :)

  • Lovely video <3 Especially when they're dancing traditional Eastern Europe folk dance lol XD

    Proud to be Mediterranean ;)

  • @BeatlEPMJo haha it's traditional Greek dance! ;-)

  • wouldn't you just love to be on that boat, dancing around with the Beatles?

  • @mollehhhx haha it's traditional Greek dance! ;-)

  • mick jagger sang in the background on the chous

  • "We’d swoop down on the town and kill everyone that wasn’t beautiful"

  • that's what I say :-)

  • Just saw 'The Social Network'... score another one for this Lennon song... it's in the closing credits... appropriately enough. Thanks for posting this Jaga... awesome footage. I'm gonna say this is '67 and Julian was 4... maybe right before John left Cynthia. My favorite line.... "tuned to a natural E"

  • @kirks808 any idea what is the meaning of this line in the song

    "tuned to a natural E" ?

  • @imexcruciate I always assumed he was talking about the musical note or chord that they sing in that line...

  • @imexcruciate so much of the beatles lyrics are just bull shit that sounds really good. alot of the time they put lines in like that just to screw with people like you who think it all has a big meaning. I am the Walrus is a really good example of non-sense lyrics that people think have some big meaning.

  • ooh come mi piace come mi piace!

  • Cute of Ms Asher & Paul to care for Julian.

  • This was the B side of Hey Jude.

I still have the 45 somewhere.

  • @Richard2003 The B side of Hey Jude was Revolution. Baby You're A Rich Man was the B side to All You Need Is Love.

  • @MultiBill58 i think u have it backwards a side was Revolution and b side was Hey Jude

  • @hitgu1 Not sure if you say that because you prefer Revolution to Hey Jude or you think it was actually the A-side. If it's the former, a lot of people like Revolution more so I could understand that point of view. If it's the latter, than Hey Jude was unquestionably the A-side as it was not only designated as such, but spent nine weeks at #1 whereas Revolution peaked at #12.

  • @MultiBill58 i love them both and you're right i just looked at the 45 (which i own) and Hey Jude is in fact the A side

  • lmao Ringo lost his shoe in the water

  • i wish i lived in the 60's.

...too bad i was born in the 90's.

    great song, but of course.

i except nothing less from the beatles. :)

  • @OddlyRandomPro GENIUS KNOWS NO END.

  • just like to say i like it... everything i like is being yanked and erased by fukin big brother. lets say micro soft ? i really not sure.. but the shit disappearing fast! !!! as i say this today= 07-10-10

  • Never seen this video before! very coool...cute little Julian! :)

  • Poor mono mix !

  • I think this is such an underrated song. I love it because it was too weird and psychedelically very enchanting especially with the claviolin part. Even many people today who would hear this for the first time would say "WOW". I feel stoned hearing this but even without drugs, this feels good. How I'd wish I'd be one of the "beautiful people" too.

  • Beautiful People, indeed. God, John looks so incredibly cool in this. Everybody looked groovy, even Mal Evans!

  • "Baby youre a rich man" is one of the best beatle songs ! if u meet a person and there like "oh i dont like the beatles there old and there all dead .....' just tell them to look up 'baby youre a rich man' . then they can say whatever they wont to say about the beatles caz . I alway meet a person or now a peron who well say that . And i just wont to kill them caz they dont know what there taking about ! The beatles were this great rock band back in the 60s .

  • baby you're a rich, fag je-ew

    lol brian epstein

  • Great video shots, good choice :-)

  • how does it feel to be one of the beautiful people.......god why was i born in the 70s n not the early 60s.....sugar plum fairy sugar plum fairy..

  • "..and it came to nothing..and we just went home..."

    ha haha

  • my favorite song and band

i feel like i am soaring right next to a plane in a 360 swirl when the synchronizer plays at the beggining right after the bass

  • ugh, John looks sexy in those pink pants!

  • oh you keep all your money in a big brown bag inside the zoo what thing to do <3 :-)

  • I heard it was an island with four little islands around it. One for each Beatle. That would've been nice.........until they broke up.

  • @todd7416 all because of fucking yoko

  • and i am just in love with this song!! <3

  • @mellophonius:

really?? :O i never knew that!! hehehehe...thanks for telling, lol

  • i'm greek. i would've given em an island. hahaha

  • Haha! I'm Greek too and same here!

  • Yeah, you're a rich man too, i've got a baby you're a rich man real video, well, created by myself from the antholgy and magical mysterty tour clips. and the brian epstein tribute is cool!!!!

  • haha, this is the song that made me fall in love with the Beatles, believe it or not

  • @purpleiris12 Totally believeable- I have always loved this obscure track as well- it sums up the feeling of 1967 effortlessly.

  • @purpleiris12 Well that´s not very common, most of us start with good old She loves you

  • LOVE

  • I remember when it was a single before it was on Magical Mystery Tour

  • great song

  • 1:50 greek dance why they didnt the island?

  • It would have been Beatle Island.

  • Awwh at Julian and his dad at 1:44 :)

  • It's a combination of two uncompleted songs. "How does it feel to be one of the beautiful people" sung by John and "Baby your a rich man" by Paul.

  • First I've ever heard of it being 2 separate songs.

  • Yes, just like "I've got a feeling" from "Let it Be". It's the title song and "Everybody Had a Hard Year".

  • A Day In The Life was two separate songs too, John's part and Paul's part from the middle were different songs.

  • Yes, well A Day in the Life was well known to be 2 different songs, ever since 1967. For me hearing Baby You're A Rich Man being 2 different songs still seems a bit of a reach.

  • I know, I hadn't heard of Baby You're A Rich Man being two songs until a year or so ago. John wrote the verses (a song called "One of the Beautiful People") and Paul wrote the chorus ("Baby You're A Rich Man"). It's on the Wikipedia article for Baby You're A Rich Man - and yes, it is referenced, lol

  • I'm going to have to get my copy of Revolution in the Head back and look it up myself. Cheers mellophonius.

  • No problem, glad to help

  • Love Paul's bass on this track. AWESOME!!

  • I agree on Paul's bass on this track. It sounds like he's playing a fretless.

P.S. When they're circle dancing at the end it looks like they're at the Obersalzburg

  • videowatcher055, John was not nearly as close to Julian as he was to Sean. Cynthia (John's on again/off again GF) got pregnant with Julian in 1962, so she and John soon married. They were never incredibly happy together, and Julian was born during the early stages of Beatlemania, so John wasn't home much. Julian even noted being almost closer with Paul than John. Post-Beatles, when Yoko (the true love of his life) had his second son Sean, John became an ever-present family man & father figure.

  • I know that Julian and John really didn't spend that much time together, and Julian probably felt abandoned that John spent more time with Sean. However, Sean was born at a totally different time in John's life, not to mention Sean actually lived with him. So, I know you're right, but what I actually meant was just because John couldn't spend time with Julian doesn't mean he didn't want to. You're right, though I think they both should have put in the effort to know each other better.

  • @videowatcher055 did you know that Julian was not mention on John's will?

  • they dressed so well!

  • He is one of the masters of the universe to me. God bless John Lennon and his family. One of my favorite musicians, and genius. God Bless You John Lennon.

  • John did so spend time with Julian! Or, is this some "rare" occasion or something like that? Because whenever I read something about Julian Lennon tslking about John, he's always saying he never spent any time with him. Is that true?

  • wow cool footage!

  • Who's singing the high parts "How does it feel..." etc. John or Paul?

  • John

  • John

  • John

  • i'm pretty sure it's john as lead vocals, sounds like paul accompanies some parts though.

  • Yes, they sing the chorus together. It's John on main lead, though.

  • the most talented accomplished pop stars in the world. all they had was magic alex to sell them a greek island so it could be managed by greek alex. hmmm. beware the fukin greeks

  • why you speaking for greeks like this(fucking greeks),sorry but islands aren't private property.Wash your mouth when you speak about greeks

  • what the hell is that supposed to mean? like ya i was jjoking about the island thing too but to be serious you can't just sell people an island with inhabitants.we already were invaded by turks so we have a right to the land we have left so shut your mouth.

  • john met yoko in december 1966 so he already have know her man!!!

  • yeah, and the Beatles were definately rich enough to buy their own island way before 1966, so no, not necessarily

  • you spelled definitely wrong.

  • If they'd have just gone and lived on the island - John wouldn't have met Yoko. Beatle history would be very different, and probably a nicer ending.

  • My favorite part in the Anthology.

I just love when they're all dancing around in the circle. I don't know, it just gives me a good feeling.

  • @MagicalRevolverRoad haha it's traditional Greek dance! ;-)

  • john lennon did this whole song himself. he did not have any help from the others in recording this song. and the instrument that is used is called a harmonicord...but this is one of my favorite john songs...if you notice some of johns songs beatles and solo work are question and answer songs...like nobody told me...etc..i love this song because it is quintesential lennon....

  • Oh...well I heard a quite from George Martin saying paul played the bass on this song. And from hearing it it sounds like his playing.

  • i apologize if i am wrong then...i had a book called the abbey road studio outtakes and each time they where in the studio it was noted...who was there and who played what insturment etc..i was under the impression john did the song himself....life is very short and theres no time for fussing and fighting my friend..i have always thaught that its a crime...so i will ask you once again....try to see it my way.....take care.

  • They all played on this song. John & Paul combined 2 separate songs. Check wikipedia.

  • It is a well-known fact among Beatles fans that John and Paul wrote parts separately and combined it to make one song. John sings lead vocal here and plays piano and clavioline, George plays guitar and provided handclaps, Ringo, of course, plays the drums as well as tambourine and maracas... and that amazing bass is by Paul, of course. So saying that John alone played in this is just unfair to the other Beatles.

  • Comment removed

  • @maccabeat ..Another fact to one Beatle Fan, to another....Also in this song, you will hear Mick Jagger singing "The Baby Your A Rich Man" Along with the Beatles in this kick-ass song!!!

  • is they go holiday before shooting magic film??

    where?

  • Awesome bass work by Paul. I always crank the intro just to feel it reverb through the floor. It's every bit as funky as anything Flea has done, only 20 years earlier!

  • I love their whole look during this period. The hair, the clothes...Check out Paul's vest/beads/no-shirt combo at 1:17! Yum. That whole period (between the awful Pepper porn 'stache and the Let It Be hillbilly beard) Paul was especially gorgeous. Like some angel-faced hippie sex-god.

  • O_O

  • I LOVE this SONG, it has that childish sound to it....love=beatles.

  • I love you

  • Wow, I wish I could buy an island!

  • This is the best moment of all the Anthology series in my opinion: the song Baby Youre A Rich Man is always the song I love to listen to when I come back from the pub plastered and fall asleep to.

  • Peter Green gave his money away

  • And your point is what exactly?

  • My point is that it is obscene for anybody to have that much money when there are millions of people living in abject poverty. McCartney just paid out 53,400,000 to his ex wife.

  • I hear you, man...I hear you. If I ever get rich and famous, THAT'S where SOME of it will go.

John Lennon was a peace advocate and he contributed to the world (They sang "Give Peace a Chance" at the White House protest just before they ended the war in 'Nam.) and now, so is McCartney.

Beatles ROCK! Respect the classics, man

  • John Lennon was also a threat to the US gov't and a thorn in Nixon's side because of his courage to rouse Americans from their complacency and indifference to the war in Viet-Nam. He took crap from the govt. including threats of deportation--he ended up in Canada and re-entered the US as a Canadian?--do I have that right? I remember this but too young to remember the details. "The US vs. John Lennon" . I'm sure you might have seen this, but if not, try and catch it when you have time.

  • hace mucho que busqué este video y que bueno que lo hallé,,,gracias =)

  • I have this anthology where this is from! ^^

I just ADORE The Beatles. They are an obsession to me, GOD!! AWESOME!!

  • I like the beatles too and so does my dad scince they first began

  • too bad they didn't actually buy the island......Beatle Island would probably have been the most magical place in the world....

  • Who was John with at that time and whats the babys name? Thanks

  • His first wife Cynthia and his first son Julian.

  • aw man that was such a cute shot with him and his son at the end . it makes me sad cause of their strained relationship in the end.

  • LennonHarrison1967 u stole my fucking name

  • my fave moondoggie

  • One of the best bass lines ever written.

  • Agreed.... one of the best bass lines ever written... But that goes for a LOT of his very much under-appreciated bass lines.

One of the BEST bass players ever.......

  • Yeah, TedStriker, you are right.

I'm a bass player myself and I tell you that Paul's bass lines from Revolver to Abbey Road are pretty difficult to play.

I love specially the year 1967, when Paul changed his old violin-shaped Hoffner for a brand new (and I guess, very heavy) Rickembacker and, oh boy, the sound of that bass guitar in his hands is abosolutely something else!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yes! I just listened to it in Itunes with the Bass Boosted. It's awesome!

  • This made me smile so much.

Especially when they were dancing around in a circle. :D

  • @LennonHarrison1967 haha it's traditional Greek dance! ;-)

  • Why did this call this spam?

    It's the truth =/

    I've read it everywhere.

  • unfortunately 'tis the truth people!

  • no, jasonriggs, this is the truth! i don't know why its rated down, it's actually in a biography of the beatles. one verse still has those lyrics but i don't know which one...maybe someone could tell me?

  • Some say you can hear John say it alone at the end of the song. It's not definitive but I think I can kind of hear it, it's just covered up a lot by the voices of the other Beatles singing the published lyrics. Listen to just the song, not the Anthology version here.

  • makes me happy.

    :D

  • This is amazing footage!!!
