I used to really like Carly when she was on American Idol. And as much as I hated it when she got voted off, I'm glad she did. I'm so much happier that she has this successful band instead of becoming some solo artist from shit Idol. This suits her so much better. I don't think she's like Amy Lee at all nor is she trying to copy Amy. Both are unique in their own ways and if there's a similarity between the two, so what? There are TONS of bands out there that are similar to one another.
There's only /one/ Amy Lee, and Ben Moody just hates that he made the wrong choice and /left/ her. She is so perfect with her voice, and Ben is trying to dictate that by making Carly sound like Amy. I strongly dislike him for many reasons, but I mainly dislike him for this: Evanescence was originally We Are the Fallen, and when Ben left, he took the original name and dragged more people into it--including this female. He lacks creativity, and originality.

Most of the members of We Are the Fallen are ex-Evanescence members and the ex-members were founders of the Genre of music Evanescence made so yes there is going to be striking resemblances in music and besides almost any song has similar rhythms to an older song. No song is 100% original that's just music fact so all songs are related rhythmically in a sense if you break it down into individual notes and rhythms.

I don't see how there could be a problem with this band being similar to Evanescence, they are called "We Are The Fallen" because of Evanescence's debut album, and because three of the members are former Evanescence members who feel as if they've been shafted by Amy Lee. I really like this band, i really like the influence of the guitar player whose name i can't recall right now, but since he left evanescense the band change in a way which i didn't relally like that much, this was the sound they had with him and this is the sound of this new band. she replaced the evanescence members who moved to WATF (four of the original five, i believe) and is now working on a new album that was set to come out fall/winter 2010 but got pushed. =] she didn't like, die or anything, even though we haven't heard news in forever.

I think Evanescence is a much better band, HOWEVER, I don't hate on We Are the Fallen. This is a very good song, and there's no denying that it's very similar to some of the songs from Evanescence's first album; it's the same formula, and I think that's why I like it so much! But as I said, I will always be a die hard Evanescence fan. I don't believe Carly is trying to be Amy Lee. I really don't. As someone said, this was her dream. Of course she took up the opportunity. Anyway. Love this song!

Both Amy Lee and Carly Smithson are great vocalists, and I love both bands equally. Ben Moody co-wrote a lot of the songs for Evanescence, and I assume he's doing the same with We Are The Fallen, so it's only natural for them to sound similar. I, however, have heard Smithson perform old Evanescence songs and I just don't think they're a good fit for her voice. The songs that she is doing now, the ones that are her own - are perfect.

Yes she sounds like Amy, don't delude yourselves. Is this bad? Hell no. The band picked her up after watching her cover of Bring me to life, so its only par for the course. WATF is Ben Moody's slap to Amy for kicking him out, which I didn't like to begin with, but he knows what sounds good. So while Eva is still doing ballads like its a christmas special, WATF sounds like old Eva which is stellar, and wanted.

There may be similarities but that is to be expected as any well crafted musician will attain a certain individual style over time. This album is EPIC fail and further demonstrates how when band members try to break away from the main draw of a band (Amy Lee) they more often than not fail.
The WATF album barely sold over 20,000 copies, not only is that not Gold,..it`s not even Brass or Tin,...maybe TINFOIL. Tin Foil=`s 20,000 copies sold lol.
Clearly the label they were under will not be supporting another money losing endeavor from WATF.
the song is awesome but the lead singer's voice isn't the most adequate one for this kind of song.

Well I have listened to some more songs of this band. And I must say it is now my third favourite band. (Right behind Within Temptation and Rammstein.)
I love love love Amy Lee and I was a big Carly fan when she was on Idol, I don't have a problem with their new songs, what I HATE is how they're still doing older Evanescence stuff. I feel like that isn't respectful to Amy really. They should stick with new, original things and stay away from Evanescence songs, they're supposed to be We Are the Fallen. Both are good bands though. I like both singers but I'll always have more loyalty toward Amy. She was here first.

I don't see how there could be a problem with this band being similar to Evanescence, they are called "We Are The Fallen" because of Evanescence's debut album, and because three of the members are former Evanescence members who feel as if they've been shafted by Amy Lee. Whose fault is was does not matter, they helped create the sound of Evanescence so they have as much right to perform music that way as Evanescence does. How can you rip off what you helped create?

the comparisons are old, tiring, boring, and now silly. Carly has had this voice for as long as I can remember. You might as well say she is a "brunette wannabe." While everyone else bitches, plays General Hospital, and pretends they work for Rolling Stone, I will enjoy the fact that I now have two bands who create the kind of music I really enjoy

I really like this band, i really like the influence of the guitar player whose name i can't recall right now, but since he left evanescense the band change in a way which i didn't relally like that much, this was the sound they had with him and this is the sound of this new band. I'll follow this band it is great. And yeah Amy lee is cool too i just dont like how they make things now xD

Just because Amy kicked someone out, or they just quit and made a new bad doesn't mean they are a copy, and if you hate this, you might as well hate evanescence. I think Evanescence is a much better band, HOWEVER, I don't hate on We Are the Fallen. This is a very good song, and there's no denying that it's very similar to some of the songs from Evanescence's first album; it's the same formula, and I think that's why I like it so much! But as I said, I will always be a die hard Evanescence fan. I don't believe Carly is trying to be Amy Lee. I really don't. As someone said, this was her dream. Of course she took up the opportunity. Anyway. Love this song!

Both Amy Lee and Carly Smithson are great vocalists, and I love both bands equally. Ben Moody co-wrote a lot of the songs for Evanescence, and I assume he's doing the same with We Are The Fallen, so it's only natural for them to sound similar. I, however, have heard Smithson perform old Evanescence songs and I just don't think they're a good fit for her voice. The songs that she is doing now, the ones that are her own - are perfect.

vocals aside, i really prefer We Are The Fallen's musics rather than Evanescence's. i remember i bought ev's 1st album hoping that the album would sound like their first single "bring me to life" and i was disappointed. its really just musical preference, so ev fans dont get mad or anything, but i think WATF's sound is what i've been hoping evanescence to sound like in the first place, so if u give me WATF's musics with amy lee's vocals, then its PERFECT.

Yes she sounds like Amy, don't delude yourselves. Is this bad? Hell no. The band picked her up after watching her cover of Bring me to life, so its only par for the course. WATF is Ben Moody's slap to Amy for kicking him out, which I didn't like to begin with, but he knows what sounds good. So while Eva is still doing ballads like its a christmas special, WATF sounds like old Eva which is stellar, and wanted.

Said it once but ... They're a great band with a distinctive sound and style separate from what came before. There may be similarities but that is to be expected as any well crafted musician will attain a certain individual style over time. It's everyone’s right to voice their own opinion but do you not think your efforts would be better spent bigging up your personal favourites on their own pages rather than putting your efforts into trying to diminish musicians who deserve to be here!!!

This album is EPIC fail and further demonstrates how when band members try to break away from the main draw of a band (Amy Lee) they more often than not fail.
The WATF album barely sold over 20,000 copies, not only is that not Gold,..it`s not even Brass or Tin,...maybe TINFOIL. Tin Foil=`s 20,000 copies sold lol.
Clearly the label they were under will not be supporting another money losing endeavor from WATF.

I love love love Amy Lee and I was a big Carly fan when she was on Idol, I don't have a problem with their new songs, what I HATE is how they're still doing older Evanescence stuff. I feel like that isn't respectful to Amy really. They should stick with new, original things and stay away from Evanescence songs, they're supposed to be We Are the Fallen. Both are good bands though. I like both singers but I'll always have more loyalty toward Amy. She was here first.
