I'm 15 years old and this man is one of my biggest idols. Maybe, one day, I'll also be a basejumper. Jeb Corliss is one of the greatest men ever. The jump from 0:00 to 10:54 are the best ones.

Starting young is good but before Basejumping you need to conquer skydiving. 200 jumps will roughly help you gain the experience needed to contemplate BASE jumping, then there's many other factors. It's all also quite expensive, so get studying, get a good job, keep a level safe head and don't rush anything if you get there but go for it. Learning skydiving is probably the best thing I've done with my life I think.

@philosoful Thanks for the reaction, i know it is expensive. I live in The Netherlands and there is an airport where you can learn how to skydive, but it's 1270,- euros and after that i have to make more jumps to get what we call A-brevet, it means that i can jump alone, without someone else for secure you know. When 've done that I already lost like 3000 euros i think xD but i'm sure it's worth it =D

Yeah, AFF we call it here (England) Accelerated Free Fall/the course to learn to jump solo. Done my 40th jump last week! It's bliss but every proximity flyer you see on here has probably spent at least £10,000 on all the gear and a helllll of a lot of time practising being so precise. That being said, I would never discourage someone sensible of working towards this, it's pretty much my life goal now and at 21 years of age I think I can make it happen. Hope you do too, blue skies!

When someone asks me what I hope to accomplish in BASE jumping i refer to this video because in my opinion it is the epitome of the lifestyle; finding objects to flick and travelling the world in search of the "perfect" jump. With a HUGE Foam Pit/Wall at the end...

OR...

Just strap some special skateboards to the knee/shins, and Flare to a Sliding-on-the-Knees position on any smooth road...

@AvidCyclist : It's a A LOT, I mean A LOT complicated than drawing a sketch on a napkin to your specification(s) and building it -- it's a good starting point though. AFAIK Jeb has teamed up with a decent engineering team to make it happen. I think they are building it in vegas. Remember:: Testing it will be a huge challenge -- humans have only one life :) It would be pretty revolutionary though IMO. I am going ti take a B.A.S.E course in 5 months. Family is against it though :P
