  • Six people never use "gasoliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine".

  • I remember this on HBO back in the early 80's

  • inglorious basterds brought me here

  • Shosanna!

  • his voice makes me wanna get naked! and let the sexy out;-)

  • @1883luvangel whoop!!! lol

  • BASTARDOS INGLÓRIOS!!!

  • @Halamo22 A Marca da Pantera :P

  • Bowie is the Master

  • David Bowie is god!!!!!

  • i turned to my mum, who is also a massive Bowie fan, the other day and said, "PUTTING OUT FIRE!" and she replied, "WITH VASELINE!" xD

  • @JollyHolly1410 could be soooooooooo great aht you could sing a song like this with your mum ... this kind of music is sooo great... I live at the 80´s in a wrong world in a wrong house ..... in Mexico !! the city was fine but I identify myself living in a usa city growing up with parents, friends, young parties with this music ... I´m living a parallel life when I have the time to hear this music... it´s a gift ... cheers to all tha are part of this culture !!!!

  • Brilliantly used in inglorious basterds!

  • I like his hat.

  • so 80s

  • He looks sooo skinny! :(

  • Was this sung during Bowie's Thin White Duke phase? Please let me know

  • @jarvxxx

Bowie's "Think White Duke Period" was largely centered around his 1976 album Station to Station. I think that era began during the recording of that album in the autumn of 1975 and the end of his tour in summer 1976. Cat People was originally released as a single in 1982, but he rerecorded it for his 1983 album Let's Dance. This video was shot on the Let's Dance supporting tour, The Serious Moonlight Tour, in 1983.

So no. This was seven years after his Thin White Duke Period.

  • @jarvxxx no THD was mid-seventies, this is eighties

  • thumbs up if u think this song is too good for the level of inglorious basterds movie

  • Simply amazing.

  • <3<3<3<3<3<3<3

  • from which year is this video??

  • SHUT UP AND ENJOY THE MUSIC

    ╭∩╮(︶︿︶)╭∩╮

  • kickass version, by the way!

  • that hairdo, I don't know.

  • 1:00 Like!

  • WTF THAT GUITAR IS CRAZY!!! WHOSE PLAYIN??!

  • @edthewise

That's Earl Slick, an Italoamerican, who worked also on station to station

  • Cat people run... run like the wind; Cat people screw... screw like the wind!

  • Who's the lead guitarist, Carlos Alomar?

  • The four dislikes are from Cat People

  • Now I know where Lady Ga Ga gets her "image" from The Thin White Duke!

  • I think there should be a new musical classification for Bowie alone: How about something like "Solar Soul?" Or "Pan-Galactic Modulation?" Incredible man, indescribable talent.

  • Well, if Stevie Ray hadn't insisted on equal billing, he would have been on this tour. It was simply too early in his career to take such a stance, despite his incredible talent!

  • Well, if Stevie Ray didn't insist on equal billing, he would have been on this tour. It was too early in his career to take that strong stand, despite his incredible talent.

  • don' get wrong I am a huge Bowie fan! but this song is not the same without Stevie Ray on lead guitar!!!.......ziggy played guitar!!!

  • "Incredible talent" is how I would describe Bowie. I saw this concert -Serious Moonlight Tour- in Tacoma when I was 16 and he was then and still remains in my eyes one of the greatest entertainers (he's got three generations of fans in my family - my Mom who is 65, me 45 and both my daughters 17 & 15)...Ziggy played guitar.....and so much more

  • That guitarist is LOADED.

  • 2 people are dog people

  • Love this song - his voice is amazing. Saw this Serious Moonlight show in Philly 3 nights in a row. I love how Earl Slick leaps out of the shadows for the guitar solos. I remember seeing the movie Cat People just to listen to Bowie - movie was good, but very strange.

  • @sharonbowie: Earl's "Guitar Hero" moves were over the top, but the man can play!

  • bowies biggest mistake..not wanting to pay stevie ray vaughn the extra coin to get him on this tour...woulda been truly legendary..but that being said.. still this pulsing night...a plauge i call a heartbeat....now tell me people is that not genius lyrics???

  • nut *n~

  • He looks like Gary Glitter in this Video.

  • Nice perm!

  • i would like to start the pole shift survival group, or join the existing one.

let me know if u r interested.

  • cameleon!

  • I like dogs, but I'm more of a Cat Person :)

  • Went to this concert - fan-freakin-tastic! If you see this sweeno shoot me a note :-)

  • beautiful

  • I just L>O>V>E it...

  • man, I love his voice. LOVE you david, you are amazing

  • been loving Bowie since way back when

    still do

    but, where is his butt?

  • somehow everything he says i'm doing

  • why does an ad by google show up in song before it's over?

  • Mr. Bowie is so kick ass and hot! WOOOO!

  • I will be renting Basterds tommorow - I bought this album on vinyl as a first release. Bad ass then and now. The studio version has Stevie Ray Vaughn on guitar - that guy smokes this guitarist.

  • It has been so long since a performance or a performer like David Bowie has been seen - see him here in all his glory - Putting Out Fire!!!

  • Oh, look, it's TOMMY STONE!

  • I agree with people about his Olive Garden waiter outfit but Bowie is a God! People may try to be him, but he's untouchable.

  • theres a much better version of this song on the underworld evolution soundtrack

  • Amazing song/scene match in Inglourious Basterds. Another great musical scene from QT!

  • This was a weird era in Dave's career. Why the hell did he think it was so cool to dress like an Olive Garden waiter?

  • @vegetablemagnetism that funny.lol i also agree.

  • Was this during his "Thin White Duke" era?

  • @njva17420 No. Serious Moonlight Tour 1983 - 1984

  • @vegetablemagnetism Why do you go to Olive Garden?

  • Joder!!! tan lejos en el tiempo y aun sigue levantando pasiones!! como las canciones y los directos de antes no hay nada!!

  • perfect song for Inglorious Basterds!

  • I just came..

  • OMG!! Badass!

  • it rocked in inglorious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i love both versions of this song!!!

  • totally agree!!

  • Buen guitarreo, si señor....

  • inglorious basterds

  • "INCREDIBLE" another superb performance from the MASTER"......T.F.P.

  • good song wonder if the movie inglorious bastereds was made just for this song?just kidding all tho the song is pure genius for the sceane in the movie.you gotta see the movie to know what i mean

  • Should have used the version from 'Let's Dance' though but agreed.

  • brilliant video and song

  • how is everyone? :) can someone add me ( i'm new i just got it like a week ago ) PLZ add me someone :)

  • is that Frampton on guitar?

  • nope, Earl Slick was

  • i am not sure if it is frampton but i know on the let's dance album it is stevie ray vaughn on guitar.

  • It would have been Stevie Ray if Bowie wasn't such a penny pincher, he offered

Stevie "union-scale" to tour, that's mininum wage for musicians - Stevie

told him where to stick it!!

  • This tour was Earl Slick live. For the recording, it would be during his Vaughn era but I would ahve to look up the recording to be sure.

  • that's Earl Slick

  • heard this song in Terantino's inglorious basterds. superb.

  • sensacional!!!!!!

  • Ça tabasse...

  • uru smelly

  • Absolutely terrific wonderfuly bad that they put this song in the movie!!!

  • they did in inglorious bastaerds (Y)

  • awesome song

  • They put this song into that movie? Awesome. Now I'm inclined to go see it.

  • I've never heard this song before but when it started playing in Inglorious Bastards i automatically thought BAD-ASS. And that part where shes putting on her make up and has the two red streaks i instantly thought of Bowie.

  • Inglourious, not Inglorious

  • and not bastards but basterds ;)

  • lukesterguy, okkiejam: Are you two English teachers?

  • doggie, in this rare case it was appropriate for lukesterguy and okkiejam to be pedants.

  • why did you think of bowie when she had the two red streaks in her face? is it because of the lightning thing he had in his face? because if quentin tarantino had the intention to refer to david bowie with that, that would be quite interesting

  • @akapiccolo watch Cat Peoplemovie, there was the song first

  • @akapiccolo watch Cat People movie, there was the song first

  • David Bowie has a ridiculously versatile voice, and this seriously was the best possible song for Inglourious Basterds.

  • @MelloMovesYou COMPLETELY AGREED!!

  • dude awesome song, awesome movie

  • this song was perfect placement in inglorious basterds

  • Totally agree. Great movie.

  • Absolutely. Fits so well

  • It's in the last Tarantino's OST...

    Surprising but brilliant !

  • this song shows a true performers incredible vocal range.

  • I watched the movie cat people when i was like seven or so and I didn't realize who had been singing in the begining. i asked my mom, and she was unsure....crazy thing because she likes David Bowie's music and style, however probably not more than me...

  • Damn, Bowie's sexy.

  • Giorgio Moroder a composé la partie instrumentale il me semble.*****

  • Who's that playing Lead Guitar,anybody know?

  • earl slick !!!

  • it isn't SRV, that's for sure. this guy is a spaz. still a kick ass performance by Bowie though.

  • zippy, about that time would have been carlos alomar

  • "I've been putting out fires with gasoline ..." Classic.

  • David Bowie is a musical genius always changing and always head of his time

  • hahahah don't mock the guitarist, he's only doing his thing (at the time,) ....the age of extravagant, weird, ejaculatory solos...

(I kinda like how he hits the same note often..)
