But others like Zakk Wylde, for instance...who went shred-head on like 20,000 people and made the National Anthem sound like crap...that was bad. And Satriani could have played this in a more technical way...he's one of the world's best. He did it simply so it would sound better and not just be a bunch of shred stuff. At least he has common sense, unlike the others.

well a lot of people here are trashing jimi's version, because he "raped" it and added more than needed. but if you understand this, he played that version during a time of war, it represented the war as a whole the best way he could through strings and an amp.

i dont think satriani stayed true to this entirely cuz he showed no feeling in this version. he ran through it like he was trying to get off the field and into the restroom ASAP.
