  • ok the kid is obviously ripped but those curls were terrible form adn hes 155 n im 160 n hes more ripped then me n i bench 10 more lbs then him so thats wierd cuz i thinku coulda dnt more on the bench.

  • lol... your definately usuing way too much weight on your curling bar, becuase your form went to shit real fast. Abviously what you are doing is working for you, but new lifters need to remember that Form is the biggest issue with lifting, not the amount of weight. learn to work the muscle FIRST, then add on the heavy weight...

  • It is plain hard work. Every day three times a day he is on the wieghts. he pushes himself harder than anyone else I've ever seen. Constantly setting tougher goals for curls or lifts etc. Give the kid credit !!!

  • Hey is there anything you did that made your stronger before beginning to lift weights? You seem to be very strong for only workout out for a year. I've been working out seriously for only about 7 months now and nowhere near where you are. Also, do you have any tips on how to improve your bench press? I've been stuck at the same weight for over 2 months now and it's very frusterating to get over that hump. Thanks a lot man and good luck in the future!!

  • No. Nothing special. He was bored and had no transportation and nothing to do to get away from every day things so started working out hard. First lifts were in the 135# range for the bench press. His first max on bench was 145# LOL. He is a very determined guy. When he puts his mind to it he will get it done. His goal was 250# bench press by 18 YO. He got that so easily that he made a new goal of 300# bench by 18 and did that also.

  • When he works out it is very intense. The vids do not show that very well. He is slowing it down so I can get it on camera. He goes from bench to curls to push ups to pull ups to flys to triceps curls so fast it is dizzying. Always maxing out on the weight and reps till he is worn out. Amazing to watch.

  • I want to know how long it has taken him to develop those biceps, they look like baseballs.

  • Almost one year ago. Did it a lot at first and tapered off a bit. Now works out about 3 times a week but each workout is intense.

  • Somebody else asked (w. any reply), but what IS his eating plan like? Does he drink lots of protein shakes and eat little or the other way around? I'm trying to get my abs to show and I can feel them, but not yet see them...

  • He eats like a typical teenager, but just a bit less. He says that you have to starve to have good abs, but he is really kidding about that. He knows he has to eat to build mass and that is his immediate goal. No suppliments. Loves chocolate LOL. Typical teenager stuff.

  • Josh is doing preacher curls with the 115# barbell 8 reps, then 5, then 4. His max bench is 305# once. He does 3- 4 rep sets with 275#. He does 4 10 rep sets with 225#. 5 ten rep set of flys on the machine with 160# and can do 2 reps with that weight and his GF who weight 115 standing on it. Astonishing to see. I'll try to get it on tape this week.

  • The only workouts that he does for his shoulders are the shrug with 40# dunbells.  usually 4 sets of 10, and for the other he lifts 20# dumbells out to each side while standing. He does 5 sets of 10 and at the top of each lift holds it for a count of five.

Im 15 and just accomplished 275x4 last saturday. But Leg lifts are harder to build up and I would like to see this guy doing deadlift or squat or something like that...

  • A 275# bench press is impressive. This kid has amazing potential and a great attitude, very inspiring. Great vids!

  • No drugs, no chemicals just plain old hard work and dedication. I have never seen anyone with as much drive as him. Bench pressed 275# last week. 125 lbs more than he weighs. He is just 30# shy of double his body weight. He'll hit double his body weight in 6 months or less. (probably a LOT less). How many other people can do that? I'll post the vid of the 275# lift this week. I just posted these so some people would be inspired by him. Jeees guys give the kid a break !!

  • If you have ever seen a person that uses 'roids, you would realize he doesn't. As for the "vanity muscles" comment...you do realize not everyone wants to be a pot bellied guy benching 500 lbs. Some people train to look good. It is called "bodybuilding". It's this new phenomenon...sweeping the nation.

    And what is the purpose of a big bench again? Oh yeah ego boost in the gym from men. What is the purpose of a nice looking body? Oh yeah, ego boost from girls that think you are hot.

  • Bodybuilders aren't as strong as they look, that's the big problem I have with them. When you devote so much time to real overall strength, you look down on people who do it only for vanity. So he's ripped at 155lbs, big deal. I was at 10% bodyfat at 200lbs With a 305lb bench, 410lb squat, 200lb clean, and a 435lb deadlift, I look down upon people who look like they got it, but don't. When I played football, real strength won games, not cool uniforms...
