No actually he paid out money bc his 5th amendment rights to not have to go to civil and criminal court at the same time were violated. Look back at the 1st case. The judge ALLOWED a denial of his 5th amendment rights and let the state pursue criminal investigation at the same time the civil lawsuit was happening, which violated rights to not be twice charged for the same crime (double jeopardy).
In normal cases, a victim would wait for the criminal charges to be brought and use that as evidence against the accused. In this case however, there was no evidence to bring charges, and the 'victim' pushed for a speedier trial based on being a minor, so the defense only had 120 days to create a case.
It was speculated that they were trying all they could to speed up the trial because once the criminal investigation yielding nothing (and it didn't) the civil case would loose the air in it's sails. Think about it- if there had been evidence the case would have gone to trial. you cannot buy your way out of a criminal trial, no matter how much money you have.

I don't believe OJ killed Nicole. I watched and taped the trial from beginning to its end. Guys, i just have to say this please do read it.

I dont think it was Jordie's fault the allegations started, but his dad Evan's fault. 1. Jordie was good friends with Michael, and Evan felt Michael was replacing him as a dad, so started the allegations as revenge.
2. Jordie wrote a film called 'men in tights' , but Michael wouldnt fund it, so Evan started the allegations to get money for it, and for himself out of greed.
so yeah it wasnt Jordie's fault really :/

There's the criminal background of one out two families, the phone call talking about how he was going to sabotage Michael's career, and one of the kids saying for himself: "Everyone thinks Michael raped me. He never touched me." 15 years of sleeping in a bed with a kid? How come I'm not in jail? -_-

No actually he paid out money bc his 5th amendment rights to not have to go to civil and criminal court at the same time were violated. Look back at the 1st case. The judge ALLOWED a denial of his 5th amendment rights and let the state pursue criminal investigation at the same time the civil lawsuit was happening, which violated rights to not be twice charged for the same crime (double jeopardy).

In this case however, there was no evidence to bring charges, and the 'victim' pushed for a speedier trial based on being a minor, so the defense only had 120 days to create a case.

It was speculated that they were trying all they could to speed up the trial because once the criminal investigation yielding nothing (and it didn't) the civil case would loose the air in it's sails. Think about it- if there had been evidence the case would have gone to trial. you cannot buy your way out of a criminal trial, no matter how much money you have.

It is interesting to note that Mike's assets were being watched during this trial, so any so called- payouts would have been visible to the public, especially considering his motion to Stay was denied, meaning that the media had access to these records and information. it was the first thing the media asked for. Again, do some research.

Well you cannot really compare because Mike wasn't gay and never had any young lovers. I DO see what you are saying about how the media portrays people. Had they portrayed the truth and not sensationalized the case, many many misinformed people would have better understanding. For instance, the extortion case against chandler was never focused on. Chandler and Rothman were scared to death but the public had no idea- why? Because the media simply didn't advertise it.

I don't believe OJ killed Nicole. I watched and taped the trial from beginning to its end. Evidence: the shoe size at the crime scene, the glove that didn't fit, the time line and the barking dog, the blood on the back gate with perservative in it that they use in a laboratory two weeks into the trial, the children stated to the police that some man was arguing with their mother, not their daddy, etc..etc..You obviously only looked at sound bits from the media. OJ was setup.
