Your way works - but isn't quite right to the original - and sounds a little different at volume and hitting the guitar hard.

Also the riff isn't the same each time - it goes D-Asus-A the first time, the D-A (like shown here) the 2nd time.

Not trying to be a prick.  Just pointing out the differences to play it ...well...right.

what you're playing is incorrect. The rhythm is wrong. You're missing a section after the D chord. So if you try to play this with the original recording, you're missing a section...

I agree with you. There also is this part where you actually play open strings. First chord, second chord you strum down start moving to the third chord while you strum up (which gives this extra tone too) and after that you have a low tone being played before going back to the first chord again. That is the real song anyway I don't play guitat hero so :P

Between 1:00-1:06, I think you meant open a, then second fret D string instead of G string, and then second fret G string instead of--well, you all know. I can understand your mistake here.
