  • Thanks Dude!

  • can some one show me about he Camry older1998 to 2001 please

  • Thanks Dude!... My filter cost me $23 at PEP Boys... Toyota wanted $59 plus tax to do the job... After watching your video... looks easy enough... I'm going to go change mine right now... also for viewers information... windshield wippers... if you buy them at PEP Boys, they'll install them for free, takes about 15 seconds...

  • Great Video. FYI - My local Toyota dealer wanted $180 to clean the filter, rotate the tires and change the oil. Needless to say - That's NOT gonna happen.

  • Great DIY project with big savings. Purchased filter at Pep Boys at first but when I looked at it I knew it was vastly overpriced at $21. Returned it and bought one on eBay for $8. 5 minutes later disgusting old filter was replaced. Thanks!

  • Thank you! Didn't even take 5 minutes, except for removing the giant mouse nest and washing out the glove box! My first car "repair" ever!! :)

  • Ordered mine online. $19 including S&H on Amazon. Took me 5 min to swap it out. None of that $45 business at JiffyLube..

  • Thank you so much for this tutorial! You helped me save $40!!!!

  • I'm so glad for the Internet and YouTube and ppl like u who help others thank you those damn over price mechanics

  • My toyota Avalon 2002 doesn't have that screw so how do lower the glove box to access that cabin air filter.

  • THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!!! The filter in my car hadn't been changed since the car was first purchased in 2003!!! I am the second owner of the car and started noticing a weird smell coming from my camry. I took it to toyota but for some odd reason they told me the car didn't have a filter. I got curious and checked out ur video. Found my filter and you wouldn't believe all the crap that was stuck to it. Dead snails and dust bunnies the size of cougars.. hehe Now i got me a clean one. Thanx.

  • @seabee49 oh the irony, same story here! xD

  • This really is a very simple DIY project that anyone who can turn a screwdriver can do. If it's your first time replacing the Cabin Air Filter, you'll likely have it done in about 5 min. Also, save yourself some money by checking around for a replacement filter. Our local Toyota dealer here on the east coast of Canada wanted $45. Instead, I picked up one at our local Canadian Tire store for $20.

  • Unfortunately it looks like Toyota didn't start including a cabin filter until mid year 2002. My 2002 Solara was made 12/01. I want to ask the dealer if the housing for one can be installed.

  • Does this apply to a 2000 Camry LE?

  • If you are planning to buy the best used car in Des Moines, visit the World of Wheels.

  • awecome! thanks!!

  • Is there a cabin air filter on the Toyota Camry LE 2.2 L manufactured in June of 2001? Thanks. I can't seem to find it.

  • wow toyota worst place to place the air filter. If I let toyota change the air filter for me they gotta open place with you put all your insurance, car stuff, secrets etc. And some toyota employees are stealers.

  • how do i change for my 96 toyota avalon

  • hey how do i change the cabin filter for my 96 toyota avalon xl or where is it located

  • thanks for this awesome video..I'm a female, and I'm about to do something the service dept. at Toyota would charge like 80 dollars for!

  • great you saved me 40 bucks just for watchin your video thank you now i can do it myself

  • Do you know how to replace cabin air filter in Camry 2000?

  • Thanks. It worked.

  • Thanks! No more need to have someone so it for 4X the cost of the filter.

  • THANK YOU

  • I did it!

I paid the Toyota dealer $59.95 previously to do this but no more!

    Thank you.

  • I did it! That capitalist Toyota dealer got me one time on this. $59.95! But no more!

    Thanks!

  • The air conditioner in my 2002 Camry XLE recently started acting up - it will work somewhat for a few minutes after the car starts up, but then the green light on the AC button starts blinking and the air gets warmer. Yesterday it blew some dust out of the vents. Does this sound like a problem with the cabin air filter? The blowing dust had me thinking that. This video is very helpful, thanks! I took the filter out and it's pretty dirty, so I'll try cleaning it and see if that helps.

  • @nmcnear Update... Went ahead and cleaned it a few minutes ago - when I first beat the filter against a rail, a HUGE cloud of dust came out (my Camry does more off-roading than the average SUV). I beat the filter for a while, then vacuumed it thoroughly, then beat it for several more minutes and put it back in the car. Hopefully that will do the trick!

  • Thanks for taking the time to do this video ... changing filter was easy!!

  • Do not see any instructions for 2008 SCION XB...Suppose the filter is behind the glove box??? Anyone know before I embarass myself and tear apart the wrong part of the dash...Thanks in advance...

  • Thank you for the video. I managed to change mine in couple of minutes because of this video. Also, I bought mine from Wal-Mart for $16 (for 2003 Camry - Fram part number CF-10132). On the side of the new filter there is an arrow that points to the air flow. That arrow should be pointing down when you install it since air moves from top to bottom. Other filters may not have the arrow so don’t worry about it.

  • go toyota!

  • Did it help the HVAC flow when you changed?

  • thanks a lot man !

  • Thank you! I'm going to change my cabin filter. Toyota wants to charge me $60 to do it.

  • THANK YOU!!!! this was such a great gift to me -- you rock, helpful person!

  • Thanks for posting this. I just replaced my cabin air filter on my 2006 Avalon. It was the same except that the cover for the filter was black instead of white.

  • I found that NAPA sells the cabin air filter for $19.99. Pep Boys has one for $49.95. What a difference! I don't know if their is any major differences between brands

  • @davinp Well, sense it dosent have any part of the engine i would go with the cheap one i only put high priced air filters in my engine.

  • @cookaacoo is this necessary? and when it is time to replace the filter?

  • @csidaznigga Its necessary if you care for the air condition flow/ odor/ pollen. The filter traps pollen and in doing so may start to smell or become so clogged that you may notice a difference in your cars airflow. i change mine by the look of it sometimes i take it out and vacuum it, but every 7,000 miles you can change it.

  • @cookaacoo i see , so i must open teh compartment to order to do this right? does this go for all cars?

  • @csidaznigga for most Toyota and Honda yes, just open the glove box and take everything out then remove the screw/cable depending on the car.

  • @davinp It is on eBay for about $10-$15 (depends on the s/h charges variations mostly) . You can get even charcoal one.

  • thank you very much; just saved me a lot of effort and time!

  • I have '03 Camry. In addition to the cabin air filter, their is another filter in the engine. It is in the black rectangular box,, on the driver's side, behind the battery. The problem is that it is bolted down, instead of latches. If anybody knows how to remove them please let me know

  • Thank you very much! it saved me $31

  • I have a 2004 Avalon. When I lower the glove box I can't remove the filter because there is a plastic panel w/ a slot that unfortunately does not line up w/ the filter. It looks like the only way to access the filter is to remove a section of the dash. Too scary 4 me. Any thoughts?

  • Thank you very much.

  • Thanks for the very clear instructions. I couldn't figure it out, but your video made it simple!

  • Thank you sooooo much! You just saved me some $! I'll forever change the cabin air filter on my own. Woo-hoO!

  • Thank you sooo much. I have a Scion XB that has a cabin air filter behind the dash too, hopfully this will help. I'm sure it's similar since they are both made by Toyota, they use camery engine.

  • thanks

  • thank you!

  • Thank you so much for posting this! I just bought a 2005 Camry and I'm working on removing an odor problem in the the air circulation system and changing this filter was part of the plan. But I didn't want to break the glove box trying to figure it out. Your video gives me the confidence to do it!

  • I looks like you put the filter in 90° out. Two sides of the filter have strong-ish felt bars glued to it, to help keep the filter's pleated shape. The bars should be tucked under the plastic tabs of the filter holder. In other words, the peaks and the valleys of the filter element should be running to the left and right. Yours look like they are running from the rear of your car to the front.

  • Perfect - I was able to change my own filter after watching this. My Camry is a 2006 and is just the same as this.

  • good to know i was thinking on geting a 2009 camry soon..

  • nice video though you did not mention about the direction of placing the filter inside the filter housing. both the filter and the housing should point in the up direction. pep boys has purolator filter for 19.99.

  • @cutespice I tested the air flow with smoke and air flow is downward not up.
