Life on planets is rare and where it occurs it has much possibility to be destroyed by a cosmic event such as meteor-collision, supernovas, magnetars, black holes etc. If that planet is lucky enough to avoid all this and sustain life for long, life evolves into a more intelligent form and finally destroys itself by fatally altering the eco-system of the planet. One way or another life is doomed. .p
