Tai chi not only show people that you are trying to slow down your speed and pretend you are soft. This group of people, by looking at it, is still external energy. Nothing internally.Try to control with your mind and forget about breathing first.
Rubbish. You can't learn taiji from a DVD. Not only will you not learn it correctly, but you run a significant risk of injury. Though I've studied taiji for 35 years, with some of the greatest teachers on earth, I don't expect anyone to be as committed to it as I have been. Nevertheless, find an experienced teacher who will teach you an actual form, and commit yourself to spending some real time and effort, and the rewards will be immeasurable.
@ShenSpirit yeah i agree with your comment about tai-chi..
Tai-chi is the only martial art that you CANNOT become perfect at.. your always perfecting... and you need a master to watch you and point out your flaws or as you say it can harm - especially on the moves where you work on certain organs.. as they have to be done at specific seasons of the year.
I dont know to what extent the harm can go, but your dealing with your spirit body and so u dont wanna attract the wrong type of energy
Tai Chi wells up through the feet, is directed with the trunk and expressed through the hands. Concentrating on hand movements is like building a house on sand, and seniors especially benefit from leg strengthening and foundation building qigong. Soften knees and create dynamic tension in legs. Thighs softly press the soles of feet into the ground. Shoulders relax, sink elbows and allow energy to connect from top to bottom flowing beyond the physical body. Belly breathing lowers center.
REPLENTISH? What kind of a word is that? If anyone viewing wants a wonderful lesson in Tai Chi I would recommend seeing "Flying Fortune Cookie - Joey Bond'. This man is so entertaining and the setting is so peaceful.
Exercise is best approached in an 'entertainment' . It makes it fun as much as the fundamentals can still be taken with an attitude of discipline. If you want to get 'serious' then learn to speak English.\; like the 'replentish' which does not exist in the English language.
Otherwise one should learn Tai Chi in its original form. tt doesn't have to be made "easy" It has to be taught effectively.
