  • Unfortunately or fortunately, depending on how you look at it, both of STP's attempts without Scott Weiland just didn't have staying power but both Talk Show and Army of Anyone are brilliant.

  • It's somewhat like STP ... because it's the same instrumentalists, with a different and very good singer. BTW, I'm not saying they sound identical. I like both bands for what they offer.

  • This album rocks!!!

  • what an under-appreciated gem this album is.

  • This cd is like a banh-mi sandwich... delicious.

  • Scott Weiland must've served up the one "dislike" on this one, lol

  • @bpasphalt LOL !!

  • HA! I remember this! That riff rocks! Ahh...the 90s... what a great time for music. Kids these days don't understand how awesome it was to be a teenager in the 90s.

  • somewhat like Stone Temple Pilots

  • Sweet guitar solo.Team Deleo kick ass!

  • I saw these guys play back in 1997 when they opened for the Foo Fighters. The crowd kept chanting STP, STP. Was a good set buy Talk Show.

  • bands of today seemingly don't have the sustainability in their music that bands of "yesteryear" had. i agree with e.i.o.d. that as you get older your tastes change, but at least we have these songs, etc to fall back on and remind us of why we took a certain path in life. by the way, someone said the lead singer would be a hell of a replacement for weiland in velvet revolver if they haven't already found one.

  • Man I remember this song, I only heard it a few times on MTV Alternative Nation (remember that show?) but I couldn't remember the name of the band. Oh back then, staying up late to watch videos.

  • God, the Nineties were great.

  • here, here, brotha. The music of today sucks ass. But maybe it's because we're getting older and our perceptions and tastes in music reflect that (assuming you're in your mid 20s and up)

  • I know that feeling. I am 29 years old and I feel like an old man when I talk to teenagers.

I want to stay young and cool forever.

  • This song is great, and the album is awesome!

  • Dave, great voice. Where are ya bro?

  • different but i love it!..

  • Was he trying to?

  • So glad someone posted this video. I love this song, and nobody I know has heard it. Such a shame. Does anybody know if the album was good?

  • Very good album. Definitely worth picking up if you like STP. Dave Coutts actually has a very very good singing voice. A shame the album sold like shit though.

  • The album is really good. under rated as far as Im concerned. Pick up a copy if you can.

  • Your right, it's a great album. I remember buying it when it came out and listening to it over and over. Lots of good stuff on it.

  • what guitar is dean playing? it looks nice.

  • Dean and Robert both played with a few Danelectro guitars during those years and the one in the video looks like it could be one of those.

  • Not sure if my last reply went through, but it appears to be a Danelectro guitar. Both Dean and Robert played a few of those during those years. I'm not sure which model though.

  • who's the vocalist?

  • Dave Coutts... I'm not gonna lie I enjoyed this album alot, Behind was my favorite track.

  • Wow never knew they had a video when the Deleos were in Talk Show. Great Find.

  • This is great, the Deleo brothers are geniuses.

But I have to admit Scott's 12 Bar Blues is better.

  • this is a kickass song....reminds me of "ride the cliche"...and i love that fucking diaper-monkey!

  • does sound a fair bit like ride the cliche actually yeah

  • Why don't Velvet Revolver get this guy to front for them since Weiland's defection back to STP? Logical choice this guy would be.

  • I've been looking everywhere for this video, but couldn't remember the artist. Thanks.

  • The Deleo brothers are always reinventing themselves with great refreshing progressions. I even love the stuff they did in Anyones army. very unique progressions and arrangements.

  • How does one get that "twangy sound" that Dean uses? Please PM and tell me what I need. Is it the guitar, the amp, the effects or combination of all three or two?

  • I saw Talk Show at the Wallace Civic Center. They also signed autographs,as well. The Foo Fighters performed after them.I had a great time.Zebrina

  • are these guys still around??

  • no....stp reunited. infact, theyve reunited twice since talk show.

  • This song would be awesome with scott singing it

  • No way!

  • i love Talk Show, thanks !!

    saludos desde Argentina

  • fantastic songwriting but dave looks like freakin craig kilborn tryin to sing rock music... once again, awesome music written by the deleos and kretz... def holds a spot in my life

  • Ever seen Scott on the Plush video??

  • great song! gotta love the deleo brothers and mr. kretz!

  • And Mr. Coutts!

  • Good stuff.

  • Weiland was right....not a BAD singer but doesn't know the moves etc.

Weiland is a REAL frontman...diverse style of guy obviously...but not bad.

  • deleo brothers kick major ass! great song! and album!!!

  • this guy's a good singer

  • Even the Bealtes admitted to using nonsensical lyrics to fill a vocal line, so I'll cut Dave some slack. Saw Talk Show open for Garbage a long time ago. Most people didn't know who they were until the last song morphed into an STP song, then everyone went crazy. You may not like Dave's lyrics, but he can sing his ass off. I agree that he doesn't compare w/ Scott's stage presence but Dave's got a more power voice and range. Would like to know if he's still out there performing.

  • There has to be some live footage floating around somewhere.

  • highly under-rated effort. those deleo boys can play

  • right on,STP,Army of anyone,Talk Show,Weiland's great but I think it took him to go be a rock star w the Guns guys to realize he had something special with STP.

  • i just ordered this album off amazon and i'm really happy

  • It's a shame that this album didn't sell well.

I wish that they could have made another one. Army of Anyone has some good songs, but I think that Talk Show had better material. Very melodic

  • More for us.They play for money but mostly just to make music so don't feel bad about them not becoming a commercial success.Sometimes it's better for the real fans, like we have something others don't value like us.

  • Awesome voice, just awesome. No one sang like that in 97, when they came out. When he sings "she" during the pre chorus - dang! Say the list is long, call the missing song..... Excellent job Dave!

  • this is Stone Temple Pilots without Scott Weiland, because he have drug problem. anyone know where to download this group mp3???

  • I have the album.

  • dude I've been looking for talk show videos for awhile. thanks for putting the shit up!

  • these guys fuckin rock (very underated) I saw them when I was in the 6th grade opening for aerosnith on the nine lives tour in san antonio

  • not 100% sure, but think this song was briefly on last night's nbc "life",12/3

  • or maybe it was sr-71's hello hello

  • Somebody didnt like fractured fairy on the funny page? I did pen that one, sorry. I was trying to describe an old coke addicted freind. Love Ya.

    Dave Coutts

  • this was a great album

  • I wish I knew what happened to Dave Coutts from the band.I saw Talk Show back in 1997 at the Wallace Civic Center along with the Foo Fighters & I saw them at Providence, Rhode Island. And after the concert at the Wallace Civic Center, both Foo Fighters & Talk Show sign autographs outside for the fans.Talk Show was great in concert.Zebrina

  • There is a band out of the Detroit area whose singer sings, and even looks a little like Dave. They are called Every Last Day. Of course thay are on myspace. Dave is my favorite. My voca instructor has me working on "Fill The Fields". She says we have a similar voics - I never would have thought that....

  • some one said that he was one of the best singers along with freddie and steve perry. I have this Cd and I think he even sounds like Freddie Mercury on some songs. I am a huge Queen fan and there are not many people who sound or even have the power Dave has. If you listen to some of the older Queen Cds you can here the similarities. I have both 12 bar blues and Talk show's CD. I like both but I have to say that the Talk show Cd was better. Every song was a good song.

  • I think Dave sounds a lot like Paul McCartney.

  • love the album....worned the album out to the point were it skips tracks

  • Who knows maybe the lead singer will one day join Velvet Revolver!

  • i agree with doodoojenkins

GREAT ALBUM !! GREAT BAND !!!

    get STP back !!!!!!

  • Hell yeah! I've been waiting to see this since it came out!! Dave Coutts is by far my favorite vocalist. A friend of mine, who knows a friend of his is trying to get me in touch with him, I play drums professionally, and would like to do a project with him.

  • Why can't people take this album for what it was without constantly having to compare front men past and present? This album was great because it is unlike any STP endeavor, it is markedly more playful, lighthearted, and dare I say happy? It is also kick-ass because it showcases all of Dean's vintage guitars and amps. The musicianship and songwriting are also top-notch. Talk Show was simply a cool anomaly in the DeLeo brother musical legacy. Broaden your musical tastes and shed your prejudices.

  • Yep, I agree totally. I am one of the biggest STP fans ever. I bought the talk show album and loved it too, it was a different band without scott. But it was a good one too!

  • What's with all of the muppets? Not the best song on the Talk Show album, I prefer "John".

  • I love "Fill The Fields". This is my favorite rock tune though. Morning Girl is good too.

  • great song, brings back memories.

  • I think these guys finally got it right when they asked Richard Patrick to front their new band Army Of Anyone. Although...this guy kind of does sound like Patrick?

  • Here's some useless trivia........this video was directed by the same guy who directed STP's video for "Plush" (Josh Taft).

  • Love this song!

  • Did anybody know that this is the Stone Temple Pilots with a few different members?

  • So much "Coutts" bashing... he had BIG shoes to fill obviously but I think he was amazing AND original.

  • I could give a shit about Weiland, he does nothing for me vocally, he bores me. Coutts on the other hand is among Freddie Mercury, and Steve Perry as my all time favorite vocalists. I love the 10 inch men disc too.

  • Dave Coutts aside, this was a pretty good album that was largely overlooked when it came out.

  • After a few listens, I realized that there are only THREE good things about this band.

    1) Robert DeLeo

    2) Dean DeLeo

    3) Eric Kretz

THAT IS ALL. Dave Coutts who came from Ten Inch Men was trying so hard to be Weiland. It was such a mistake to record a CD with a replacement lead singer. After listening to this, I'd wanna get sober and back with my band as soon as possible too. "Fractured fairy on the funny page"???

Weiland could fart and it would be better lyrics than that.

  • First of all dude, you don't have an ex-wife. secondly, Coutts didn't write all of the song, which while way better than Weiland's 12 Bar Blues, wasn't nearly the best song on the album. I would've prefered Talk Show over news of Weiland's continuing drug problems any day. I do wish Kretz was in AoA though.

  • Scott Weiland's "12 Bar Blues" blows this CD away. This album was overlooked for a reason. It's horrible. Yes, I get it...he's "Weiland's replacement." But it's awful. Compare the sales of Weiland's and Talk Show's CD's. Listen to "Peeling An Orange." Enough said.

  • actually i felt the same at first, but this is a great cd. actually 1 of my favs

  • No. That is nothing but opinion, and a shitty one at that.

  • Which comment is this referencing?

  • The inital comment. Lordpuffalot420

  • I feel ya on that one.

  • this is actually a pretty good song

  • pleasant video, memory it to have listened to a pair of times in the radio, thank you very much stpmatt, greetings of Peru
