  • to resist what is, is suffering...I concur

  • Some things you say here really strike me. And overall, I think you're advising relief through acceptance.

Intense suffering is what got me deeper into Christ. I realized that to suffer is to learn about Him from the inside, to experience a little of His far greater suffering. Now I'm pitying Him more than myself. And this is His service to us. He set Himself up as that, so to lift us out of Self.

You can accept this Reality, but can you go on now to love it? On what terms can it be loved?

  • Idries Shah was driving at this, his name spelled this. So I threw that out, over 30 years to be left with only a wordless this, where in occasionally float the drift-words.

    Dzogchen I guess.

  • Yes! Great thoughts here about Buddhism. I remember a talk with a monk who said we must 'think properly' in order to manage suffering.

I'm envious of your Ayahuasca experience even though it felt wrong to you. Most of my similar experiences have been positive but the rare negative experience was also a learning experience.

Thank you for talking about this.

  • @Barklord What you say at the end is very true. Rebelling against 'what is' causes even more suffering because it blocks out the learning process. This applies to an emotional growth type of pain more than perhaps a physical pain but not completely. Thanks again.

  • @Barklord I have been wanting to take an Ayahuasca trip, but have no clue how to go about doing so. lol As in, where do you go for this...how does one arrange this? :P

  • @inspirediam If you're serious I think you can arrange for a retreat in central or south America through some websites. I've never tried Ayahuasca. Sounds more intense than anything I've done.

  • @Barklord I am serious, and to tell you the truth..what happened to me about a month ago felt a lot like what this man is talking about, and that was with out the Ayahuasca. :P Man alive...lol
