Very cool video! I came to Port A for the first time in 1995 so this was really cool to see. I LOVE Port Aransas. I sure has changed alot. Thank you for sharing this!
Then and now I still love Port A, funny how I found this beautiful vid just a few days before i'm going out there again. I know all the posts are one two three yrs old, it's April 2011 now I hope you never take this down and become a memory like the slide.
You know,,, Id been looking for that laundrymat for sometime now and idnt even realize it was GONE lol .. forgot about that slide too ,, I saw the desert out in the back where we live now and the little shack in back of 7-11 where I lived in ''81
Wow, that's about what Port A looked like when we first moved there! Never saw the water slide tho. We just moved away this year. We don't care for the 'new & improved' version. Awesome videos - Thanx for sharing!
I cried my eyes out when I watched this. I was just a 6 year old girl going down that slide. It feels like the sun doesn't shine as bright as it used to. Thanks for your foresight.
wow what a trip, I lived there fromm 2000 to 2005, it was so add to see this part of town back then. some it has changed some of it is so erily similar. I lived on 7th just a few blocks from the red garage,, its still there, but the laundrey is a gift shop and the 7-11's all became cirlce k's then valeros. and the slide is long gone,, its just Jays seafood now. Thanks for the look back.
Your old Port A movies are awesome. I'm loving watching them and seeing the history that I missed.. Harry remembers it just that way and we both lament the changes. Great work. These will be great to use with the students in school you mind if I show them to the other teachers?

I grew up spending Summers, Spring Breaks, and many weekends down there with my Grandparents.
My wife and kids don't understand how much it has changed in the last 20+ years

I put them here for everyone to enjoy and learn.
Funny how I knew these would be important someday.
History was always my favorite subject in school.
