@razorman916 cause jimi hendrix wasnt what you would call a "skilled" player. we was very inventive and unique for his time. really he was prety much the first conventional "shredder" but he really wasnt very good. he stuck to mostly blues scales and basic picking combinations. by todays standards i would say mustaine is better than all the guitarists u just named except rhoads. kirk and zakk have lost most the skill they once had and innovation as well.

This is a great solo. I dont know why people think that just because you pick up a guitar that you have to learn every scale and every mode in every position to be a guitar player. Pentatonics are where its at. ACDC, ZEP, PAGE, POISON, Hendrix they all laugh all the way to the bank while the theory snobs are still sitting behind the keyboard...trolling......tryin­g to impress other theory snobs. Listenable music is what sells.

Some guitar players like modes and exotic scales and some stick to pentatonic based rock. It's all good. Zakk is a guy who I'm sure probably could sweep arpeggios and shred if he wanted to practice getting more speed. But that's not his style nor was it the style of music that influenced him.
