Actually, the browser is made by nokia. It just uses the mozilla rendering engine. Basically, nokia made the interface and control stuff for the browser, mozilla made the part that actually displays the page. But one things for sure, it's not firefox. You won't be able to install firefox addons, and, it's nothing like firefox. That said, in theory i see no reason why you couldn't install firefox on this phone. :)

ok ...thx...but I think that Mozilla is nothing compared to Opera mini...which is astonishing...in other words i wouldn't care If I had this phone...I would install opera for PC :D

Firefox is _NOT_ preinstalled on this device. However you should be able to install firefox manually. But it would probably run slow.

No, it doesn't, it runs the mighty maemo browser which is mozilla based, that is NOT firefox. If your going to tell people they are wrong, state your source before doing so.

The browser is Mozzila based and the system's specifications is similar to that of the minimum system requirements for running Vista(aka capable of running Firefox).

No microsoft OS will run on an ARM processor. So no vista. But as i said, there should be no problem installing the linux version of firefox on this thing. If you want a handheld that runs vista, you should check out oqo. But if you really want it to run vista, maybe you could run it through a virtualization solution like qemu? :)

I didn't know about the processor but the RAM and the HDD space, etc. are capable of running Vista and the point I was trying to make was that Firefox should be able to run swiftly on the device when it's theoretically capable of running such a bloated OS like Vista.

Has qemu actually been ported over too the maemo platform? Cool if so :D.

It's a full debian distro, so the question you should be asking is "has qemu been ported to ARM" :) I think a full version of firefox may struggle CPU wise (but it should run ok). :)

AFAIK the maemo browser runs on the same engine as Firefox(gecko?) but it's just more optimized.

25tps... in 848 × 480 resolution! Surely you'll get more ftp with lower resolution. Like iPhone and 400×600 (which has only 480x320 pixel screen resolution!).

Have you tried this phone?? no, so you can't tell if it really will scratch the lens.. also I have an N97, and I didn't get any lens scratches from the cover... I think it's only a batch of the N97's that did get a bad lens cover build.
