  • What Guitar do you have?

and should i buy this amp for punk/ hard rock type styles of music

  • FENDER FRONTMAN 212 100watts VS vox valvetronix ad50vt???

  • This amp is the best. Loud and clean, and you can just do whatever sound you like with pedals. I lovelovelove basic ass amps that are just.....amplifiers that serve a loud clean base ground.

Not pedalboard emulator amps with more effects than 15 post rock bands, where all the effects sound bad anyway like Line 6 or something.

  • Thank God you can play. I hate it when people try to do a review on a amp or guitar

    and can't even play

  • Thank God you can play. I hate when people can even play and they do a review

    on an amp or guitar.

  • This is a great little amp for the money.Nice clean channal and drive channal has a nice clean distortion.with drive on about 7 or 8 nice for ac/dc type stuff. If you want something heavier. You will have to add a distortion pedal. With a hard rock, metal distortion, delay and chorus pedal you can play anything from bb king to maiden with this thing.

  • I was wondering, if I had this amp on overdrive and plugged in my Maxon OD-9 overdrive into it, would it still sound good or would it ruin the tone? My brother owns this amp and I've played it a few times, and I might buy one.

  • @bbyrne16 Good question!!! I haven't played a screamer through this drive channel as of yet... But I imagine it would just do what it does to any other amp's drive channel... As always, I would suggest trying it out before buying, but I don't see why not!

  • is this amp good for ACDC, metallica, nirvana and loud music or is it better for calmer and lower music?

im in dought between getting this one and the line 6 spider iv 120.

    please help

  • @eduardozpn This is a solid amp. It sounds good for pretty much anything once you figure out how to set the eq right. I suggest you take your guitar down to the local GC and plug into both. The line 6 is also kinda cool, seeing as how you can get a lot of sounds. But the frontman has a very FENDER tone. Try them out yourself. It works good for me tho. :D

  • @eduardozpn Get a Vyper it kills the line 6

  • Great vid. The tone control tip's right on. I don't like electric guitars without them.

  • Does this amp work for metal?

  • @baitsworld79 Thanks for the question! I'll send you a message ASAP!!!

  • @Johnnnybgoode and what's the answer?? lol please answer me

  • @baitsworld79 I read a lot of comments that it doesn't work for metal. So probably it doesn't

  • @baitsworld79 IMO it does. It doesn't do the best scooped tone, but with more drive + mid contour switch on it comes close. Might need to fine tune the drive tone with a graphic EQ. Otherwise, use a good metal pedal.

  • does the amp also come with a switch that looks sorta like a pedal that lets you turn on the amps distortion or whatever?

  • @Studmon182 Yes, yes it does. Although, mine gave out on me and I have it replaced for free with a better one.

  • @Johnnnybgoode and also is this amp good on the high volumes? is it "clear" on the high volumes and would it be good for live shows?

  • @Johnnnybgoode and also is this amp good on the high volumes? is it "clear" on the high volumes and would it be good for live shows?

  • @Studmon182 Uhhhh.......... Well, this amp sounds very clear at high volumes. THe clean channel is so loud that you really can't tell what's going on though. It's almost disorienting how loud the clean channel is. I would actually recommend replacing the speakers after a while though. A set of v30's would make it sound even louder and better. But yeah, it doesn't get muddy at high volumes. It's very clear sounding.

  • @Studmon182 footswitch yes. It's a two button i think

  • Nirvana!!!

  • Is this amp good for Metallica stuff?

  • @christiaan28285 Oh yes! I mean, it's not like you're gonna have Kirk's exact tone, but you can DEFINITELY, crank out some master of puppets on this beast.

  • I have a 1-12 solid state marshall. Would this be better? (loudness for gigging)

  • @brianwurst1234 Hmmmm...... Well, this has 2 speakers, so this automatically has a little bit more sound coming out of it...... I would say it depends on the wattage, but unless your amp is ridiculously modded, I'd say this kicks it's butt in the volume department.

  • @Johnnnybgoode Hey thanks for the response. I actually JUST bought an Ashdown Fallen Angel dsp60 with 2 -12" Texas Heats. Paid 300 bucks for it and it sounds crazy good dude. Happy trails....

  • @brianwurst1234 HOLY CRAP!!!! That's a nice amp. I've never played one myself, but I think you struck gold there bro lol. You'll have to post a vid when you can. I want to hear this.

  • @brianwurst1234 How do the texas Heats sound btw. I'm looking at putting some in this maybe.

  • @Johnnnybgoode They're not quite as raw sounding as a celestion but they have a real smooth frequency response curve and handle about 3 times the power. Great for jazz and metal but if youre looking for a tweed blues sound you may have to use some sort of pedal. I love them.

  • instead of adjusting tone on the amp, can you adjust the tone on the pedal for distortion?

  • Ok, with ANY amp, you'll need to do minor adjustments for different music. Your tone come through your amp, not the pedal, although some pedals CAN modify your tone.

MOst distortion pedals only have controls for the level of distortion, not Bass Treble and mid. The amps settings are always important in getting the right tone. YOur pedal and amp need to work together to get the right sound.

  • Hmmmm.... Not sure what you mean by melodic rock.... It has clean and 2 types of overdrive... I'm guessing you can probably set the eq to sound like melodic rock...

  • As soon as i get better at Guitar. Im gonna consider this one.

  • lol Awesome. I've actually heard a guy play some Satriani through this amp, and it sounded awesome. The clean channel is REALLY bright, and is really good for bluesy and jazz stuff. But it's all in the way you set your eq. It has amazingly sensative controls, and effects come through extremely well.

  • is this amp good with distortion pedals?

  • @Studmon182 Yo bro, you should check out my new video. I demonstrate this amp with a modeling system, which has just about the same effect as a pedal.

  • would this amp be good with a distortion pedal?

  • Thank you for your question. As I have said before, this amp has potential to work well with pretty much any distortion, but you have to know how to EQ it right. It depends on the type of distortion. For metal, since those pedals have high treble, you have to turn the treble on your amp down, or you'll get a really awful tone lol. Because this is a fender, you get a really unique tone out of the clean channel. So I can't guarantee you can make it sound just like anybody else.

  • i would like to know if this amp can play songs like sugar by system of a down

  • I don't play much system myself.... But I'm pretty sure this amp can crank out some System tunes! It has more than enough distortion and tone range to play Sugar.

I'd encourage you to check it out for yourself.

  • thnx for the info bro 5/5*

  • hey bro, i recently bought this amp for christmas. and i had my doubts about, now maybe ist your awesome playing, but im starting like this amp again. thanks dude

  • Thanks so much. You should really give this amp a chance. Iss one of the best amps I've played. There's just something about a Fender. It sounds so unique. The best part it, it sounds totally different depending on what guitar you use. It sounds different every time I plug in a new guitar.

  • Is this good with effect pedals on the clean channel?

  • I'll reply with a message ASAP. This amp is great with effects though.

  • i have this amp and everytime i turn it to more drive it gives me that weird noise. is there a way to get rid of it? because i prefer playing metal on my guitar and idk if i need a certain setting or a pedal.

  • I'll send you a message right away.

There are several things you might be talking about, and I'll try to address them. Thank you very much for the question!

  • @escapethesoundoftrut

think about buying a noise compresseor

  • @escapethesoundoftrut get a a boss noise supresser or an mxr smartgate, it gets oout that extra noise from the amp

  • hey do you thing I could ise this with metal(just using the amp). I couldn't put it so loud in the store so i couldn't tell. I might have to buy a metalzone or another distortion pedal. Do you have any suggestions?

  • I'll send you a message ASAP. This amp's interaction with distortion is interesting, so I'll explain the pros and cons as best I can. Thanks for your question.

  • @XxHarounXx no u would need a pedal ( i own this amp)

  • is it good for a7x and creed

  • I can tell you, this amp might just do Creed proud. As far as AX7 goes, I would recommend getting a pedal to get the right drive sound.

But overall, I think this amp can handle anything as is.

  • doe's this make any AC/DC sound ? :)

  • @AngusYoungFan200

i read somewhere that its one of the best but u have to dial it up just right

  • I had already replied by message, but you're ight on about that. I find myself setting the bass and treb at 7 and the mids at 51/2 or 6. Engage the mid contour and you have a prett decent rock tone for acdc or even Guns n roses. I've been trying to learn sweet child, and I must say, this amp put out a pretty darn good tone for that song. But some of the first stuff I played on it was AC/DC. That why I chose it in fact.

  • @AngusYoungFan200 Yep, this amp is perfect for ACDC (in my opinion) (i have this amp)

  • How does it compare to the Roland Jazz 120???

  • I'll send you a message about that. If anybody wants to know my opinion just ask and I'll explain.

  • I sent you a rec of me doing no quarter on this amp

  • I really like it. It was pretty awesome.

  • Sweet, maybe I'll try that. Mine is set for a high gain tone... But warm is nice!

  • Hopefully in the future I'll have something that improves the sound a little, but I think you get the idea. I posted this because in my opinion it shows some of what this amp can do. Please leave feedback. Questions, comments?
