  • I disagree with parts of this video. A doctor doesn't simply carry on with life while a case is being built. To a lawyer, a lawsuit is a routine part of the job, but to a doctor, it is a deep personal attack. I'm not saying that we should do away with lawsuits- there are bad docs out there hurting people, but the notion that a lawsuit is a standard part of being a doctor is an idea that came from lawyers, not doctors

  • @lakland001 Everyone tends to forget about the injured patient. They focus on the lawyers, then focus on the doctors. Nobody ever looks at the doctors who were careless and the patient who has a severe disabling injury. An attorney is there to help the victim obtain compensation. It's that simple. If you cause harm, you must compensate the injured victim.

  • so does that mean that OB-gyns are worse doctors than rehab doctors because they get sued more? I hope one of your children becomes a doctor so you truly understand the harm you are doing..

  • @123neurosurgeon As an educated professional who has spent many years in medical training, I assume the purpose of you watching my educational video message was not simply to criticize me. Rather, I would hope you could provide some educational insight and your viewpoint to readers who watch this video and read the comments below. To answer your question, the answer is no.

I must comment however the last part of your sentence “...so you truly understand the harm you are doing.”

  • @123neurosurgeon By the time an injured victim comes to me, they have already suffered injury at the hands of a careless individual. My entire goal is to help the injured victim obtain lawful compensation that they are legally entitled to in the state of New York. If you feel that representing an injured victim who rightfully is entitled by law to be compensated, through no wrongdoing of their own, represents “harm I am doing” then you may not truly understand the purpose of the civil justice

  • @123neurosurgeon system. My goal as an advocate is to obtain the maximum compensation possible for my client. Should you suffer an injury because of someone else's carelessness, you have those same exact rights if you are injured in New York. It is clear from your statement that you don't recognize that I come from a large family of doctors. You should ask your own colleagues who you trained with whether they ever observed careless physicians inadvertently cause harm to a patient.

  • @123neurosurgeon You need not answer that since I already know the answer.

  • Gerry, with the detail necessary to bring and win a medical lawsuit into court, do you know about as much as a doctor when it comes to medical procedure? I heard in another of your videos that you do consult other professionals, however, you're the man who'll have to explain the case in court, right?

  • @Virgofenix The goal of a medical malpractice trial lawyer is to know as much about a specific area of medicine in the case as the doctor. Experts help, and it is my job to explain to the jury what the case is about, and how our side is more likely right than wrong.
