  • AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • Thank fuck for Punk Rock!

  • @Loobs666 Um...This song came out in 1979, nearly three years after "Year Zero".

From here on in it was the "New Romantics" nearly until the '90's.

Thank god I still had my Led Zep and Pink Floyd albums to keep me sane!

    .

  • Some Girls dont like or know the truth if it Bit them in the Ass ,

  • @bubs101able

And some just know a bad investment when they see it.......lol.

  • They should have called this song "The Truth About Women" And ; they should have done an aduilt version of it . Use your imagination on that one .

  • I love the lead singers enthusiasm, he looks like a fun guy to be around...don't see that much these days, it's all about "look at me" instead. I always loved the guitarist on the left with the blonde hair, so hot!

  • was that really '79, god i feel old, btw that guys a deadringer for my cousin

  • If you want a song about drugs look no further than ebernezergood by the shaman!

  • Lucy in the sky with diamonds was not about drugs - read a book sometime! It was about a picture drawn by julian about a girl called lucy riding a horse called diamonds in the sky! John loved it so much he wrote a song about it!

  • Bit of Shadows-step in there, methinks!

  • "GREAT SONG" !

  • serious affects of speed when singing! lol good song though blast from the past

  • Racey Rocks!!! Just love this song.

  • what a classic bop song inspired by rock n roll

  • Weston Super Mare's finest ....

  • Does any one else think the drum bit right at the beginning sounds a bit like the very beginning of....Hey Rock and Roll by Showaddywaddy

  • Some birds will ... some birds won't ... some birds need a lot of shagging and some birds don't.

Oh, how very politically incorrect of me to put it as crudely as that. Shame on me!

  • @TheEctomorph fucking funny that though nice one -

  • @geoffdoor Thank you, sir.

  • Oh man, was war das für eine geile zeit. Schade das diese Musik heute nicht mehr gibt..

  • @Peter49319 Yeah, it's a pity that this music today doesn't exist anymore!

  • @duncan4reid Oh, but it does still exist, Duncan - on CD (and indeed on You Tube, too). Just as the music of Buddy Holly and Eddie Cochran lives on - more than half a century after those two rock 'n' roll greats departed this mortal coil. I reckon that people will still be listening to music by Mr Holly and Mr Cochran 200 years from now - in the year 2211! I don't know whether people will still be listening to Racey's music in the 23rd century, though ! Who knows?!

  • 40 people don't deserve any girls

  • hahaha, thats fuckin funny! a bunch of goofs!

  • like the beat...very catchy...and literally motivates ...your feet to jive...

  • Incredible that crap like this was still turning up in 1979. It's like five years too late.

  • @jaxxstraw Well, obviously not ...... seeing that Racey had a very big hit with the song. It came very close to reaching #1 in the British charts, if my memory serves me correctly.

  • love the song but the guy dancing looks like he's drunk

  • WSM's finest :-)

  • thankfully this video led to the worldwide ban on synchronised dancing by guitarists.

  • Really nice song, it's totaly in style of the great Mud. Well done boys!!

  • God knows why, but I woke up this morning with this song stuck in my head.

  • Why don't they make funny and great songs like this anymore?

  • How sad are the twats who voted to dislike this?

  • We have this song play at work, and everytime it plays I just want to dance :)

  • 2 years after punk and new wave had taken the music world by storm, there suddenly appeared these buffoons desperately trying to pretend it was still 1973. They were rightly treated with the contempt they deserve.

  • @MrGraphis Good post. Did you know this song was offered to Blondie, of all bands? They dodged a bullet there!

  • @daystilljersey Yeah, Blondie's producer co-wrote this. If needed, it was to have gone on the Parallel Lines lp. Come to think of it, this song does have a little of the feel of P L's I'M Gonna Love You Too, which was its only weak track.

  • @crapple009 I hated this song with a passion and yes it does have the Nursery Rhyme quality of ' I'M Gonna Love You Too' that sounded as if it was just made up in a few minutes to fill in a gap.

  • @MsMrReason Totally agreed- I just had to check this song out due to the Blondie "connection" and was appalled beyond belief. I had never heard it before and I will never listen to it again. It's not even cute or humorous, which is what they're striving for here. Shame on them!

  • @MrGraphis If that was the case, how come this song by Racey was such a big hit, then?!

  • 1979???! Could have sworn this was earlier in the 70's. Love it and you can't help but tap your feet, I dare you...........

  • I just bought a glam comp and they are on it. Man they were really bad

  • Another 40 cretins

  • Another 40 crtins

  • the guy singing is a fanny

  • By the looks of them it's a miracle any girls ever did.

  • @onwebcameron the band is a bunch of pathetic fannies that never got any vagina

  • I knw this is b4 my time but it always gets me up dancing wen i'm out with the girls

  • das lid gefalt mir so so so gut

  • don't you just want to slap the poser?

  • @jduk41 you decide he is a poser just by watching one video... you couldn't be further from the truth he is one of the nicest guys that I have ever been lucky enough to meet...!!!

  • ja ja die gute alte zeit menno wie alt bin ich denn scheisse

  • was this filmed in a wind tunnel? hahaha

  • skvelý odvaz:)

  • Reminds me of 6 months of madness!

    Thank you for sharing.

  • would have made a better single for mud or showaddywaddy...

  • @missmarypickford Why...?

  • @Weareracey the song is so derivative of the mud/showaddywaddy sound. They were hardly as 'starry', and only managed a couple of hits on the coat tails of the aforementioned...sorry if you are a fan-its just the way i remember it.

  • @missmarypickford Same two blokes were writing the hits for Mud, these and a few others. All very Stock/Aitken/Waterman, Simon Cowell-esque. Shameful.

  • @missmarypickford Yes, you are quite right when you point out that this song is derivative of the Mud/Showaddywaddy sound - spot on. In fact, I think I am correct in saying that "Some Girls" was actually written for the group Mud ...... but they turned it down, apparently. I am inclined to think that, that was a mistake on the part of Les Gray (G.R.H.S.) and his colleagues. Having said that, the glam rock era was over well before 1979, and therefore it is by no means certain that Mud

  • @missmarypickford [Continuing on from my previous 'post' about Mud]: would have got into the Top 50 (let alone the Top 10) with this song - had they recorded it and released it as a single in the UK.

As for Showaddywaddy - or the 'Mighty Wads', as they are sometimes known - they were still a relatively popular group in 1979 ...... and so therefore it is reasonable to assume that they would have had a pretty sizeable hit with the song "Some Girls" - if they (instead of Racey) had

  • @missmarypickford [Continuing on from my previous post about Mud and Showaddywaddy]: recorded it. I don't know whether the 'Mighty Wads' were ever offered that track, though.

Personally, I liked the music of Showaddywaddy and Mud. Still do, as a matter of fact. Both groups were very underrated, IMHO. I think that Racey were underrated too - to a certain extent.

  • @missmarypickford Yes, I think that you are right there, Mary (no disrespect to the lads from sunny Weston-super-Mare in Somerset ...... oohhh-ahhh, oohhh-ahhh)! Showaddywaddy would have been well capable of making an excellent version of this song, back in 1979. The same is true of Mud - the excellent glam rock group from Carlshalton, near London. That said, Mud were no longer a successful group - in commercial terms - by 1979 ...... and if they HAD recorded the song "Song Girls",
