People discount verbal abuse but it does have an effect. Really, really good to hear that someone's turning their life around.

Why people resist adversity so often I'll never know. Most of the deepest lessons and highest wisdom I own have come to me while weighted by the after-effects of stupidity, short-sightedness and non-thinking.
I now welcome hardships, but unfortunately they never visit anymore.
