HAFLINGERS: Year's Acheivement

I own a lovely haffie, called Summmer :) I can't canter her straight with out her bolting into a gallop and when ever she tries cantering she weirdly lifts her front legs like she's galloping!! :p  I fall off on every hack we go on!!! I have enough bruises, we don't have a very large school which is annoying! Any tips???
