@wimpylassiter2336 The first electric light bulb was invented in Canada by two Canadians (James Woodward and Matthew Evans). They invented it in 1874 and (eventually) sold the patent to Thomas Edison in 1885. Edison admittedly made improvements on the light bulb but he didn't invent it. Since Canada became an official country in 1867, the invention of the light bulb would be considered Canadian and not from "England" as you claim.

I've spoken to an American carpenter who's been working for 15 in your country and has never been able to afford a house. Pilots have to work second jobs. The people taking jobs out of the US do it because the labour in China is cheaper. China's fault, but American CEO's benefit. It takes money to make money for you.

Tell me the gap between the rich and the poor hasn't grown into immense proportions the last 30 years. Tell me 40 000 factories weren't killed in the Bush administration. @moirajean8 You misunderstand what a government run healthcare system is. It's no more than taxpayer money funding hospitals. The state doesn't dictate anything, just pays for it. There's no need for insurance, because you're fully covered anyway. It's a similar thing with universities; yeah they cost a little, but no one is rejected solely because they can't pay. An educated and healthy nation is in everybody's interest, so why wouldn't we all pay a little for it?
