I really want to go to Lyon on exchange next year but I don't know anything about student accomodation and have heard France has a bad reputation, does anyone know what living conditions are like?
I'm doing an exchange program to France next year and I was thinking about Lyon. Would you recommend it? I'm worried about people being unfriendly and the city confusing, but overall it looks like a great location.
I live in Paris and I'm still alive. You shall do fine, make the choice and move to Lyon. The city is beautiful. Even a negative experience is something to remember in a positive light.
I would totally recommend Lyon. I had the best time in my life there and I was on an exchange as well. In fact it was this year. The city is great,safe;there are quite a lot of things to do in free time,the weather was great almost all the time there.Moreover, it's easy and cheap to travel from Lyon to almost anywhere in Europe ( and Morocco as well - I went there for 17 EUR :) if you manage to catch some good deals from TGV or cheap airlines. And people are ok too. I didn't have any problems.
What about financially? Did you go with your college, because it looks like going with BSU it's going to be 23 grand and I can't afford that, but I know there are plenty of scholorships. My dad also thinks that it is undreasonable to go when I can't afford it. I do have a whole year to plan though.
Well I didn't have a lot of financial problems, but I have to point out that I'm from Europe. And yes, I went with my university and I had also a scholarship. Seems that you're facing a tough decison. What's BSU? Boise State University? If so, we had one girl from there. She studied in Lyon for one year and seemed to be doing quite ok.

I don't understand why you hate your city so much. Tell you what, you should try living in some other cities, like Paris, or Barcalona, then you might think differently about wonderful Lyon.

si ya está allá el verano suele ser algo cálido, que compre su abono para el metro cuesta algo así como 30 euros mensuales, el metro tiene 4 líneas y es muy fácil de usar, puede hacer uso tmb de la red de bicicletas públicas por todo Lyon, que disfrute de una de las ciudades más hermosa y con más historia de toda Europa, que visite la basílica de fourviere, Bellecour, la croix rousse, uff se va enamorar tu hija de Lyon, Saludos desde MÉXICO!!!

I would totally recommend Lyon. I had the best time in my life there and I was on an exchange as well. In fact it was this year. The city is great,safe;there are quite a lot of things to do in free time,the weather was great almost all the time there.Moreover, it's easy and cheap to travel from Lyon to almost anywhere in Europe ( and Morocco as well - I went there for 17 EUR :) if you manage to catch some good deals from TGV or cheap airlines. And people are ok too. I didn't have any problems.

What about financially? Did you go with your college, because it looks like going with BSU it's going to be 23 grand and I can't afford that, but I know there are plenty of scholorships. My dad also thinks that it is undreasonable to go when I can't afford it. I do have a whole year to plan though.

Seems that you're facing a tough decison. What's BSU? Boise State University? If so, we had one girl from there. She studied in Lyon for one year and seemed to be doing quite ok.

il y en a qui confondent le club de lyon et la ville dans les commentaires non mais il faut arreter gunsnroses1000 arrete de te la ramener avec marseille est plus jolie parce que enfait ce que tu prefere c'est le club !!

Relis mon commentaire; je ne parle ni de l'OM, ni de l'OL. Je ne vois pas en quoi un club de foot peux être "jolie et cosmopolite" ... Je te parle de la ville de MArseille ... Marseille c'est aussi autre chose que l'OM; c'est une ville magnifique, dont la superficie dépasse 2 fois celle de Paris (ne parlons pas de Lyon -_-'), et qui a tout pour elle. Alors garde ta jalousie, stp, j'en ai rien à foutre du foot, d'ailleurs l'OL est meilleur que l'OM, donc je vois pas pourquoi je me la ramenerais.
