  • all i remember about this, is being blown away by a) how bass heavy and PUNCHY the music was and b) how easy it was to sometimes die , even on the first level, if you got too experimental with your moves.

  • 4 people are lovers not fighters.

  • excellent!

  • Jesus between 6 to 7 min im tripin.

  • Bravo!

  • i spent like 100 bucks in quarters playing this shit back in the day!

  • I used to play the hell out of this game back in the day, but as for the music...to me it sounds better on the NES

  • That's some pretty nice ass at 0:26...for a video game.

  • i just started sampling music from different things i just finish making one for guile's theme from street fight nes

  • I used to steal 20p' from my mams purse to play this.

  • I can still vividly remember when I was 6, and I used to stand outside of the arcade drooling over this machine everyday when I passed by from school. (In Hong Kong minors weren't allowed to enter arcade centers back then) Oh how fast time has passed!

  • I agree that the NES version actually sounds a lot better

  • Why are there religious debates on a Double Dragon Music video?

  • I played this game when i was 7 (in 1987). This game, for those who speak without respect to old glories, was the game with the best soud chip on that era, and one of the most advanced for it´s time. It´s the precursor of the arcade Beat´em up genre. So, show some respect! you chickens who just knew about this game only by mame or played the crappy SNES version.

  • @NDSLITRE What about 1986's Out Run, or 1985's Space Harrier? I think they sound much better than Double Dragon.

  • @NDSLITRE Do you remember the Atari 520 st version errrrrrrrrr!

But i still played it dreaming one day to play it at home arcade perfect style.

    (",)

    Bless!

  • how did this turn into a religion battle? anyone wanna play double dragon?

  • I thought the average Good Ol Candian boy is too busy fucking Mooses.

How many white heavy weight Boxing Champions have their been compared to black?

Also Karate and Kick Boxing Champions has been black more then once, dick head. And the Champions of some asian fighting competitions have been black.

Did you graduate from Lumberjack college.

  • The Mafia are one of the most dangerous gangs in the world, that's ok though they are white. Nevermind the bombings, killings, political corruption in Italy, and Billion dollar Drug operations worldwide.

The Yakuza and Triads must be black too...

  • Comment removed

  • Haha you are so pathetic. When it's "organised crime" It's totally fine to shoot, kill, bomb, bribe, terrorise and corrupt politics and even the church. (Try asking Italians if the Mafia are wonderful)

South American and Mexican Cartels do the exact same thing with drug money, crime, killings and corruption as the Mafia. The Same in China and Japan.

When it's black gangs oh no, they are evil.

Crawl back under your cave in the woods and rape some bears.

  • Christianity is a Middle eastern Religeon Einstien, along with Islam and Judaism.

Jesus was not white, he was middle eastern.

Ayran means Iran, Aryans came from Iran genius. There are native blonde people with green eyes in Iran, same as in Isreal.

Do you know the word Al-Gebra is an arabic word? It was invented in Iraq (Babylonia) a great ancient civilisation and spread to India. This is just the tip of the iceberg in your ignorance of world history.

  • Comment removed

  • Truth hurt Moose fucker?

So much of the modern world comes ancient middle east and Africa, such as Egypt, Nubia, Iraq, iran, India among others and evolution further back in Africa.

Mathmatics, Religion, Language (Arianus means Iran in Latin, meaning an Indian/ European related language)

    Canadian Hill billy.

  • actually jesus was jewish

  • Isreal is in the middle east, Jesus was not white. Isrealis are not white. Christianity is a middle eastern religeon, along with the related Islam and Judaism. At the time Europe was still worshiping pagan gods, and gods like Mars, Jupiter and Zeus.

  • yeah except your wrong. that part of the world was under the mosaic law-so again, jesus was jewish, out of nazereth. he was not white/caucasian. who gives a shit about europe? christianity didnt start til 33 years after christ birth. and it started in that part of the world, later spreading outward.

  • Because white racists from Europe and the USA (I'm European btw) like the idiot below, claim christianity like it's a white european religeon for white people only.

  • @ojideagu

    Not now, Double Dragon time.

  • No I wouldnt-so its NOT a fact

  • Plots have evolved because in this it seems that entire city is fighting to keep one girl.

  • YIKES. I love FM music, but these horrible instruments hurt my ears! Sounds like they sampled a fart for the snare drum too, lol. I hope they stopped hiring middle school kids to make their games.

Well, thanks for satisfying my curiosity!

I'll go listen to the NES version now, lol..

  • Nice Trans Am!

  • where did you find the OST for this game?

  • any chance of getting all these songs from you? I can't find em anywhere

  • Fuckin quality melodies eh?

  • Nice music !!

  • Lmaoooo i used to fu&k this shit up when i was like 8

  • LOL you aint the only one!

  • The red car in the garage is the LX-5 from a laserdisc game, Road Blaster (released outside of Japan from the arcades to the Sega CD and PS1 as Road Avenger), which was also created by Yoshihisa Kishimoto. The battle chopper in DDII: The Revenge's garage is the LX-3 from another laserdisc game created by Yoshihisa Kishimoto titled Thunder Storm (known as Cobra Command outside of Japan, but not to be confused with the shoot 'em up of the same name).

  • I wish I could get them as mp3's or something.....

  • WHile this game may have not been the fastest or best the end just gets u exicted! That epic music pumps u up!

  • 3:19 pure win

  • sounds like an early genesis game, complete with fart master drums.

  • Heheh, "fart master".

Although, to me, the drums always sounded like they were underwater.

  • It sounds like a Sega Genesis (even though it predates the Genesis).

  • heh it sad i stil looks up her skirt to this day lol

  • the music from about 3:09 is friggin gangsta!!

  • You said it !!! Thats my favorite track from this game.

  • Abobo? lol

  • 4:43 Mr. T?

  • for some reason the song, starting at 3:49

remind to the one of crime story...(even when they are completly different lol) maybe is the tune

  • Classic game and classic theme!!

Why can't we stay kids for ever?? :-(

  • we cant stay kids forever because human cells age and each new cell is even more unaccurate than the one that created it. find a way to solve the problem and stay as kid 4ever

  • I agree with you. But there was no need in saying something we already know. I just expressed a wish, the answer to which has already been provided by science.

It's all about these games (like DD) that bring back childhood memories and make us recall the days when we were 14 all over again and felt the thrill of playing them 4the first time...

    :-))

  • 4:50 DO a BARREL ROLL

  • 4:50 press R or Z twice!

  • what song is that starts since 07:08 ???? I've listened a remix of that song too, but never heard it in the game.

  • from what i know, this was meant to be in the game, but for reasons unknown it was scrapped from the final product. and if you see Macromi's playthrough, it plays as well (he even commented that he found this by accident when he was loading a savestate and the game goofed up)

  • I remeber that the elbow hit was the key for beating all levels. And when playing doubles, at the last level, you came to the point once you've beaten the final boss, that you had to kill your mate!

Thanx so much for the video!

  • oh cuantos recuerdos... sooo many memories!!!

  • god knows how many quarters i spent back in the day in the arcade trying to beat the last level...ahhh memories

  • I agree with the people below who mentioned that the NES port sounds much better than the arcade.

  • Well the NES version doesnt show her panties but yeah, I'm surprised the concept made it to the states anyway. Although in DD2's NES port they dont show her being murdered, which shows they sensor to some degree.

  • i freaked out when i saw the original start of the game with that guy shooting Marion. lol!!! another game which shows censorship is Golden Axe 1. when you beat Death Adder (i think that's his name) his axe flies into the air, and he falls down, and then the axe lands on his chest. same thing happens in the american version, but on the Japanese version blood sprays out of his chest!

  • The start of Double Dragon 2 had Marion shot in the arcade, I think.

  • lol is it just me or does that guy with the machine gun look like he's built like Arnold Schwartznegger and his face/hair looks like Steven Segal??? that's an unstoppable force lmfao!

  • LOL @ that guy that killed himself with dynamite

  • LOL @ the start... pretty sure that didnt make it to the states

  • yeah, that scene made it to the NES version. In the Japanese version she gets SHOT by that guy with the machine gun!

  • on 4:10 did that guy falll through the floor

  • This appears to be a rare moment where the arcade version is noticeably worse sounding then a NES port. The snare in this arcade sounds like someone spitting! Maybe it's nostalgia speaking, but that didn't sound nearly as good as the NES port (lvl 1 music especially). Looks 10 times better of course...

  • Finally someone agrees.

  • Nice attention to audio detail.

  • @dancingmind I prefer the arcade version over the NES version anyday.. much better sounding composition.. and the sound effects of hits landing are still bone crunching to this day.

  • I hear you posted one of the unused arcade tracks here (can see why it wasn't used, a little too upbeat)... where's the other one?

  • It always amazed me back in the day how lousy the two AI players do in the attract mode... ;)

  • it was common for arcades back then dumb AI players

  • No, I mean the player characters in the demo don't even play right... they kick at the air, don't work together, etc. Usually the attract mode shows you how to play, these guys suck! ;)

  • thats what i meant lol

  • Hehe, now that you mention it, I notice that they do....I always saw kicking at the air as a good thing, since I wouldn't get damaged =P

  • I would empty out my pocket change in this game back in 1988..lol. Our neighborhood deli used to have it there.

  • Dude, easiest trick in the book was to just alternate elbows back and forth on any mob, can get to the last level on one quarter that way.

  • Mundane, but indeed that works, as Ive done that before (if you want to get it done on a quarter), but then the flavor of the game is lost. Exciting/interesting vs. efficiency/repetitiveness. Either way this game still kicks ass in my book!

  • too easy i only use it when im in trubble

  • too easy i only use it when im in trubble

  • this takes me back to Karlshrue Germany, 1990

  • The part I love is that half the opposition of Act II goes into that pit. Anyone who played this game enough knew that was a strategic opportunity which was well demonstrated. :)

  • i loved the part where you fight 2 abobos

  • LOL, me and my friends used to giggle at that name... abobos. Taking them out was fun too. I can see why you loved that part, the bigger the guy, the harder they fall.

  • BRING IT ON

  • Had it on gameboy, really good conversion... and music of the first stage roxx!!

  • After playing this game a zillion times with an old buddy, we were able to get it done on 1 quarter each. LMAO, I have no idea how much wasted youthful time and money we put into practicing this. Im sure other readers of this comment had some similar experience. Hi, to all the enthusiasts of this game, you all rock!

  • Haha yuuuuup

  • dont be ashamed hahahaha

  • If you want to play it again on your computer just PM me and I'll make it happen.

  • I remember this game, there was this DD arcade in the shopping mall where my mom always dragged me to buy new clothes as a kid and i always told her i was going to buy candy and she gave me money and i did run a played this and i never came any longer then to the first boss, i think i did defeat him once or twice xD

  • They had the arcade cabinet of this game at the local Caldor (a defunct department store). I used to bug my dad for quarters to play it when I was a little kid in the late 80s.

  • Another DD entry? No complaints here!

    :D

  • sound's like genesis

  • Actually this IS the TRUE arcade music.

  • It does, I know. But this is on the arcades.

  • This is the real deal; I played it countless times like these other viewers. :)

  • baxter, roper, buzzsaw, the chin brothers, DUKE, STEVE i remember all these bad guys!!

  • Ha! Same here.

We're both from an era where reading the instructional manual ENHANCED the gaming experience.

  • This is classic! :D
