Fake, Mythbusters did a show where a girl was supposidly on a see saw and a parachutist landed on the one end and propelled the girl 7 stories high.

They found that the G forces alone from leaving at the speed would have killed her, as well the see saw that mythbusters tested on the control broke when the weight landed meaning the initial for on a standard straight object broke it and lowered the force at which the person was shot off at.

When they go through a myth they test many facets of that myth, this includes calculating some of the results, in the case above Greg had calculated what the gforce would be exerted on take off and that the person on the other end would have been severely ingured from that alone.

Sure the show is entertainment, sure they enjoy ramping it up, however there still is alot of science involved.
