I learnt the left hand by watching this video and working on the piece everyday. I can play the whole piece all from watching various videos of people playing this song. Its not impossible as i am no musical genius l, just alot of work !

come on guys, he is not playing by ear !! just by heart !! I play piano for 10 years, and I have the sheet of this music, the notes are exactly the same. And please, believe me, learning the LEFT hand by ear, is quite impossible. You need to LEARN. But people like to lie a bit to give good impression. Check it out the original sheet and you will see it.... cheers.

@Bugy34 So true! I have the sheet music too, and I too have to look at my left hand when I play (which makes me miss the final E note on my right hand almost every time (go figure, I always end of the F and need to correct quickly to my embarassement).

@Bugy34 lol... sorry, but just because you can't learn the left hand by ear, doesn't mean it's impossible. There's nothing special about "left hand" notes; they're all just notes on a piano. Plenty of people (with perfect pitch, special memories, etc) can perfectly recreate music (both left and right hand). And of course the notes will be exactly the same-- that means they learnt it correctly. (Even I can learn "left hand notes" by ear if I hear a piece often enough.)

@lyngbyy Well... I didnt try Comptine d'un autre été, but La valse d'Amélie isnt hard at all. Its a lot easier than it seems, and a very nice piece to play :D I think Comptine d'un autre été must be the same difficulty...

@oOsomeoneOo123 Playing both, for speed and timing la valse is more difficult, but for key sensitivity i'd still say d'un autre été is harder =) On the overall it has less different paths 2 learn so.. I gues it takes less time 2 master =)
