  • Genius songwriter.

  • love this song. the lyrics, the voice, the melody...pure class

  • Anybody here for 9th wonder?

  • I mean, come on...does it get much better than this? Mr. Caldwell used to perform at the Blackstone and the Jazz Showcase in Chicago. I went to see him. This man is awesome.....I bought his first song he ever made and fell in love with his style. He's actually a legend but seems to be underplayed. We Chicagoans love him. Hey!! : )

  • It may have been 2 summers ago when I got Bobby's first 3 albums and he was all I listened to for a at least a month. I truly enjoy his music. I'm 22 btw. Made a cover of "What You Won't Do For Love" if anyone is interested. Just check out my page

  • I loved him at age 13, my friends thought I was crazy. Thanks for posting this gorgeous song-- one of his best!

  • @1axalove You were rather smart at 13. Good, clean and meaningful tunes don't really have an age bracket! LOL : )

  • @boomerang905 Agree! It did help to have older siblings who loved jazz-- my friends just needed their musical minds opened up a little (to other than Shaun Cassidy and Leif Garrett : p ). I was blown away, to borrow a phrase from another commenter, by BC's voice and that gorgeous music, still am. He always brings me up. I envy you you got to see him- what an absolute delight that must have been!!

  • @1axalove Absolutely. I had older siblings as well and they introduced me to more music than my peers may have enjoyed, even though I liked the current music of my time as well. I got introduced to Charlie Parker and all the greats at a very young age, like seven. No joke, so I understand your sophistication in music and it is sophisticated to enjoy something outside your realm of music, for instance. Mr. Caldwell was awesome and so cool and gave his heart to his performances. : )

  • YES !!

  • Love this song, my break-up in 1980.

  • may very well be the sexiest little guit solo in the fckn world!!

  • badassssss

  • Barbershop (saying it in the african dude's voice from the movie)

  • He's one of the few white atrist I give prope too right on Bobby for this cut from my childhood.

  • Cat in the hat is back....Sweet!

  • Yet another long time fan of Mr. Caldwell and this song in particular!!

  • Been a Caldwell fan for many, many years. I agree

this is one of my favorite tracks from him. Great post!

  • Ditto what 3811iberis said. Actually, double-ditto.

  • Go Bobby go. I love ya guy because you are simply a great singer and stylist. What You Won't Do For Love got me hooked on you. I hope you do the Jazz Showcase again in Chi-town. That's where I saw you last. Heyyyyy. Love it and thanks for the upload ; ) Heyyyy again......

  • @9876543217303 When was he at the Jazz Showcase in Chicago????? Who did he perform with???

  • RAF Bentwaters UK! This song helped me met my first specaial lady!

  • He made the original, 'What You Won't Do for Love." That is one of the most remade songs in music history. I had an opportunity to see him in concert, he was just as good, if not better in person. He did some jazz classics and just went away. I'm so glad this was posted. Glad to know Bobby can inspire a new generation of music lovers! I have been a fan of his music over 30 years now.

  • I remember being an import record buyer for a company in the U.K. many moons ago, this came in totally blew me away, been a fan ever since..........

  • Why don't we hear this great music more often? Many thanks to Bobby C.

  • this man is unbeliivable

  • This is simply my favorite track from this supreme jazz/R&B crooner, one of the finest R&B tracks from 1980, and arguably, of the entire decade of the 80's, timeless music...

  • @3811iberis - Agreed!

  • Sigh. Where is HE????

  • @lightbearer87 Hey, I'm going to find out. Haven't seen him in years. He's absolutely fabulous! We need us some Bobby! Thumbs up!

  • He sounds like stevie a bit!

  • love this song. It tears everything loose in my heart.

  • @jameslickms I kinda feel that way too........some songs just do that!

  • Love this joint. 9th Wonder also sampled this for ''Barbershop'' by Murs.
