I know for a fact that the Horns are from a song called "EL MANICERO", not sure which version though, because it's been covered by so many Singers/Bands.
@XaviusX the flute at 1:01 is from a song called 'Mahalia, I Want Back My Dollar' - Lord Invader & His Calypso Rhythm Boys. not on youtube but check it out on Grooveshark
I used the SHAZAM app from my iPhone to see if it's an existing song, but I got no match, so it's possible that it may be an unreleased song. Whether or not it's from the Avalanches, that's obviously not 100% clear, but it sure sounds like them.
not sure which idiot originally said this isn't the avalanches, but they're wrong. this is their material. and for those of you who don't know the avalanches have a lot of music, they just aren't full length albums.
I heard on the grapevine their new direction is gonna be more hip-hop so this probally isn't them because they would've changed their sound since the last album, but its a reasonably good stab at it. I realise now how different that was when it came out more in retrospect although i loved it at the time,
........ this IS the avalanches. Why do you think the title has their name in it? The avalanches have more music than just their one full length album, you should check it out.
It's pretty obvious this is not an avalanches song. You can tell especially by the way this guy uses the knitting samples. He took an entire knitting lesson, cut it into a few pieces and played it through the whole song. The avalanches would have probably used one segment of the whole sample, and modified it some how and looped it.
Even though it's not a real Avalanches song, It's still really good.
@TriangleSyrup you muffin! "The avalanches would have probably used one segment of the whole sample, and modified it some how and looped it." how the f*&^ would YOU know that, after ten years! lol, idk and I sure as hell don't belive you, even if you do turn out to be right!
Avalanches DO NOT need clearance for any samples. They are being ridiculous to even bother. Look at Girl Talk! He's barely even changing the songs and doesn't clear anything!
definatly not, they wouldn't follow such a long strain of samples. they would cut in smaller and more frequent samples, they wouldn't play through a whole stiching thing.
Absolute wabs who uploaded this, this should be a teaser or something, not an actual track to spoil what the avalanches may have in store. It's a secret, and lets face it, we cant wait. Why spoil the tension?
The avalanches are amazing, though I feel that they just shouldnt be spoiled by leaks and rough "unmixed version for other new promo albums" that has destroyed so many good albums before. Take Franz ferndiand for example.
Think of the potential the Avalanches would have if they didn't need clearence for samples. They could probably do a new album every year instead of one every ten years. These guys are amazing. Much love
the samples are all really simple -- they sound like just copy pasta'd pieces from random other songs instead of it being a cohesive unit that blends together. The transitions were pretty good though, but when they've transitioned, there's no variance -- amateur work.
Whether or not that's true, The Avalanches are true crate diggers and some of the samples they find are incredibly rare. That's the mark of a good sampler, I think. You have to dig deep to find the best stuff, which is what they did.
Obviously you have never taken the time out of your moronic day to actually listen to The Avalanches. Amateur work..bahaha You are an idiot. This song is from 2001on one of the first eps by The Avalanches. Marikun is right, you have to dig deep like an archaeologist to get those samples.
No chance this is new from The Avalanches - sounds like a cliche'd track from Since I Left You - surely they've come up with something new after 10 years. That said, it's groovy, but missing something.
I've never heard this track before, though one of the samples (brass instrument?) sounds familiar, possibly from an Avalanches live set. Sounds very polished though. Could be legit.
Would be a shame if this is a wind up. The sounds pretty similar to SILY, maybe a little confusing given that James De La Cruz said that the new album will be something completely different. Still sounds class, nice little song.
...Me - as a real avalanches fan - can't take these stupid jokes after waiting for 8 years and will figger this out.If I find something regarding this particular song (where it's from - who made this?), and real - hard proof - new avalanches material, i'll definetly let you know.
There is a 10% chance that this is really a new avalanches song, 30% chance this bloke doesn't now what this is and is hoping that it really is a new avalanches song and 60% chance he's just fucking with our minds (as you all would have noticed - this youtube account also tells us this song is the new lemon jelly song)...
If You want to hear a new track from The Avalanches Look Up the trailer for nevereverland by johnathan zawada, it is on his site. I'm not sure if it's on the album its not upbeat but it is non the less grandeur
doesn't matter if it is the avalanches cos it's just as good!

I know it isn't The Avalanches because this song is based mostly on the same samples. Avalanches songs change multiple times througout.

You can't honestly say that in a decade they will sound just like they did? Keep an open mind people!
