  • doesn't matter if it is the avalanches cos it's just as good!

  • I know it isn't The Avalanches because this song is based mostly on the same samples. Avalanches songs change multiple times througout.

  • Try-hard rip of the Avalanches style aka Since I left you title track. Don't think this is the Avalanches boys & girls.

  • I know for a fact that the Horns are from a song called "EL MANICERO", not sure which version though, because it's been covered by so many Singers/Bands.

  • @XaviusX good spot!

  • @XaviusX the flute at 1:01 is from a song called 'Mahalia, I Want Back My Dollar' - Lord Invader & His Calypso Rhythm Boys. not on youtube but check it out on Grooveshark

  • I used the SHAZAM app from my iPhone to see if it's an existing song, but I got no match, so it's possible that it may be an unreleased song. Whether or not it's from the Avalanches, that's obviously not 100% clear, but it sure sounds like them.

  • love the horns at 1:39! almost sounds reminiscent of quantic

  • not sure which idiot originally said this isn't the avalanches, but they're wrong. this is their material. and for those of you who don't know the avalanches have a lot of music, they just aren't full length albums.

  • I heard on the grapevine their new direction is gonna be more hip-hop so this probally isn't them because they would've changed their sound since the last album, but its a reasonably good stab at it. I realise now how different that was when it came out more in retrospect although i loved it at the time,

  • Whoooooo are you, who-who who-who?

  • sounds like Lemonjelly, but I don't think its them...

  • alright so there's a consensus that this isn't The Avalanches, what's the name name of the actual artist and song title?

  • This sounds pretty Avalanches-ish. I would be very surprised if someone else could make a song this good.

  • This is the best Avalanches. What a good luck to be born at the same time!

    Go ahead!

    Best regards from Catalonia!

  • the stuff dreams are made of. like gumbo .

  • I'm not convinced this is The Avalanches. Fuck sake.

  • Hold on a second, how can anyone define the avalanches 'sound'? They've released one album! One album, nearly ten years ago!

You can't honestly say that in a decade they will sound just like they did? Keep an open mind people!

  • i dont care who made this, or how much its ripping off the avalanches style; this is awesome

  • @GetGrayMusic

........ this IS the avalanches. Why do you think the title has their name in it? The avalanches have more music than just their one full length album, you should check it out.

  • It's pretty obvious this is not an avalanches song. You can tell especially by the way this guy uses the knitting samples. He took an entire knitting lesson, cut it into a few pieces and played it through the whole song. The avalanches would have probably used one segment of the whole sample, and modified it some how and looped it.

Even though it's not a real Avalanches song, It's still really good.

  • @TriangleSyrup you muffin! "The avalanches would have probably used one segment of the whole sample, and modified it some how and looped it." how the f*&^ would YOU know that, after ten years! lol, idk and I sure as hell don't belive you, even if you do turn out to be right!

  • This is very much the Avalanche sound. You can't compare them to Girl Talk because he doesn't charge for his half rate mash ups.

  • Avalanches DO NOT need clearance for any samples. They are being ridiculous to even bother. Look at Girl Talk! He's barely even changing the songs and doesn't clear anything!

  • this is so not the avalanches

  • maybe this is the new Avalanches... get used to it, people change

  • not the avalanches. this is bullshit.

  • not the avalanches, but i love it, what is this?

  • @thenineteez agreed, WHO IS THIS ARTIST!? whoever it is, is amazing. pretty positive this song is not The Avalanches

  • this ain't the avalanches

  • i see a lil flying lotus in it

  • i agree, vey ky jelly =]

  • sounds more like lemonjelly

  • definatly not, they wouldn't follow such a long strain of samples. they would cut in smaller and more frequent samples, they wouldn't play through a whole stiching thing.

  • I don't know this track sounds too much like somebody TRYING to sound like the avalanches.

  • The entire album is supposed to have more of a "party sound" than the last, so I kind of doubt it.

  • It does sound like them...I do hope it is, I like it.

  • It sounds like a fitting sequel to the single 'Since I Left You'

  • not even close

  • So you confirm, this is not official?

  • I wont accept until I see it official. Cant trust scams like these, these days.

  • 100% avalanches if you know about music.......

  • false. go to the webpage in the description, its actually another artist's work.

  • Nice track but its too simple to be the Avalanches.

  • if anyone here is a big fan of the these guy they wouldnt even question to say that this song wasnt made by the avalanches..just listen.....

  • @coadykai27 if you used your brain instead of your ego/heart you'd find you were very wrong.

  • Not sure if it's real or not, but it's amazing, regardless. I hope it's real.

  • they're "da man!"

  • hey everybody its not real. git wit it.

  • love this band!

  • Who needs sample clearance? Not the underground...

  • an excellent tune.

However, uploading this is a disgrace.

Absolute wabs who uploaded this, this should be a teaser or something, not an actual track to spoil what the avalanches may have in store. It's a secret, and lets face it, we cant wait. Why spoil the tension?

The avalanches are amazing, though I feel that they just shouldnt be spoiled by leaks and rough "unmixed version for other new promo albums" that has destroyed so many good albums before. Take Franz ferndiand for example.

  • deal with it man its a song by the funkiest band out just run it and dont talk about it

  • I guess it's on metre at how much you apprieciate the artist, rather than want to listen to free leaks...

I for one just choose to respect the artist, honouring the fact that artists secrets should be kept for and by themselves!

Different opinions really, so I respect you just the same, all the best!

  • It's not even an avalanches song.

  • then who is it?

  • I know how this makes what i said seem wrong, but I can't remember.

It was on the official avalanches forum somewhere, the fans on that forum deciphered it and found the original artist.

  • @bucetv

ahhh do you know the name of the forum or have a link? i really like whoever this artist is!

  • Think of the potential the Avalanches would have if they didn't need clearence for samples. They could probably do a new album every year instead of one every ten years. These guys are amazing. Much love

  • the samples are all really simple -- they sound like just copy pasta'd pieces from random other songs instead of it being a cohesive unit that blends together. The transitions were pretty good though, but when they've transitioned, there's no variance -- amateur work.

  • Whether or not that's true, The Avalanches are true crate diggers and some of the samples they find are incredibly rare. That's the mark of a good sampler, I think. You have to dig deep to find the best stuff, which is what they did.

  • Obviously you have never taken the time out of your moronic day to actually listen to The Avalanches. Amateur work..bahaha You are an idiot. This song is from 2001on one of the first eps by The Avalanches. Marikun is right, you have to dig deep like an archaeologist to get those samples.

  • wow what a douche you are

  • so this is an avalanches track? albeit an old one.

  • Whats the song called?

  • Still havent found out, but I hear its by "Boy Communication" (avalanches forum)

  • In other words...the person who uploaded it here?

  • it says in the information thing at the top right of the page that this is a rough unmixed version, chill winston

  • Where can I download this

    ???

  • No chance this is new from The Avalanches - sounds like a cliche'd track from Since I Left You - surely they've come up with something new after 10 years. That said, it's groovy, but missing something.

  • my sentiments exactly sir.....or madam, whatever, you dunno, anyway, your right.

  • but there is a new album in work - right?

  • The new album is done, they're clearing samples.

  • Awesome track, but I wonder who actually made it...

  • i wouldn tdoubt that this is the avalanches. but it could easily be a fake. it does sound good either way.

  • bollocks

  • Is it really?

  • does anyone have this on a better qualitty ?

  • I've never heard this track before, though one of the samples (brass instrument?) sounds familiar, possibly from an Avalanches live set. Sounds very polished though. Could be legit.

  • well whoever made this - its a lovely sweet tune! well done!

  • it's great that i learnt how to knit through this sweet track but someone (boycom?) has to reveal the origins of this mysteriousness

  • is this the avalanches? is it from their new album? anyone?

  • Has anyone actually figured out who this song is really from?

  • the problem i have with this is that it sounds like the avalanches 8 years ago, not how they would sound now

    they're about progression, not stagnating

  • Would be a shame if this is a wind up. The sounds pretty similar to SILY, maybe a little confusing given that James De La Cruz said that the new album will be something completely different. Still sounds class, nice little song.

  • so... what is this song?

  • this has got to be them, and it sounds insane.

  • ...Me - as a real avalanches fan - can't take these stupid jokes after waiting for 8 years and will figger this out.If I find something regarding this particular song (where it's from - who made this?), and real - hard proof - new avalanches material, i'll definetly let you know.

    Greetings from Holland

  • There is a 10% chance that this is really a new avalanches song, 30% chance this bloke doesn't now what this is and is hoping that it really is a new avalanches song and 60% chance he's just fucking with our minds (as you all would have noticed - this youtube account also tells us this song is the new lemon jelly song)...

  • If You want to hear a new track from The Avalanches Look Up the trailer for nevereverland by johnathan zawada, it is on his site. I'm not sure if it's on the album its not upbeat but it is non the less grandeur

  • It does sound like The Avalanches. I really like it too. Hope it's real.

  • this sounds like it could be real, but it sounds more like its just a part of an unreleased mix by them than an actual song.

  • in any event, ive found myself returning to this over and over again because i really like to listen to it.

  • Love them and it's been tooooooooooooooooo long!

  • i think you'll find this is thank you caroline from the since i left you single. not their new song.

  • This is not "Thank You Caroline"

I don't know which song this is, if it is by The Avalanches at all, but hopefully it really is from the long awaited second album.

  • The video response is the actual "Thank You Caroline"

It's quite the groovy little yamaha piece.

  • It could be them... it's hard to say! haha

  • Is this real?
