  • Thanks JayB they're some great sounds you've given us all access to, really appreciate it.

  • Gotta love those old Korg waveforms. I used to play X5D in a band a long time ago. I can safely say I didn't get those sounds out of it! Cool stuff.

I used SySeX Librarian on my Mac for uploading.

    Thanks for your help.

  • How much does the X5D usually go for?

  • does korg x5d has the accordion and synth voice????

  • When making these patches did you install extra sounds on the module? Like additional waveforms and such? I just got a hold of this and was wondering if that was how you got these sounds...

  • @AcoustiksDrumnBass No, this is the original X5D without modifications. It's just a matter of programming. ;)

  • Does the sound editor only run on 32bit operating systems?

  • @fractaldistractions THe original editor is a 16-bit application. There are propably some other editors that are native 32-bit programs and are supported on 64-bit systems.

  • @Hanni13579 It's cool, I'm an idiot. I bought an x5 not an x5d lol. So I take it it's impossible to get these patches working ;o)

  • hy, the sound bank donwload no longer present, can you send me the soundbank

  • Is this patch compatible with the Korg X5?

  • Hey, I might be getting a Korg X5DR (rackmount) soon. Is there anyway to transfer your sounds onto the rackmount?

  • @FotecVideoVault Sure. The same way like on the keyboard version. :)

  • watch also, Tamse Remastered.im using x5d at the adlib part

  • Great sounds!

  • Hi there JB, the sound you made is really great, I mostly use your sounds for fast, RnB and techno song, its really useful to me, even I only have x5dr sound module, specially the euro lead, jp-8000, airwave, anthem and nimbus also trance.. I'm also amaze to the sound explosion, it's like theres a portmiento, but actually theres no portamiento in x5d..

I wonder if you have new sets of sound that you can share to us.. THANKS Its really awesome!

  • 2:33 A28: Regenzeit is beautiful sounding! I want one of these keyboards now just so I can play that sound! I have to say that pad just beats the pads out of my KORG Wavestation EX lol

  • genial

  • Got a huge question for you. I'm trying to get my x5d sound editing program to work in classic os9 on my powerbook g4. but the midi information is not being read.....what can I do to make this work? Its driving me nuts.

    Thanks

  • Hey JB do you know how I can get a good PIANO preset (Sound) in my X5D.. I've Been having problems with that...

  • @Anberlin360Rcks Not at all, I'm afraid. The piano sound of the X5D sucks and you can't do anything about it.

  • @Hanni13579 Oh yes!!! Piano of X5D is sucks!!! I have this problem too,

  • @Anberlin360Rcks Try out the Cubase/Pro Logic VST. "Ivory - Grand Pianos" it has best grand piano sounds i ever heard

  • @Waaop thanks bro..

  • kung kblo lng ko tne nga iprogram akon x5d...grabe gid tni ang sounds nga ma produce sdto..haaaayy...

  • Alright mate, that isnt your Korg X5D I just bought on ebay is it?

  • @autumn666 I'd be crazy to sell this machine. ;)

  • @Hanni13579 Ahh okay, I've just had one off ebay and the person put a link to this vid so I wondered if it was you. Really love your sound's, being trying to download them but finding it difficult

  • great video, but your site does not work... i wanted check patches because i have ns5r

  • @KovalStudios Site moved to a new server and should be available now. Check description for new link. :)

  • Hey JB.. This is awsome.. really Cool... But you know how to get this stuff to work when having Win 7 64 bit? .. The drivers seem to fail :( ...

  • @dizmaster112 which drivers are you talking about?

  • Great Vid! You also have experience/knowledge of the rack version?

I can pick one up for a decent price.. Just wondering if i can get as much out of it compared with the keyboard version. Thanks for uploading!

  • AFAIK there's no difference except for the missing keyboard. Korg actually mentions the possibility to combine X5D and X5DR to double polyphony (by limiting one synth to odd keys, the other one to even keys), so the sound must be the same. :)

  • Great this is nice. Thank you. 100/100 NICEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • hi ace sounds how do i get em?

  • Hey man, lovely patches! Hey, i cant use that program because im on a 64 bit system.. But there should be away of doing this with for example midiquest xl huh? If so could you explain it to me, and also how i open your patches when they're in the synth! Just got the synth, my first hardware one so know relativly nothing :) Thanks man, ill be grateful!!

  • @Dropkicken I offered a .syx file with the same data like the .x5 file. It can be opened with a SysEx file of your choice. My advice is to use the software MIDI-Ox to which you can find a link on my page as well. :)

  • hey I have just got this on my X5d. Amazing sounds... really unbelievable. Is the Effects changable? like the BPM of the delays?

  • You've got some good synth skills there! Do you write any music?

  • @MrSammotube Yes I do. Check out my playlists "JayB's Songs" and "Pfefferminz" to hear a few productions of mine. :)

  • wow you rocki it

  • @1:01 : it's "Flat Beat" from Mr Oizo, indeed :) excellent re-creation of that FAT MS-20 bass sound ;)

  • PERFEKT!!!!!

  • sweet dude .. i hate the sounds on the x5d... but you somehow managed to get some sweet ass patches

  • Can I use your bank in a Korg X50?

  • @Gurka9999 No.

  • very nice men. the Korg X5D is the best.

  • The Korg X5D Is the best.

  • good job !!! the korg x5d is a great synth and a lot more if used properly

  • the Bell sound in the middle is fantastic! and the arp sounds too.

Im guessing from the comments that this is quite hard to do on the X5?I had a Ns5R would it have worked on that?

What kind of modern synths do you like using?

  • With the NS5R you would have been on the save side. Though it's only few sounds that wouldn't have worked on an X5. The only "modern" synth I'm using is a Roland V-Synth XT. But I plan to exchange my Yamaha S80 with an Yamaha S90XS. :)

  • Thanks for sharing your custom patches dude! I'm amazed you got that much out of the synth, it's inspiring me to dust mine off again!

  • wow!!! i have a Korg 5xd since 7 years old and never thought it can do that!! i download your presets thx! can i ask a favor? what kind of scales are you using? minor, mayor, chromatic, pentatonic?? thx for your answer

PS disculpa mi ingles, i'm mexican

  • is it possible i could get a copy of the settings for my x5 ?

  • hi ,

this post is bouncing ... are these standard factory presets just with a little tweaking ?

  • No. These sounds are created from scratch. And they were directly pogrammed on the X5D. No editor software was used.

  • eyy man im a starting keyboardist for a band.. and im mesmerized by this vid!! i will buy korg x5d!! yeayhh!

  • JayB, I just wanted to give you a very big thank you! You just made my N1 come to life like never before. I used an M-audio midisport to make the connection and loaded your fantastic programs with no problem. You are the best! Thanks so much, Rich F. from Chicago.

  • It's good to know that it really does work on an N-series synth, I could only check it in theory. And I'm glad that you like it. :)

  • I love the way that sounds. Sounds like a x50 back in the day. Where can I get one of these from?!!!!

  • Regenzeit is one of the nicest patches I've ever heard.. You made all of these sounds yourself? very impressive.

  • thx man! that worked I really apreciate your help. i can now apply your patches. I would like to use them in FL Studio but my e-mu midi to usb doesnt appear to have any signal :( i have set the options to midi, and configured the channel, but still no input :( any ideas?

  • hey brother, i need to know, i bought a x5d today and have a midi to usb cable to my pc, i did everything as i used to do in order to work, but i have the impression the midi is not going out of the keyboard? can you please help me :) thx

  • If there's no midi data going out of the X5D, but going in, you should still be able to transfer my sounds with the editor. You jus can't recieve data for backups, however the preset patches are always available inside the X5D or on the web.

  • @Hanni13579 ok thanks for the reply, do you use a specific software for that?

  • Only the SE-05 editor that came with the X5D on floppy disc.

  • thnx for the gr8 patches! those trancey leads do surprisingly sound fat :)

(a few dont work on my 05R/W if others r wondering/own one)

  • wonderful can you tell me wats the name of the songs ?? i like all of them

  • As you can't see, there are subtitles for all the song I played in the video. If there's yet no song with that melody I can't give you a name.

  • wonder where i can find a vst plugin of this same keyboard?

    any links?

  • Look for the Korg Legacy Digital Edition. The Korg M1 has a very similar engine and most sounds are reprogrammable. :)

  • great sounds!!! and nice perfomance

  • Is the Korg X5d just the Korg X5?

  • It's the Korg X5 with double polyphony (64) and 4 MB additional wave rom.

  • Correction, 2 MB additional ROM.

    X5 - 6 MB

    X5D - 8 MB

  • Oh, okay. So I was messing something up. :)

  • JayB, will they work/sound just as good on the X5?

I've just picked one up on eBay just to get these bloomin patches, couldn't get hold of an X5D for less than extortionate pricing.

  • Nice stuff.

    Your link doesn't work, though.

  • You're hired!
