no don't try to keep it simple. this song has to be so intense that when i see you, i can see both pain and hope. Try not to use too much vibrato, especially on the words like "we barely met". I should be able to notice the difference and styles of singing before and after "you see me as i am". Everything you sing before that should be simple and sincere. Everything after that is a statement, so make sure you use forte. try doing a quick decrescendo on the word "hand" and sing the rest of

Andy im not sure if its gone by yet and how you did but my only problem is your acting of the song! this is a song i also use as an audition piece and i sing it pretty similar to you but the advice i was given was actually be the character and believe what you are saying!! i found it very difficult to believe you. it was almost as if you were just singing the song!! not sure if any of that makes sense but i hope everything went and goes well for you!

When I recorded it, I actually had the concern that it might look like I was just "singing" it because my goal was to keep it a simple as possible, given the fact that Leo is so emotionally distant. I will certainly take the note for future auditions with that piece and make it more active and motivated.
1. less room over your head in the camera shot would be nice
2. it seems like there could be a couple more different tactics/actions, for example, maybe somewhere you could almost be laughing at the whole situation cause you are so baffled by it all
3. maybe try it sitting down once to see what it does
but really, in all, it is pretty darn incredible! love it!!!

this is really really good. :) You sound great!
really pciky, but here are my thoughts....
