MGS1 is still such a great PS1 game and it'll always be such a great classic too. It's still one of my most favorite video games of all time and it never grows old. It'll always still be remembered as a timeless classic to have for years to come. MGS1 FTW! :)
@Cpt50Caliber That's cool then. I still have this game for my PS1 console too and it's also backwards compatible on my PS2 and PS3 systems. So far, I have two copies of this game including MGS: The Twin Snakes for the GameCube. It's still such a great game and it never gets old either. MGS1 still remains as one of my most favorite video games ever of all time and it's also one of my favorite PS1 games that I have for PS1 and it's one of my most favorite MGS video games in the Metal Gear series.
I think mostly everyone or at least some people needs to just leave me alone sometimes. I really don't like to be bothered all the time and I just want people to just leave me alone too. That's all that I'm asking for and I'm just saying too.
So far already, I still have both MGS1 for PS1 and MGS: The Twin Snakes for Nintendo GameCube and both games are still so great to play. MGS1 and MGS: The Twin Snakes are still my most favorite games ever and also my favorite MGS games in the series. Plus, MGS1 is one of my favorite games ever for the PS1 and MGS: The Twin Snakes is one of my favorite GameCube games. It's so awesome. I really like MGS: The Twin Snakes too and it feels like you're playing both MGS1 and MGS2 at the same time too.
Well, as far as I know, at least some of my comments at some videos haven't been getting rated negative as much and that's what I like too. I'm only just saying though. I know it doesn't really matter what ratings people get for their text comments and all. It's just that I don't like negative ratings for some reason and I just didn't like it when people used to bother me with that all the time. I just like to be left alone and I don't like it when people mess around with any of my comments.
Great MGS1 cutscenes again. This is really so epic. I have to say though that at the part where Wolf was dying, that tune that was playing in the background almost makes me want to cry or something. It really sounds so sad and that tune also played at the ending sequence of MGS1 on the Otacon chapter where Meryl died and Snake and Otacon escaped. I even heard it before on MGS4 too on Shadow Moses Island when Naomi was dying and Snake, Otacon, and Raiden were planning on making their escape.
This game is still the best and this will always remain as a great PS1 classic too. I still have MGS1 for my PS1 and it's such a great game to play too. I actually have two copies of MGS1 for right now. I have the one that was sold separately and the one that was included in the MGS: Essential Collection set for PS2 along with both MGS2: Substance and MGS3: Subsistence. It's so awesome and so far, MGS1 is still my favorite game in the series as well as one of my most favorite games ever for PS1.
I do have one other question that I'm just making sure of again too. I know that MGS1 is mostly for PS1, but I've heard that there is a PC version or something of the game too. Now the gameplay from MGS1 that was featured here in this video along with the other parts of MGS1; is this really the PS1 version of MGS1 or the PC version?
LOL It's so amazing that the graphics on the PC version of MGS1 that is contained here in these videos are really similar just like the PS1 version too. MGS1 rules! :)
Now this is only for my opinion, but I've realized this. In the MGS video game series, too bad that the original Xbox version of MGS2: Substance wouldn't be backwards compatible on the Xbox 360 models. They have an Xbox version of that game along with the PS2 and PC versions and maybe the one for the Xbox should be compatible. It's such a great game since it's an enhanced version of MGS2 and after all, all or most Xbox 360 models do play some of the original Xbox games. So I'm just saying.
Yeah. Again, I think it would be great if the original Xbox version of MGS2: Substance was ever backwards compatible on any of the Xbox 360 models. After all, they have the PS2 version of MGS2: Substance available and it is backwards compatible on some of the older PS3 models that can still play most of the PS2 games available. They should have probably done the same thing between Xbox and Xbox 360 as well. MGS2: Substance is a great game still and all it is is just an enhanced version of MGS2.
Did you mean Sniper Wolf, alphaomega887654321? If so, then just to let you know, it was Solid Snake in both MGS1 and MGS: The Twin Snakes who killed her during the 2nd boss battle with Wolf. I'm just letting you know in case that was what you were talking about or what you probably meant.
Yeah. I figured that then and I was just letting you know then. You're welcome too. By the way, both MGS1 and MGS: The Twin Snakes are the same, but just a little bit different. That's all. MGS1 is available for PS1 and MGS: The Twin Snakes is available for Nintendo GameCube and that game is an enhanced remake of MGS1. So MGS: The Twin Snakes is the same as MGS1, but just a little different. The voice actors are different as well as the dialogue, the graphics, and the gameplay elements.
You know, Ampeex, from what I've heard, I think there may be a MGS film coming out soon for real or something. I'm not too sure yet though about it and everything. I've heard of something once about a MGS film in production, but I don't know exactly when it'll be released and things like that. One thing that I did hear though once before was that the original voice actor for Solid Snake who is David Hayter won't play as Snake in the film. Somebody else will be playing the role of Solid Snake.
MGS1 is just simply the best game of them all and it's the best classical game of all time ever to be released on the PS1 as well. Again, MGS1 rocks! The MGS series are so awesome. Whenever I want to go and play this game, it almost makes me so nostalgic about the old days when you needed a key card for almost every door in the game just like what Snake said in his one quote in MGS4 that one time. It was so awesome. Long live MGS! :)
Yeah. I know, insanecaribou. It seems like in the MGS series, Otacon gets very unlucky when it comes to women that he falls in love with because they end up dying on him. In MGS1 and MGS: The Twin Snakes, he fell in love with Sniper Wolf, but she died because Snake killed her in combat. Then in MGS2, he got romantically involved with his stepsister Emma, but she died too because Vamp killed her, and then finally in MGS4, Otacon then turns over to Naomi whereas she died because of suicide.
Yeah. I've heard that Otacon was lucky enough that he was able to do that too in MGS4. By the way, what do you mean exactly when you said that Otacon was able to tap Naomi before she snuffed herself? What exactly do you mean by that?
I meant that Otacon at least gets to (possibly) have sex with Naomi before she uses the Nanomachines on Shadow Moses to destroy the ones keeping her cancer in check effectively killing herself
Oh okay. Now I see what you're saying now, TehWarden555. I actually kinda knew a little bit too at first what you were going to mean as well. Well, thanks anyway for your answer though and if you really wanted to reply back to me, you could have just clicked Reply next to one of my comments and then reply to me that way. I'm just letting you know. By the way, I have one more question. In MGS4, what exactly was that thing that Naomi was wearing around her neck? I'm just wondering.
She was wearing a flash/zip drive that she used to contain Sunny and Emma's worm cluster that destroys GW and JD but leaves behind vital pieces to make sure society can go on.
Oh yes. I remember that now. Thanks for the info then, TehWarden555. I was just wondering at first because I noticed that there was something around Naomi's neck and I couldn't make out at first what it really was. So thanks again. I remember about the new worm cluster though that was created by Sunny in MGS4 because Otacon told Snake about it in the Act 5 mission briefing video scene. So now I know what it really is.
One reason why Sniper Wolf and Crying Wolf were linked together, 6070505, was that the boss battles took place in almost the same areas on Shadow Moses Island and after the boss battle with Crying Wolf in MGS4, she died in the same place where Sniper Wolf was killed in MGS1.
Every Boss/Enemy in the MGS saga, always ends with their life story being told before actually dying. And Snake always listen and comforts them to death! -_-"'
I've never realized Otacon loved Sniper Wolf, he always lose someone he loves in each MGS game.
LOL Wow. I didn't even know that happened for real in MGS4. Maybe I'll get to see a cutscene of it or something once I play MGS4 and once I get it soon too.
Hey TeamSphynx, you remember that thing that you told me about in MGS4 with Otacon and Naomi, right? Yes, I remember that part now. I have MGS4 now and I've seen that part already that you told me about. It was on the mission briefing video cutscene of Act 3. Now I know what happened then.
When I was playing MGS2 in the MGS series, it felt like I was almost going to shed a few tears for a moment at that scene where Emma died in the computer room.
When I was playing MGS2 in the MGS series, it felt like I was almost going to shed a few tears for a moment at that scene where Emma died in the computer room.
power only belongs in the hands of those who have never wanted it. thats the way i see it. the world at the moment is run by lying hypocrites who only want to look out for themselves.
This game is simply amazing. In my opinion, I think they should have ranked this game the best selling game ever for the PS1. It's simply the best in the PlayStation history along with the other MGS series.
Yeah. I figured that the OPM would do that because MGS1 is so popular and everything. However, I heard at Wikipedia right now that the best selling game for PS1 is Gran Turismo for right now. By the way, I kind of miss collecting the OPM issues with all of the demo discs in them and everything. Unfortunately, I don't think they're making anymore new issues of the OPM and that stinks.
Yeah. I know. I wish they would still continue making more issues and everything and selling more demo discs too. If they still had more new issues of OPM, most of their demo discs by now would be PS3 demo discs with PS3 demos contained on them and maybe they would still make more PS2 demo discs as well.
That seems cool. I guess you must live in Portugal, huh? I'm in the U.S. so I've been getting the U.S. PlayStation magazines a lot. I have issues 79, 95, 97, 98, 100, 102, and I think 104 all the way up to issue 112. Issue 112 was the last issue to be released in the U.S. and it was for January 2007.
Yes, I know. I wish they would still keep selling them though and if they did, then maybe I'd still be buying them by now. I still like the OPM magazines myself as well though.
Awesome video. I already have this video saved in my Favorites now.
Can anyone please tell me why this comment here has gotten rated negative a lot? There's not even nothing wrong with it and all I'm saying is that it's saved in my favorites too. I wish my comments would please stop getting rated negative because I don't like my comments rated negative and it really bothers me a little bit too. So I would like it if it would please stop.
maybe its rated negitive because you have said it on every single metal gear solid video about 20 times, you don't need to tell us that you have saved it in your favorites, perhaps you could just keep it to yourself
Also, another reason why I repost my comments is because I don't like my comments rated negative and the more they get rated negative, the more I would repost them. If only it would stop.
Hey barrett089, is there another reason why some of my comments here are getting rated negative even though they may not be posted over again? And also, how come no one listens when I ask everyone to please stop rating my comments negative?
I have a question that I was wondering about in case anyone would know. It was something on MGS1 that I found out. After you defeat Wolf in the Snowfield, Wolf mentioned a name called Saladin who was actually Big Boss. Does anyone know exactly where Big Boss got the name Saladin or how he got it or something? I've been curious about that and I never knew what it meant.
One of the best PS1 games ever of 1998 and it's still the best ten years later and still the best today. I've beaten this game many times already along with the remake and I've also beaten MGS2. My most favorite MGS games in the series are MGS1, MGS2, MGS2: Substance, and MGS: The Twin Snakes. The MGS: Essential Collection looks awesome too. Great video by the way too. I remember this part of MGS1 as well where I had to shoot down Liquid's Hind D and to defeat Wolf. Great MGS video again.
My question was already posted the first time. I only posted it again a second time, but to you because no one didn't answer my question from before so I wanted to see if you would respond back right away to it.
Oh. Well, I first posted that comment so that anyone who would have viewed this video would have responded to my question. No one was responding though and I didn't like waiting around. That was why I asked that question to you because I figured you would've responded back right away to it. I got tired of waiting a little bit. That's all.
This game is simply the best and it will always be the best for years to come. I have this game and it's so awesome. It's also backwards compatible on my PS2 and PS3 systems. I have both the original version of MGS1 along with the one in MGS: The Essential Collection. I only got that essential collection just to get MGS2: Substance though. I also have the remake which is MGS: The Twin Snakes for Nintendo GameCube. Best MGS games ever in the series and I've beaten them before too. So awesome.
Hey there. There was something else that I just thought of that just came up in my mind. From the MGS series, you know that character Ocelot or Revolver Ocelot, right? Well, I have a couple questions about him. The Ocelot that appeared in MGS3 was the very same Ocelot who appeared in the later MGS games, but as an older version, right? Also, how did Ocelot came up with that name General Ivan? I heard that Ocelot has that name, but I don't know where he got it from. I'm just wondering.
Okay then. Thanks for all the advice again. I kind of figured that the Ocelot from MGS3 was the very same Ocelot in the other MGS games too. That's too bad that you don't know where Ocelot got that General Ivan name either. I was wondering about that because I knew that it was mentioned once about Ocelot in MGS1 and again in MGS2, but the thing is that I don't know where it came from or how he got that name. Hopefully, maybe I'll find out all the answers that solves everything once I get MGS4.
Oh okay. I might get it know. Thanks for the advice. Listen, I need to ask you something personal, but I'm going to ask you in a message. I'm not going to ask my question to you here.

The Best is Yet to Come song was utilized perfectly in this game
...too bad the twin snakes lacked it but the game's still enjoyable in its own way.

This is the best game ever to be made, with the most captivating storyline ever.
This game is just.... is Metal Gear Solid and that's enough!

Know what would make it even MORE captivating? If Snake and Otacon kissed at 1:30. XD

how is she and Crying Wolf connected?
6070505 2 years ago
One reason why Sniper Wolf and Crying Wolf were linked together, 6070505, was that the boss battles took place in almost the same areas on Shadow Moses Island and after the boss battle with Crying Wolf in MGS4, she died in the same place where Sniper Wolf was killed in MGS1.

Every Boss/Enemy in the MGS saga, always ends with their life story being told before actually dying. And Snake always listen and comforts them to death! -_-"'
I've never realized Otacon loved Sniper Wolf, he always lose someone he loves in each MGS game.
MGS2 = Emma (Otacon's sis)
MGS4 = Naomi (Otacon's ONS) One Night Stand
stona80 3 years ago
Did Otacon really had a crush on Naomi in MGS4? I know that he knew Naomi from MGS1, but he probably wasn't too interested in her back then.
KenMeister1357 3 years ago
yer in MGS4 he has sex with her in his van thing or somin like that.
TeamSphynx 3 years ago

This game is simply amazing. In my opinion, I think they should have ranked this game the best selling game ever for the PS1. It's simply the best in the PlayStation history along with the other MGS series.
KenMeister1357 3 years ago 2
The Official PlayStation Magazine stated 'metal Gear Solid' as PSOne's number one game.
filipeflower 3 years ago
KenMeister1357 3 years ago
Yeah, that does stink.
filipeflower 3 years ago
Yeah. I know. I wish they would still continue making more issues and everything and selling more demo discs too. If they still had more new issues of OPM, most of their demo discs by now would be PS3 demo discs with PS3 demos contained on them and maybe they would still make more PS2 demo discs as well.
KenMeister1357 3 years ago
I bought the Portuguese PlayStation magazines until issue 102. Issue 106 was the last issue ever released for Portugal.
filipeflower 3 years ago
That seems cool. I guess you must live in Portugal, huh? I'm in the U.S. so I've been getting the U.S. PlayStation magazines a lot. I have issues 79, 95, 97, 98, 100, 102, and I think 104 all the way up to issue 112. Issue 112 was the last issue to be released in the U.S. and it was for January 2007.
KenMeister1357 3 years ago
I don't buy those magazines anymore, because they don't sell them anymore. I'm not even sure if it's still worth buying.
filipeflower 3 years ago
Yes, I know. I wish they would still keep selling them though and if they did, then maybe I'd still be buying them by now. I still like the OPM magazines myself as well though.

KenMeister1357 3 years ago 3
maybe its rated negitive because you have said it on every single metal gear solid video about 20 times, you don't need to tell us that you have saved it in your favorites, perhaps you could just keep it to yourself
barrett089 3 years ago
Well sorry about that and I wish the negative comments would stop too because just to myself, I don't like that.
KenMeister1357 3 years ago 2
Also, another reason why I repost my comments is because I don't like my comments rated negative and the more they get rated negative, the more I would repost them. If only it would stop.

By the way, were you the one who rated a few of my comments negative? If so, please stop and please don't do it again.
KenMeister1357 3 years ago
Hey barrett089, is there another reason why some of my comments here are getting rated negative even though they may not be posted over again? And also, how come no one listens when I ask everyone to please stop rating my comments negative?

I have a question that I was wondering about in case anyone would know. It was something on MGS1 that I found out. After you defeat Wolf in the Snowfield, Wolf mentioned a name called Saladin who was actually Big Boss. Does anyone know exactly where Big Boss got the name Saladin or how he got it or something? I've been curious about that and I never knew what it meant.
KenMeister1357 3 years ago
I already answered that question.

KenMeister1357 3 years ago
Are you going to copy and paste these two comments over and over again?
filipeflower 3 years ago
My question was already posted the first time. I only posted it again a second time, but to you because no one didn't answer my question from before so I wanted to see if you would respond back right away to it.
KenMeister1357 3 years ago
That sounds complicated.
filipeflower 3 years ago
Oh. Well, I first posted that comment so that anyone who would have viewed this video would have responded to my question. No one was responding though and I didn't like waiting around. That was why I asked that question to you because I figured you would've responded back right away to it. I got tired of waiting a little bit. That's all.
KenMeister1357 3 years ago

KenMeister1357 3 years ago
1-) Yes, that's the same Ocelot.
2-) I don't know how did he adquired that "General Ivan" name.
filipeflower 3 years ago
KenMeister1357 3 years ago 2
Russian military officer... that's why he's general Ivan?
I think it's mentioned in passing in one of them that Russia is his 'mother country'...
