  • love the sound of those turbine engins roaring thanks for no music

  • i want one!!! :O

  • Where can i get one?!

  • AMAZING PILOT

  • Dear Santa

  • @Megalodon64 can you please come up with something new to say please?

  • @eb62224 Dear Santa, Ive been a good boy this year. anything else?

  • @Megalodon64 Hit puberty and we'll talk.

  • @cheezoncrack STFU

  • @Megalodon64 Can see you don't have much of a response. Shows that you don't have hairs on your balls.

  • Yes!!! The engines are the sweetest music of all! I can't stand the RC videos that have music. I will NEVER share them with friends. It just ruins them.

  • dude you realy need to put a live feed first person view on this shit you mine as well you probably got a couple grand in this plane

  • That's better!

  • muy bueno los disfrute mucho gran vuelo!!!

  • best rc plane in the world made ';:...:;' i want one

  • Sadly... this just went down over Iran. They've been showing off on their national TV...

  • did you know, that in the real sr71 after a flight you cannot touch the hull of the plane because it is extremely hot?

  • @96MrMaarten really ??? should be like super cold 'cause the super speed ??

  • @siphonicdanox well the cold is not enough to cool down the plane enough to a normal temperature, and the heat is caused by the air friction (air passing by extremely fast)

  • to me, theres only one word that can sum this up.............dayum O_O

  • wtf... real sound...

  • please install camera into it 'n dont forget to share the vid :-)

  • fucking hell, the BEST i have ever seen,FAB

  • how is it his original can go the same speed as a full size one that has engines that turn into SCRAM jet motors at speed? not saying it's not quick, but 2.2k mph is the flight speed record...

even so, this thing is insane

  • @shimrra I would imagine it's "scale" speed, more like 220 mph actual speed. This model can't go 2200 mph. Which is the flight speed record they talk about for the actual Blackbird. It's real speed levels is still classified, but it is well beyond 2200.

  • truly freeking awesome, thank you for posting this

  • Great build. Only problem I see is that the Blackbird is not supposed to have white NASA stripes on its tail fins.

  • @Midnight2534 Actually NASA owns a blackbird that they use for testing.

  • @Midnight2534 NASA currently operates one of the remaining SR-71's as a research platform. Just as they operate a number of U-2's for the same reason. The CIA operates the remaining Five as they did in the beginning of this aircraft's career.. The older birds are in museums. But, suffer no illusions, If needed, most can be quickly put back into service.

  • @GunBroker100 Ah ok. I thought it was just a mess up in the painting. Didn't know the Blackbirds were still in service.

  • what's this thing's top speed?

  • How much did that cost?

  • Dude, where do I get one of these?

  • how much is it..

  • Is it possible to make the range many miles longer by attaching a camera to the front and connecting it to a computer? because I want to fly it through the streets of my city, yeh know, hopefully not having it shot down by the air force

  • The red turbine are real or just a some light?

  • o_o WOW! I want this!

  • Do a barrel roll! LOL

  • can people buy this things?

  • Best

    Toy

    Ever!

  • Always way better with no music... Thanks.

  • Looks and sounds fantastic.

  • nice english O.o

  • What kind of flight time can you get out of her? She's AMAZING btw. :)

  • i am a really poor man,,, THAT IS A TOY

  • That is a great fucking model.

Very funny comments below had me in tears.

Can i suggest music - Blackbird by The Wurzels??

  • yes and then some retard sees it thinks its a UFO and posts a stupid video on youtube about it -_-

  • From the video, I'm guessing that you don't need much runway to get airborne. Thanks for the music free video. For the video with music, you should have used a song from The Beatles (you've heard of them, right?) White Album called "Blackbird".

    Chorus from the song:

    Blackbird fly

    Blackbird fly

Into the light of the dark black night

  • @tripleJ1955 Nobody clicks these rc turbine videos to hear some dumb ass song over the turbine sound.

  • thanks for not adding shitty music to your video.

  • Thanks for the musicless video.

  • @Anontalkwarrior the sound of the engines is music to my ears

  • whats the max speed of this blackbird (not the real one)?

  • @xxxsolonly is this a one-off that you've made, or is there a kit available somewhere? Very interested in building this as a project

  • Not real after burners they are lights ,o yea! that thing does blend and liquidise ,even peel carrots and potatoes .LOL SUPERB MODEL.

  • if they were just leds then wouldnt they get burnt to a crisp? i mean this thing obviously has no other means of propulsion than model jet engines ,or turbine engines, not sre if there is a difference, but im sure either one of those would melt the shit out of leds in the place they would need to be mounted, i even think they have model scram jet or ram jet engines too now

  • damnet! now they can seee me when im playing hid - n - seek!

  • xxxsolonly hey man are u a scientist or something, how much money did u spend on this..15,000$? I mean...this is just like a aircraft just little..and aircrafts are millions

  • You must be a professional at this, I'm pretty sure it would take me a week to learn how to make that thing take off.

  • do they sell it?i really want one

  • i think this is the best plane ever made

  • @offroadrc dude it is the best plane ever made!!!

  • Thank you for reposting your video without the music. Listening to these engines is the ONLY soundtrack that is required!

What are the possibilities of fitting a smaller blue ring of LEDs just inside the ring or red to give a more "authentic" afterburner signature? Or does the SR71 just fire red? I dunno!

Either way - GREAT aircraft and well flown.

  • fly it in russia it would scare the crap out of them

  • WTF i thought its just a model but it flys damn!!!!!!!

  • Imagine you fly this SR71 at night..

  • @carcy007 Oh I knew that about the original the real SR-71, But I don't just about RC's ha lol not a crude comment ok, just saying

  • Amazing! I'm suprised you haven't been bothered by anyone for flying it. My friends and I used to fly 1/4 and 1/3 scale gas & glow planes and we finally got kicked-out by the people in the nearby community because the noise and the aerobatics scared them. I have never flown R/C jets but I love the aerobatic scale airplanes.

Anyways GREAT POST and happy flying!

  • guy 1:hey nice black bird

    guy 2:what s burning?

guy 1:oh thats my pants WAIT MY PANTS??????

  • I got some questions, Does this model do more than 2200 mph? If so Can't that break the sound barrier?

  • @MetalMachine346 I think he meant that the real original SR-71 Blackbird could do over 2200 miles an hour. The SR-71 had a top speed of mach 3.5, which is 3 and a half times the speed of sound. There is no way that the turbines on this RC model could generate enough thrust to allow it to reach anywhere near 2200 mph.

  • Sorry Sharon but this awesome sounding SR71 does better without you ;)

  • Comment removed

  • Spectacular! What an amazing country that could design and build a suborbital stealth bullet like this in the 1950s.

  • That is just flat awesome. ☺

  • FOX,DO A BARREL ROLL (^)

  • Love the sound.

  • Why the fuck does it sound so awesome???!!! Is this the model from banana hobby??

  • ever flown into one of those cables?

  • Comment removed

  • yes!!!!now amazing

  • Nice flight! Nice aircraft!

  • Which Muppet press the dislike button???

  • I WANT ONE OF THOSE!!! :(

  • That RC has retractable landing gear, too! AWESOME!

  • i would like to have a plane like that but i would probably break it when i try to land

  • It should work with afterburners on such a small model engine too, no? Maybe you wouldn't get much extra thrust, but it would look cool. It looked cool with those LEDs too, by the way:)

  • sexy

  • does it leak jet fuel like the original sr-71.

  • @erichblas2011 Tumbs up FUNNY !

  • how do afterburners work ?

  • @laxinitup62 is a led sistem conected wit thoattle tha make the led brite wen you move the stik

  • @xxxsolonly lol, i mean in real life, real afterburners

  • @laxinitup62 work by compressing atmospheric air gathered through the air intake of the engine and using it to create a combustible mix along with the fuel, which is then lit. The rapid expansion of the combustible mix generates thrust and power for the turbine at the same time, which in turn drives the compressor.

  • @laxinitup62 A modern turbine engine is extremely efficient, and there is still a lot of oxygen available in the exhaust stream. The idea behind an afterburner is to inject fuel directly into the exhaust stream and burn it using this remaining oxygen. This heats and expands the exhaust gases further, and can increase the thrust of a jet engine by 50% or more.

  • @xxxsolonly Reason why there is lots of oxygen is because most of the jet engines nowadays uses turbofan instead of turbojet, turbofan have a bypass air that bypasses the core of the engine and including the air inside of the core which is only about 25% of it used for actual combustion while the remaining 75% is used for engine cooling, so plenty of oxygen to burn, they simply put a fuel manifold and flame holder after the last turbine stage to make use of this oxygen and create more thrust

  • @laxinitup62 Actually, what xxxsolony described is the operation of a jet engine. Afterburners are an added feature on most supersonic military jets to allow extra thrust at the cost of an extremely inefficient fuel consumption rate. The principle is basic; since a jet engine's power is limited by the ammount of heat the compressor turbines can take. Therefore, by injecting fuel after the turbines, it increases the pressure and velocity of the mixture. = more power for the jets :)

  • @laxinitup62 exactly the same way on real afterburner

  • what's the top speed?

  • I would be afraid of sneezing and look back up to see my plane has flown away

  • I gotta pick my jaw up off the floor. Unreal.

  • does it take fuel or batterys? if so what kind of batterys or what kind of fuel?

  • I am confused. Turbines or RDF with afterburner LED effect?

    Either way, great plane!

  • this is AWESOME!!!!!!! It looks like it's the real thing!!! This gave me spine chills, thanks for ze vid, man!

  • Sir I salute you , one word STUNNING !!

  • are these able to stall and loose control 2 ??

  • Are those just lights for special effect or does that thing have after burners?

  • @Nintendo101maniac is jost LED (LIGHT) no real afterburner

  • @xxxsolonly

Is it possilble to create REAL afterburners in a model?

  • @brightlights456X = yes , they have em in europe but the american ama will not cover you if you use them in the u.s.a.

  • @kunningan

What do you mean? Do you need a licence/insurance to fly these planes?

  • @brightlights456X INSURANCE =YES. you have to be a member of the AMA (AMA - Academy of Model Aeronautics) to fly at club flying fields and air shows. if you had your own space for an airstrip then no but you would be flying alone and not showin off your cool toy. part of being an AMA member is that you have 1mill in liability coverage in case your model crashes and does property / bodily damage. this twin engine jet powered plane could really do some damage if it malfunctioned.

  • @kunningan

I just checked out their site. Around since the 1930's. They're not f**king about are they???

  • @brightlights456X yeah they have been around for quite awhile and thats good . they are our main advocate for our hobby and now our hobby is threatened with a bunch of restrictions and hassle due to the terrorist who wanted to load a r/c jet with explosives . im really sick of extremists causing hassle for us regular folks.

  • @kunningan

Yeah, I heard about 'possible' attacks via RC planes aswell. I just feel too many people are paranoid and try to introuduce and therefore, enforce law abiders from.....living.

  • omg?3500km/ph?omg omg omg thats kinda real plane highspeed

  • 2200mph is ?how many kmh?

  • @thepro907 About 3500 Km/ph. Keeping in mind the original could only reach those speeds at 80,000 feet, where the air is much, much thinner.

  • @thepro907 Easy way to calculate is divide it by 2 and then add the number to your original number so. 2200/2=1100 so around 3300

  • @loladinn12 ic ic thanks , thats really fast @.@

  • did u make it!!!

  • DUDE this is so beast i want one now

  • You couldn't have chosen a better aircraft (except maybe the Avro Vulcan) to have modelled, you should be proud.

Oh, and thanks for making this no BGM version, highly appreciated.

  • This is one of the best rc movies I have seen. Looks and sounds like the real deal.

  • Those turbines sound sweet. Nice retracts, great looking jet! I bet that grass helps to slow that puppy down when landing.

  • pure delight thanks

  • That must be the hardest rc jet to fly

  • wohoo got that 7 kill streak time for the black bird.....a few kills later yeah got my gunship on nuke town even yeah noooo the game just ended i didnt have time to deploy my gun ship nooo

  • where can u get 1 of these and how much do they cost... how can i learn to fly them too??

  • @bruceleeking1 I donot think thes are on the market yet they are scrachbuild the cost maybe $15,000 to $20,000 - the cheap wey to practice is on a simulator like realflight or so, the electric ones are on the market for about $300 if you loos one dos is not tha bad for you poket,- google it sr71 edf you well faund . hope help thank

  • @xxxsolonly $15,000 - $20,000?!?!?!?! you sir are a very dedicated hobbyist hahaha

  • @xxxsolonly the cost is gonna be abt $20,000-$40,000, sims are a great way to lear... ive been flying for the past 5 years. after you get the hang of the sim you need to get ama insurance (ama.com) and join a club, bet certified by a trainer... after that get yourself an edf jet, they are fast and alot cheaper... then if you have the money there are kits for various jets out there but most are going to have to be built from scratch and take an ass load of time to make

  • @bruceleeking1 take the $200 and buy realflight

  • Nice landing!!!

  • A*W*E*S*O*M*E

  • how long does the fuel last?

    weeeeeeeeerry nice plane.

i have to get one 4 santa ,or who ewer is willing to give it to mee.

  • mini prat jet engines awsooome takofff

  • awsum without tunes...I heard that at speed,(the full size model) it gets so hot that it would actually stretch several feet in length

  • @Soundrexor Google SR-71 and go to the Wikipedia listing you will find all of the information you could want here!

  • Really, one of the best RC models I've seen on YouTube. You should be very proud of it and thanks for dumping the music, sweet engine sounds

  • the blackbird re-live! great video.

  • i like the red glow from the turbines

  • Now that is an incredible MINIATURE AIRPLANE ! A huge investment and alot of work + good flying = a great show ! I'd love to hear the specifics - scratch built ? Jetcat power ? even the landing gear looks sale and hand - done !! I don't put music on mine, I love the sounds of it working !!

  • Favorite r/c airplane on the 'tube, hands down. If you could post another flight in HD, that would be so sweet. I agree with the others that the twin turbines are all the music needed. Any idea what her terminal velocity is? Happy recon!

  • Coolest rc bird ever!

  • Too freakin cool!

  • awsome and nice flaring on the landing

  • i like it very much

i want to have one too

  • Brilliant, and soooo much nicer without the background "music"

  • Excellent!

  • dude....that plane went from totally sweet to incredibly AWESOME without the music! thanks for reposting! you f'ing rule! lettin' them turbines do the talkin'... ;)

  • realy great, good plane, good sound..super super super.

  • fucking sexy

  • thats so cool awsome landing i love the sound of rc turbines

  • it sounds real!!

  • that is most deffinately the real sound. those are twr verry real jet engines inside of that thing.

  • nic emodel/ landing too

  • I don't think thats the real sound of that rc.

  • @AlexRamm20 why

  • @heberorozco That sounds like a real jet, well almost, but now that i researched about it, it seems like it is a true rc.

  • @AlexRamm20 i heard about a system that makes the jet sound like a real one too :)

  • WOOOOOOOOOW!!!!!! That is is one kick-ass RC model!!!! you must've paid an arm and a leg to buy that puppy!!! Thanks for posting this video....and.....very nice landing!

  • Incredible model and thanks for not adding a music sound track.

  • well done for everything, the model the flying and for the great landing too man....
