Bench press is by far my favorite exercise. I am currently just getting back into weight lifting after a several month break. I am only benching 225x10 right now though@180lbs. I am around 6'1 so my arms are pretty long. Any tips on increasing my bench?
@Fx4Ranger2002 Get your triceps strong by doing a lot of heavy close grip bench presses and skull crushers.Also do lots of military presses as well.Tricep strength is paramount in benching heavy weight!!
Was chest day was today and it went great, i had no wraps or anything, wasn't even at my own gym, got wrecked last night so it wasnt boding well, anyway, i hit an easy 200 for 8, so i then did 210 and got 8 reps out which smashes my PR by 5lbs :) So then i thought F*ck it and went for 225 and got out 5 solid reps after those 2 sets, take away the 210 set i coulda got 6,7 maybe even 8!!
I did Dumbells today, hit 90s for 8,6,7 over 3 sets, any tips for DB Pressing? Iv been told t go t 90 degrees, but i go deeper than that as that seems too shallow to me.
@JOELHATSWELL Thanks a lot Joel! I try to touch the dumbell on the side of my chest.For dumbells I really try to grip them tight and keep my arms and lats flexed.Just basically trying to keep everything tight and controlled.
Great job Mark. I always find those days when your body isn't feeling up to the REAL heavy weight, it's a good time to go back and clean up those rep PR's.

Yeah I've had it tough on my shoulders with work and all the last week.I'm probably more at 400 x 3 if I was feeling half way decent.That's also why I didn't bite off to much on the second set.I figured 325 would be comfortable and I technically haven't hit 325 x 10..even though fresh my 10 rep is more in the 340 range.
You don't have to explain yourself to me bro....I know this isn't your top-end of strength. Everyone goes up and down depending on what is going on in their lives....good workout.

The guys at our high school think they're big shit being able to press 325 X 1 and 225 X 10. They haven't seen your shit yet. As for me, I used to be close to your strength. What the hell happened? coulda done 325x12 i bet. nice job bro! last upper body workout at skool i hit 300x6 for two sets then did 320x5 (last one was assisted just a lil bit) then i hit 230x15 and i was done with the bench part of my workout. keep this hard work up tho mark! thumbs up!
