hi! now i know its been a while now since little Declan was born, but I have a general question about the american births i have seen on youtube and yours is the most recent one ive seen. i have noticed in a lot of birth videos there are sooo many people in the delivery room! are they all doctors or midwives? I live in Australia and there was only my husband and midwife in the room when my baby was born.. so the contrast is huge! honestly no judgement intended here! take care :)
@spottycardigan Thank you!! It really just depends on the hospital and the birth. When I had my first son, my MIL and hubby were with me, and one doctor and one nurse. When I had Declan though, they had a TON of extra nurses, and the Doctor, because Declan had the chord wrapped around his neck and they were just preparing for the worst. In case something went wrong, they all had their own tasks to do to take care of things. Some ppl do have midwives instead of nurses!
I never believe any of the youtube mommies when they said awesome labor and delivery, it didn;t hurt at all. you all mamas looked so at ease that at was like how could that be. BUT now i do all believe you cause when i had my son, it didn't hurt and i was so calm that my mom was like how are you doing it.

The pain was the same though, and both my epidurals worked, so I was numb when I pushed, both times. I wish I could offer you some advice, but I have no idea about when epidurals don't work! I would definitely suggest trying to get one again. All pregnancies are different! It may work this time?

@TheNandanebaby Hey! I had an epidural both times. So I was in NO pain when it was time to push. I was in pain having contractions and dilating, but once i got to 6cm, I got an epidural and was numb from the waist down. So I was able to 100% enjoy my labor and delivery!!

Congrats on your beautify family! You made labor look so easy! I am almost done with the first trimester but I am so nervous about all of the labor stuff. Does the epidural & catheter hurt at all?
@glitterngloss13 Aww thanks! Congrats!! The epidural didn't hurt much at all. Felt like a little bee sting! They numb you first, so you mainly just feel pressure. The catheter goes in AFTER you're already numb from the epidural, so you can't feel that one bit!

Hey, I must say u have a WONDERFUL family... Just wanted to know, is epidural a safe way to deliver a baby??? As I have heard its not that safe... Is the delivery completely painless??? I am going to have a baby in few months and by watching this video I think epidural is the best option for natural birth... Is it??? Did u have any problems after delivery???
@raheem2002able Aww thank you!! Yes, it's totally safe. Otherwise all the millions of people who get them, wouldn't get them lol! The way an epidural affects you, totally depends on the person. It's different for everyone. For me, i had ZERO pain after I got mine. i was pretty much numb from the waist down, but I could still feel pressure. I still knew when to push :o) I didn't have any negative side effects from the epidural and I had no problems. I didn't even need stitches!
@Loraandlayton you are so lucly. with me - epdıural made me numb fromt he waist down and ı dıdn't have paın for a long tıme untıl when ıt was tıme to push . but the weırd thıng was: ı dıdnt have any urge to push. ı just had contractıons but no pressure no urge. so ıt was weırd wıth me. I don't recommend epıdural for this reason. I thınk ıt ıs best to to do ıt naturally all the way. thıs ıs my opınıon. of course I respect yours.

@shunnymac09 I'm so glad it helped to calm you down a bit!! It really can be an awesome experience. It's not all scary and awful like ppl love to make it seem. You just have to go in with a positive attitude and do what women were made to do... give birth :o) Oh and epidurals are the shizz!

Hey, I must say u have a WONDERFUL family... Just wanted to know, is epidural a safe way to deliver a baby??? As I have heard its not that safe... Is the delivery completely painless??? I am going to have a baby in few months and by watching this video I think epidural is the best option for natural birth... Is it??? Did u have any problems after delivery???

@raheem2002able Aww thank you!! Yes, it's totally safe. Otherwise all the millions of people who get them, wouldn't get them lol! The way an epidural affects you, totally depends on the person. It's different for everyone. For me, i had ZERO pain after I got mine. i was pretty much numb from the waist down, but I could still feel pressure. I still knew when to push :o) I didn't have any negative side effects from the epidural and I had no problems. I didn't even need stitches!

@Loraandlayton you are so lucly. with me - epdıural made me numb fromt he waist down and ı dıdn't have paın for a long tıme untıl when ıt was tıme to push . but the weırd thıng was: ı dıdnt have any urge to push. ı just had contractıons but no pressure no urge. so ıt was weırd wıth me. I don't recommend epıdural for this reason. I thınk ıt ıs best to to do ıt naturally all the way. thıs ıs my opınıon. of course I respect yours.
