Awesome bike! I had a gizzer with a custom candied cherry red paint job with custom smoke windshield. It was a fast bike that was neck an neck with my buddies 2001 CBR 600. Which is pretty damn good for the age difference! Wheelied no problem and because of the year and it's under rating the insurance was cheap! It took a real man to pull this bike through the corners!

This brings back some real fast memories.I bought one of these with 2000 miles on

and it was a real bastard.This Bike did not like anybody taking liberties with it.The Tank slappers were fucking legend and very very frightening.I really thought I could ride a Bike until this took me to another level.Fucking utterly brilliant.I had a GPZ 750 Turbo before this and the Kwak was no slouch but the GSXR would fucking Tan it.

I have the same year bike, but had to replace the engine with a late model Katana 750 engine. It's amazing how little changed in that engine design over the years; makes it very easy to repower what is a very cool looking bike. IMO the older bikes look a lot better than the newer ones.

Pumping the throttle does not do anything on CV carbs like the ones that are on this bike. THere is no accelerator pump to 'pump' so twisting the throttle jus makes him look dumb. They have a choke, use it.

A beautiful bike! An original GSXR like yours is so rare to see now. I still have one too (USA spec 1987) and it's a great bike. Good luck with yours!

@calfan3 My dad got one of theese, to say they run like a beast would be a understatment, What would be more correct would be to say "RELEASE THE KRAKEN" Every time you start it.
