I thought he was a good player. Just had injuries similar to Kijana Carter. I think injuries need to be taken into account when talking about busts. Leave the bust title to the ones who were healthy but had no heart like Jamarcus and Ryan Leaf.
I don't like calling guys who get injured busts. that puts them in the same class as guys like Ryan Leaf and Jamarcus Russell who got there not because of their bodies failing them but because they didn't work hard.
I am not saying Bo could not have run through him. I actually would have liked to see a straight up hit to see what happened. However he did not get run over. The play was at an angle. As for being a bust - he was very good his first year out and injuries hurt him a lot. No bust here
Countless bust in the nfl-boz played his heart out everyday every way-signed countless autographs unlike the money hungry arrogant players today- playing 2 people he was a bust playing with heart and soul football he wa s great!
He made 11 million playing plus his endorsements and you call him a bust? The NFL is an entertainment business, sounds like to me he was a huge success.
he is not a bust people are just trying to still use him for marketing. they should get off his nuts. He was a beast and gave seahawks attention when they needed it most.
Well then can we say Bo Jackson is considered a bust after screwing up his hip? Did his career not end prematurely as well? He was a great player when healthy but why do we not consider him a bust since he ended his career early due to a hip injury? I still don't see the justification of labelling one a "bust" when they did play and were forced to retire due to injury. Ryan Leaf took the money and ran and is a total moron! So is Jamarcus!
BOZ was a bust in the sense that he didn't last BUT that was due to injuries. He could ball! That Bo "highlight" was not that big of a play. Bo was great but those who played football understand.
my dad is not a bust he's better than BO Jackson he was on the 1 yard line i could do that by juking my dad and he's now by 2010 had 28 surgeries so shut up
@rafers1991 if by your dad you mean the boz, then you're an idiot to say he was better than bo. bo would be arguably the greatest running back ever if he didn't have a baseball career and that's saying something seeing as how short he played football.
They try to justify Boz and they show a few clips of him making good hits or tackles. He was a huge bust. Why? He signed a 11 milion dollar contract. The Seachickens had to pay him every penny. This guy was all hype, all mouth. We loved to hate him and made fun of guys in school who had a "boz haircut". He tested positive for steroids at OU. Why do Teams in Football & Basketball sign big contracts before the player is proven? That is total foolishness.
1987 Bosworth had size, speed, strength, & smarts. He showed excellent feet & a great burst. He could canvas the field, take good angles, was hard to cut off on outside plays & could cover. He could stuff the one-on-one block & was a punishing tackler. But he tended to overrate his strength and tried to overrun everyone. Blockers were considerably bigger in the NFL than they were at Kansas State. Is that what happened to his left shoulder? I do know he should have been an outside LB, not inside
@TheGeorgecostanza he had one good season and played 24 games in 3 seasons, that's not good. injuries are apart of a game, you can't be serious with that question. he was guaranteed 11 million dollars and played in 24 games his whole career... injury busts are busts nonetheless, like steve emtman, ki-jana carter and many others. your talent doesn't matter when you're not playing the game.
I looked up the incident because you are right about the one play approach.
However, what made that play memorable was because Boz had guaranteed the Seahawks would contain Bo Jackson during that game. Bo ran for 221 yards and 3 tds.
Him pounding through Boz on the goal line was just the icing on the cake. I guess they didn't have time to include it in the clip, but that's why Boz was remembered that way. He made a Joe Namath 'guarantee' and he failed.
@murat8080 falling underneath someone after getting trucked is not a tackle idiot. that counts as someone getting run over, lol at the two people that gave you a thumbs up. probably bosworth groupies that dont know shit about football and form tackling.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
His tombstone should read: Brian Bosworth's life is a modern day Aesop's fable. Bo Jackson ran over Brian Bosworth on Monday night football, and justice ensued. Bosworth will forever be remembered as a failure in the NFL, Hollywood, and Life; hence his failure to stay of drugs at OU, his enshrinement in the "Biggest Flops of the Last 25 Years", his failure of an acting career, his failure to keep his marriage in-tact, and his failure to keep of the road when under the influence of alcohol.R.I.P.
The steroids at OU were administered by an MD. It was later determined that he had done nothing wrong and should have been allowed to play in the Orange Bowl. I'll bet that you would say none of these things to him. He would not fail at kicking your ass.
You must be new to following football, so let me help explain it to you. If Boz fails to stop Bo as the ball crosses the goal line, it is a touchdown. Tackling someone as they are scoring is not a statistical category, it's just a FAILED attempt. Learn how the game works, Retard.
The only two time Butkus winner. Bosworth was the greatest college linebacker ever, and don't think he wouldn't have had a very productive career in the pros had it not been for injuries. He was finished before he even got started which is sad becuz for all the hype, all the glamour, all the character...."The Boz" could still play some fuckin football, everybody knows that. He used to fuck teams like Texas and Nebraska up so bad. God he was a mean player.
Its such a joke to label Boz a bust! The highlights speak for themselves. So he was an asshole, so what? He was a ROOKIE that go thrown into one of the hardest positions on the field and he did really well. He's on the "bust list" simply because he was a cocksucker to everyone OFF the field and they wanted to see him fail.
So if allllllllllll this is true, why is he still listed on all the NFL Busts lists? Do the Seattle fans who embraced him agree or disagree? What about his coaches and teammates? The players and coaches who played against him? Why has nobody asked the people who would really know?
It's not only completely inaccurate, but flat out unfair to label Brian Bosworth as a bust!!!!
He had great speed, power, athleticism and made lots of tackles and plays for Seattle. He worked hard, played hurt and was a tough player. Unfortunately, his career was cut short by accumulative injuries. Check out some of his game tapes by rbg631. Thanks for the bosworth game footage and for helping dispell the myth of bosworth being a bust.
Totally bogus as the #3bust...he was a decent player and put up some respectable numbers, especially when considering his injury troubles (like that was his fault...probably the only reason he didn't last). He didn't produce as expected for the hype surrounding hime, but what he did was by no means a bust. Too much garbage from reporters and football people who didn't like him as a person, rather than an objective look at his shortened career
- A good NFL LB, but 25 surgeries will end anyone's career.
- A consistent All-Pro player if he had stayed healthy.
- But he was his own worst enemy. Too much trash-talking + steriods.
- The Bo Jackson highlight: What a joke! That was a 1 yard run. True it was a TD, but no one coming off a block can stop a 235lb TB who runs a 4.2 40 and is at full speed for NO GAIN! People who think this is a highlight have never played football.
I agree. Not to mention Bo did not truck him, Bo picked a shoulder. If he would have ran him over he would have went through his whole body not one side of it.. Shit if it was not at the goaline it would have been a 2 yard game. people just wanna hate on THE BOZ. The hell with them ... SOONER DDDDDDDDDDDD
@madjohne My man i agree 100% with you about bozworth,he was shedding a block then tried to tackle bo at the 1yd line. bo was comming at him with speed and levridge and boz was shedding a block and was flat footed. Any one was getting pushed back and to boot Bo was a hell of a rb,he wasnt no sloutch him self.ppl dont know what ther talking about.
@angelostallone that wasn't the point. that play was most popular in his career because he said he was going to contain bo but bo rand for like 221 yards and 3 td's and that video pretty much was the end of his career as everything went downhill from there. the play wasn't that great but for the people who lived through it and saw it live, they know it meant a LOT. to us, seeing it years after it happened, it doesn't seem to have any significance because it's a new generation.
I couldn't agree more. Played RB all my life through college and couldn't for the life of me figure why the play is THAT big of a deal. If anything, the embarassing play was the one when Bo burned Boz down the sideline for a super long TD run. But then again, NO LB in the league could have caught him from that angle.
I guess haters will always need something to cheer themselves up with.
boz was a pretty decent linebacker if you look at the stats. his career was ruined by injury. and the bo jackson thing , ive seen ray lewis get ran over it happens.
People like Ray Lewis, everyone hated Boz. So that makes a difference in court of public opinion. People forgot that EVERY middle linebacker has gotten ran over hard at some point in their career. Boz was an asshole that everyone loved to hate, so when Bo scored on him (NOT ran him over), the idiots and faggot sportswriters jumped all over that.
I agree. Bo Jackson just got lower because he was quicker than Brian Bosworth and this made it difficult for Bosworth to tackle him. This kind of stuff happens in every game. I dont understand the "Oh, Bo Jackson ran over him" line. I dont care if youre 320 lb Albert Haynesworth if youre not in the right position to make the tackle you usually wont.
In 1984, Boz was a good player leading OU in tackles. In 1985, Boz was a great player winning his first Butkus Award and leading OU in tackles. In 1986, Boz was the Biggest Star in College Football winning his 2nd Butkus Award and again leading OU in tackles. He was the most hyped college football player ever. In 1987, he was the biggest story coming into the NFL that's why he is considered by some to be such a 'Bust'. Even though he had a good rookie season, and then he got hurt.
He had one great game, and a decent (thought short) career otherwise. He had one bad play that has labeled him a bust forever. Even the biggest, most bad assed guys will get beat one in their life.
Brian Bozworth is not a bust to me. He's not. I don't understand how the Top 10 didn't really give much weight to the FACT that his career was cut short by injuries. They based their entire segment on his off-field antics, he was just having fun.
Brian Bozworth and Bo Jackson, that just sucks, it's obvious that momentum carried Bo into the endzone, and people make it seem like he was run over!
Bozworth was a good player. He is definately NOT a bust.
No. but unlike you were just not ignorant and giving false labels to a guy who's career was cut short by injuries. calling him a bust is just ignorant dude. he was plenty good in his first 2 years. the 3rd year was when his injuries just started to catch up with him.
reggie bush is still playing so time will tell how he finishes his career. boz was on his way to a good maybe great NFL career but we will never know. so please quit talking about the steroids, it's just like the Bo Jackson play, blown way out of poportion. Boz used steroids to rehab an injury, the steroids he used wasn't for perfomance, it was to heal his inuries faster.
HIs body failed him? Duh, that's what happens when you steroid your body up loser! Your body gave out because it did'nt have the drugs to pump it up and hold it together in the NFL..the guy was kicked off the Sooners for popping on Roids...I don't get how people respected him AT ALL.
Thanks for Uploading this. Brian Bosworth is my Idol. It's too sad that the most People calling him a Bust, arrogant or condemned him because of steroid use. The Arrogant was a part of "The Boz" but not of Brian Bosworth. I think most People hate him because he is a Person who is real, who have his own opinion and to speak his mind. For me Brian Bosworth was a great Linebacker and a real Person!
WTF? People dislike the guy because he had to CHEAT to succeed in college and once kicked of his Oklahoma team, the Seahawks took his cheating ass and he was the biggest bust in pro football which is KARMA. No offense if you like the guy, but cheaters never prosper...and he's a loser in my book. He was by far NOT a great linebacker (as you can see by his NFL stats) and he would have been NOTHING in college without steroids.
dude most athletes have used stereoids at some point. hell bill romanowski for one. linebackers are supposed ot be crazy fuckin asshle pricks that will beat your face in. but seriously dude. he didnt cheat he just did what everyone else did in colledge
Don't say most because that insinuates more than half and more than half do not. It doesn't matter how many do...it is still wrong regardless. It is cheating regardless and if they all did it, they all would have popped on the test...they didnt', he did and was kicked out for it for a reason..so no, not everybody does, sorry. He's fucking cheater and so was Bill Romanowski...no matter what they did in "college" (not colledge - I'm guessing you do not go to one).
That's a stupid comment. Not most at all. Fucking cheaters should be BANNED and we wouldn't have to worry about it. But if that's your hero than that's your fault...what does it say about you?
And TONS did not...it wasn't even a higher majority that did either and it doesn't take away from the fack he was a druggy and a roid freak. He'd not be NEAR the player he was in college if not for roids, period. No argument you can make will defend that.
no disrespect dongenarosdog but you're off on some of your comments.first, boz never played cincinnati so wyche would've not made those comments. boz would have played them in the 88 playoff game but was done for the year.but seattle could've used him as the bengals ran all over them.remember boz was leading the team in tackles until he went down. also in 87he was 2nd in tackles so please don't say he could not tackle.boz was hurt 4 games into the 88 season yet he still played 6 more games.
rbg631, don't even bother waste your time responding to such ridiculous comments. Look at his stats in the short time he was there. Second on the team in tackles, 4 QB sacks. Which is alot, especially for an inside backer. To say he can't tackle is so idiotic. Just look at the highlights. He knocked the Chiefs QB out cold. he causes a fumble by blasting the guy, then takes it almost to the endzone. He blocked kicks. All of this with two banged up shoulders!!
That's funny you say this because I get to the end and you say "all of this with two banged up shoulders"....which were caused by HIS drug use...he wouldn't have gotten to where he was without it, so why is this even an argument? This is the same reason prolific HR hitters are being shunned from the HOF in baseball.
No disrespect back at ya, rbg631. I thought it was Wyche, I know I read it in the Seattle Times. But I watched every one of those games, and his play was unimpressive, to say the least. Like I wrote, he used his speed to bowl over the ball-carrier. Yes, he'd be the first person to the ball, but he needed help to bring 'em down. For each one of his tackles, he let another go by. I can't recall a _single game_ where he made the difference between victory & defeat.
The rest of the country followed suit. Although Seattle made the playoffs (they were still a very talented team), the Boz contributed very little. Chuck Knox gave 'em every chance, tho-- fans were calling to bench him. He was terrible & he COULD NOT tackle. The fans started calling him "Flipper" because he'd just wave his arms around & not do anything w/ 'em.
I like the one guy on this clip who speaks up for Boz: Matt Millen! The guy in football w/ the worst record in assessing talent! lol...
You know, the failure of Boz's career isn't something I made up, it isn't a "conspiracy of the media," it's simply a proven fact. No matter how great he was in college, he couldn't play at the NFL level, because of his arthritic shoulders (brought on by steriod use.)
1) This proves you don't know what you're talking about.
2) He should of been first. And he never once was the difference in a game, unlike LT, a real LB.
1)yes i do know what im talking about. and it kind of IS a conspiracy of the media because they didn't like his arrogant attitude and they were just looking for a reason to call him out
2)no Ryan Leaf is the biggest bust and NOBODY can argue that. and yea everyone knows LT was a great LB. but this isn't about who we think the best was, its about the fact that The Boz wasnt a flop
3)Hawks fans LOVED him and you'd be nuts to think otherwise
O_o I never said he didn't have talent. He had lots of it. He used too many 'roids, it gave him advanced arthritis in his shoulders, his career didn't last two years. End of story. He wasn't even the biggest bust for the Seahawks (that title goes to McGwire). And where are you from, Kent? The Hawks fans I know & hang around love a winner. Boz was not a winner. The '87 team had Largent, Jacob Green, John L, why carry a torch for Boz?
DonGenarosDog, a guy that made 163 tackles in just 22 games can't tackle?! Your a MORON!! No difference maker? How about AFC player of the week after recovering two fumbles, one in which he returned 38 yards for 34-21 victory over Chicago!! Not a winner?? Show me where he ever dogged it on the field. LT, yeah he's a winner. He played his entire career on crack cocaine, with a bunch of arrests, shouldn't have even been allowed in the Hall. Meanwhile, Boz saves somebody's life. Your a troll!!
The number of tackles never defined how good someone was/is. In fact, if someone is making a bunch of tackles, look at that team...you'll see their D-fense is on the field a lot meaning they suck...and yes, i'm speaking of the Seahawks at that time. To ME, all roid users are losers, but to see him get kicked off his college team and the NFL welcome him with open arms after it was MENACING...I'm glad to see his career cut short and wish he had to pay back the unearned money.
ROFL...clearly YOU my friend are clueless about football AND logic....which should tell you that if a team is making so many more tackles than another team...their DEFENSE IS ON THE FIELD MORE meaning the other team is scoring on them. Go actually research instead of being an idiot and come back and tell me why the lower end teams lead the league in tackles. Off with you until you know something.
I'll show you right now how "smart" you are nimrod...the Detroit Lions lead the NFL in tackles this year...hmmmm...great team huh? They'll be picking FIRST in the draft. So that makes them good according to you right? DUMBASS. Stop being a roid lover.
Rowdyrobb06, I have to disagree with you on one thing. How about Reggie Bush as the biggest bust!! Here's a guy who came out of college as the greatest football player EVER!! EVER!! What has he done in the pro's?? But you won't hear anything in the media because it's politically incorrect to attack someone like Bush, but it's safe to go after someone like Boz. Look at those highlights, every announcer praises Boz and compliment on his skills on the field. You never hear he is a disappointment.
Yea i totally agree that Reggie Bush is a HUGE bust! and you're totally right, he hasnt done shit. but if you remember all the hype that came with Ryan Leaf he was supposed to be the next Joe Montana or Terry Bradshaw. He was the No.1 overall pick in that draft and he lasted only about 3 years in the league lol. but yea i would put Reggie Bush as no.2. but that whole draft class sucked. in the top 10 you have Reggie Bush, Vince Young, and Matt Leinhart. hahaha ALL have yet to do SHIT in the NFL!
Ryan Leaf was the number 2 draft pick....Peyton was the 1st draft pick by the colts....ryan was suppoosed to be better....lol....also linart wasnt top 10
Wow, apparently you didn't watch the game where Reggie Busch returned two punts for TDs and should have returned a third one for a TD. No, Reggie hasn't done it as a RB, but neither has Devin Hester...both did find their place as a kick returner and he's been VERY good at it...hardly a "bust".
Yeh, well Reggie Bush is STILL IN FOOTBALL and his returns wasn't just ONE GAME moron. He is still a valid kick returner. His career isn't over either.
By the way dumbshit, Reggie Bush lead the NFL in non-offensive TD's (and not all were in one game as some morons want to think). He was also 10th in PR yards, though he wasn't in the top 10 in PRs. He was first in PR TD's. He was THIRD in highest PR average. He's been very successful as a returner and had over 1300 yards rushing/receiving last year. Yu're a fucking moron. That's HARDLY a "bust". No, he didn't lead the league in rushing, but he's a recving back. U R A MORON
Reggie Bush was one of the best punt returners in the pros this year so calling him a bust is a stretch. Brian Boswoth was a roided up punk who NEVER matured into anything because his body fell apart from the same shit that got him there, the drugs...I think it's time you found you a new hero and cut that mullet.
Loser, he isn't just "decent" as a punt returner. He returned 3 TDs and had the 3rd highest PR average. Devin Hester is ONLY good as a kick returner, so is HE a bust? I never said he was worthy yet of his #2 pick, but his career has just begun and he's not done bad for what he has done yet....your boyfriend Boz didn't do SHIT and he was the #1 pick in the supplemental draft.
nope. hes a bust. and Boz was first pick in the SUPPLEMENTAL draft. not the ACTUAL draft. meaning New Orleans blew a number two pick on a MEDIOCRE punt returner. 3 returned for TD's? that doesnt balance out him being the number 3 pick dude. Boz did more in his career than Reggie Bush has so far. and he spent just as much time in the league as Bush has so far. Therefore REGGIE BUSH=BUST
1. Conspiracy theories are for the weak-minded to invent something that they can't prove.
2. Ryan Leaf and Bosworth were BOTH busts and to argue whether one or the other was more of a bust is like arguing which retard took the gold in the special olympics.
3. That's worse because now you're announcing OTHERS' opinions and anyone who actually watched his home games laughed at his home crowd booing him, so that's BS.
2. That's an opinion and mine and many others differ. At least Leaf didn't roid up.
3.Again, not only an opinion, but now you're epaking for thousands of others...I watched games and saw them BOO HIM ALL THE TIME, so that doesn't support that weak argument.
4. Well you sound as if you do...if you don't, stop supporting losers that do.
Most of those highlights came from the preseason or early in the year (the Denver game was the first game of the season.) It was the 4th game (Cincinnati) where he was finally exposed. Sam Wyche bragged afterwards, (after Boz missed a lot of tackles) "We studied the film on him & realized that, although he has incredible lateral movement, you could run right at him." Which is what they did, Boz couldn't tackle anyone straight on, he had to run at them from the side & knock em over w/ his body.
Im a Hawkfan, lived thru those years, here's the story: BB's shoulders were arthritic (from steriods) & totally useless. When he underwent a physical at the end of the year, the doctor described his shoulders as those 'of a 50 year old.' He joined the supplemental draft b/c it did not require a physical, where his ailment would be discovered. The Seahawks had the misfortune of having their # come up for the first selection.
"Bust" is a stretch, and an unfair assessment. Didn't I just hear that he was drafted through the "supplemental draft?" So it's not the team blew a first round pick on him. I'm an Eagles fan - and we know a lot about wasting first round picks in this town. Boz is okay in my book - beyond all the hooplah seems like a nice guy.
Lol, I was at that Denver game and I was wearing a boz buster T-shirt. I remember when Boz hit Elway and then pointed at him while he was down, that fired up the crowd and the Broncos. Seattle led 17-7 in the first half before Denver exploded with 34 un-answered points enroute to a 41-17 victory.
He was drafted in the supplemental draft so how could he be a bust?

Bo got tackled, he just fell forward into the endzone. One sngle play shouldnt define a career
murat8080 2 years ago 5
I looked up the incident because you are right about the one play approach.
However, what made that play memorable was because Boz had guaranteed the Seahawks would contain Bo Jackson during that game. Bo ran for 221 yards and 3 tds.
Him pounding through Boz on the goal line was just the icing on the cake. I guess they didn't have time to include it in the clip, but that's why Boz was remembered that way. He made a Joe Namath 'guarantee' and he failed.
Coganboy 2 years ago
@murat8080 falling underneath someone after getting trucked is not a tackle idiot. that counts as someone getting run over, lol at the two people that gave you a thumbs up. probably bosworth groupies that dont know shit about football and form tackling.

65slick 2 years ago
The steroids at OU were administered by an MD. It was later determined that he had done nothing wrong and should have been allowed to play in the Orange Bowl. I'll bet that you would say none of these things to him. He would not fail at kicking your ass.
Pappyof7 2 years ago 3
Of course I wouldn't. He clearly has issues with drugs and alchohol. Losers like him tend to be mentally unstable, and prone to violent outbursts.

He tackled bo you retard. Bo just managed to grinbd out a yard more before falling down.
murat8080 2 years ago 2

He's on the "bust list" simply because he was a cocksucker to everyone OFF the field and they wanted to see him fail.
takedown998 2 years ago
So if allllllllllll this is true, why is he still listed on all the NFL Busts lists? Do the Seattle fans who embraced him agree or disagree? What about his coaches and teammates? The players and coaches who played against him? Why has nobody asked the people who would really know?
karhill 2 years ago
It's not only completely inaccurate, but flat out unfair to label Brian Bosworth as a bust!!!!
He had great speed, power, athleticism and made lots of tackles and plays for Seattle. He worked hard, played hurt and was a tough player. Unfortunately, his career was cut short by accumulative injuries. Check out some of his game tapes by rbg631. Thanks for the bosworth game footage and for helping dispell the myth of bosworth being a bust.
cream11 2 years ago 3
I couldn't agree with you more on your statements about Boz. The Media made a circus act with him but true Seattle Fans embraced him!
oceanking18 2 years ago
Totally bogus as the #3bust...he was a decent player and put up some respectable numbers, especially when considering his injury troubles (like that was his fault...probably the only reason he didn't last). He didn't produce as expected for the hype surrounding hime, but what he did was by no means a bust. Too much garbage from reporters and football people who didn't like him as a person, rather than an objective look at his shortened career
elijah5674 2 years ago
- Probably greatest College Linebacker.
- Smart guy.
People who think this is a highlight have never played football.
madjohne 2 years ago 27
I agree. Not to mention Bo did not truck him, Bo picked a shoulder. If he would have ran him over he would have went through his whole body not one side of it.. Shit if it was not at the goaline it would have been a 2 yard game. people just wanna hate on THE BOZ. The hell with them ... SOONER DDDDDDDDDDDD
ac241000e 2 years ago 2
True. This was a 2-yard gain. If it's not on the goaline, its' a BOZWORTH highlight!
madjohne 2 years ago 2
@madjohne My man i agree 100% with you about bozworth,he was shedding a block then tried to tackle bo at the 1yd line. bo was comming at him with speed and levridge and boz was shedding a block and was flat footed. Any one was getting pushed back and to boot Bo was a hell of a rb,he wasnt no sloutch him self.ppl dont know what ther talking about.
angelostallone 1 year ago
@angelostallone that wasn't the point. that play was most popular in his career because he said he was going to contain bo but bo rand for like 221 yards and 3 td's and that video pretty much was the end of his career as everything went downhill from there. the play wasn't that great but for the people who lived through it and saw it live, they know it meant a LOT. to us, seeing it years after it happened, it doesn't seem to have any significance because it's a new generation.
douchiedude 1 year ago
@madjohne

Derieuxballer50 2 years ago 5
People like Ray Lewis, everyone hated Boz. So that makes a difference in court of public opinion. People forgot that EVERY middle linebacker has gotten ran over hard at some point in their career. Boz was an asshole that everyone loved to hate, so when Bo scored on him (NOT ran him over), the idiots and faggot sportswriters jumped all over that.

I agree. Bo Jackson just got lower because he was quicker than Brian Bosworth and this made it difficult for Bosworth to tackle him. This kind of stuff happens in every game.

Brian Bozworth and Bo Jackson, that just sucks, it's obvious that momentum carried Bo into the endzone, and people make it seem like he was run over!

floridapoolgod 2 years ago 2
No. but unlike you were just not ignorant and giving false labels to a guy who's career was cut short by injuries. calling him a bust is just ignorant dude. he was plenty good in his first 2 years. the 3rd year was when his injuries just started to catch up with him.

rafers1991 1 year ago
reggie bush is still playing so time will tell how he finishes his career. boz was on his way to a good maybe great NFL career but we will never know. so please quit talking about the steroids, it's just like the Bo Jackson play, blown way out of poportion. Boz used steroids to rehab an injury, the steroids he used wasn't for perfomance, it was to heal his inuries faster.
rbg631 3 years ago
You are delusional. He got busted for steroid use in college that had NOTHING to do with his injuries.
Swamprat407 3 years ago
HIs body failed him? Duh, that's what happens when you steroid your body up loser! Your body gave out because it did'nt have the drugs to pump it up and hold it together in the NFL..the guy was kicked off the Sooners for popping on Roids...I don't get how people respected him AT ALL.
dougnhouston 3 years ago
Thanks for Uploading this. Brian Bosworth is my Idol. It's too sad that the most People calling him a Bust, arrogant or condemned him because of steroid use. The Arrogant was a part of "The Boz" but not of Brian Bosworth. I think most People hate him because he is a Person who is real, who have his own opinion and to speak his mind. For me Brian Bosworth was a great Linebacker and a real Person!
Bozworth81 3 years ago
He was by far NOT a great linebacker (as you can see by his NFL stats) and he would have been NOTHING in college without steroids.
dougnhouston 3 years ago
dude most athletes have used stereoids at some point. hell bill romanowski for one. linebackers are supposed ot be crazy fuckin asshle pricks that will beat your face in. but seriously dude. he didnt cheat he just did what everyone else did in colledge
Goratory666 3 years ago
Don't say most because that insinuates more than half and more than half do not. It doesn't matter how many do...it is still wrong regardless. It is cheating regardless and if they all did it, they all would have popped on the test...they didnt', he did and was kicked out for it for a reason..so no, not everybody does, sorry. He's fucking cheater and so was Bill Romanowski...no matter what they did in "college" (not colledge - I'm guessing you do not go to one).

no disrespect dongenarosdog but you're off on some of your comments.first, boz never played cincinnati so wyche would've not made those comments. boz would have played them in the 88 playoff game but was done for the year.but seattle could've used him as the bengals ran all over them.remember boz was leading the team in tackles until he went down. also in 87he was 2nd in tackles so please don't say he could not tackle.boz was hurt 4 games into the 88 season yet he still played 6 more games.
rbg631 3 years ago
rbg631, don't even bother waste your time responding to such ridiculous comments. All of this with two banged up shoulders!!
fit4eeeva 3 years ago
That's funny you say this because I get to the end and you say "all of this with two banged up shoulders"....which were caused by HIS drug use...he wouldn't have gotten to where he was without it, so why is this even an argument? This is the same reason prolific HR hitters are being shunned from the HOF in baseball.
floridapoolgod 3 years ago
No disrespect back at ya, rbg631. I thought it was Wyche, I know I read it in the Seattle Times. But I watched every one of those games, and his play was unimpressive, to say the least. Like I wrote, he used his speed to bowl over the ball-carrier. Yes, he'd be the first person to the ball, but he needed help to bring 'em down. For each one of his tackles, he let another go by. I can't recall a _single game_ where he made the difference between victory & defeat.
DonGenarosDog 3 years ago
The rest of the country followed suit. Although Seattle made the playoffs (they were still a very talented team), the Boz contributed very little. Chuck Knox gave 'em every chance, tho-- fans were calling to bench him. He was terrible & he COULD NOT tackle. The fans started calling him "Flipper" because he'd just wave his arms around & not do anything w/ 'em.
I like the one guy on this clip who speaks up for Boz: Matt Millen! The guy in football w/ the worst record in assessing talent! lol...
DonGenarosDog 3 years ago
okay this is how i KNOW you're an idiot:
1)Brian Bosworth was just about the ONLY decent player on that Seahawks team
2)If he was such a "flipper" then why was he 2nd on the team in tackles??
3)The fans were NEVER calling to bench him because the Seattle fans loved him
4)Boz RARELY missed a tackle
rowdyrob06 3 years ago
You know, the failure of Boz's career isn't something I made up, it isn't a "conspiracy of the media," it's simply a proven fact. No matter how great he was in college, he couldn't play at the NFL level, because of his arthritic shoulders (brought on by steriod use.)
1) This proves you don't know what you're talking about.
2) He should of been first. And he never once was the difference in a game, unlike LT, a real LB.
3) Very few Hawks fans liked him.
4) No. No, he didn't. I watched the games.
DonGenarosDog 3 years ago
1)yes i do know what im talking about. and it kind of IS a conspiracy of the media because they didn't like his arrogant attitude and they were just looking for a reason to call him out
2)no Ryan Leaf is the biggest bust and NOBODY can argue that. and yea everyone knows LT was a great LB. but this isn't about who we think the best was, its about the fact that The Boz wasnt a flop
3)Hawks fans LOVED him and you'd be nuts to think otherwise
4)and Boz rarely missed a tackle that is a fact
rowdyrob06 3 years ago
O_o I never said he didn't have talent. He had lots of it. He used too many 'roids, it gave him advanced arthritis in his shoulders, his career didn't last two years. End of story. He wasn't even the biggest bust for the Seahawks (that title goes to McGwire). And where are you from, Kent? The Hawks fans I know & hang around love a winner. Boz was not a winner. The '87 team had Largent, Jacob Green, John L, why carry a torch for Boz?
4) I wish that were true, I really do.
DonGenarosDog 3 years ago
DonGenarosDog, a guy that made 163 tackles in just 22 games can't tackle?! Your a MORON!! No difference maker? How about AFC player of the week after recovering two fumbles, one in which he returned 38 yards for 34-21 victory over Chicago!! Not a winner?? Show me where he ever dogged it on the field. LT, yeah he's a winner. He played his entire career on crack cocaine, with a bunch of arrests, shouldn't have even been allowed in the Hall. Meanwhile, Boz saves somebody's life. Your a troll!!
fit4eeeva 3 years ago
The number of tackles never defined how good someone was/is. In fact, if someone is making a bunch of tackles, look at that team...you'll see their D-fense is on the field a lot meaning they suck...and yes, i'm speaking of the Seahawks at that time. To ME, all roid users are losers, but to see him get kicked off his college team and the NFL welcome him with open arms after it was MENACING...I'm glad to see his career cut short and wish he had to pay back the unearned money.
floridapoolgod 3 years ago
looks like ur high. a lot of tackles=good. clearly you dont know football. and quit hating just cause he got paid
rowdyrob06 3 years ago
ROFL...clearly YOU my friend are clueless about football AND logic....which should tell you that if a team is making so many more tackles than another team...their DEFENSE IS ON THE FIELD MORE meaning the other team is scoring on them. Go actually research instead of being an idiot and come back and tell me why the lower end teams lead the league in tackles. Off with you until you know something.
floridapoolgod 3 years ago
I'll show you right now how "smart" you are nimrod...the Detroit Lions lead the NFL in tackles this year...hmmmm...great team huh? They'll be picking FIRST in the draft. So that makes them good according to you right? DUMBASS. Stop being a roid lover.
floridapoolgod 3 years ago 2
Rowdyrobb06, I have to disagree with you on one thing. How about Reggie Bush as the biggest bust!! Here's a guy who came out of college as the greatest football player EVER!! EVER!! What has he done in the pro's?? But you won't hear anything in the media because it's politically incorrect to attack someone like Bush, but it's safe to go after someone like Boz. Look at those highlights, every announcer praises Boz and compliment on his skills on the field. You never hear he is a disappointment.
fit4eeeva 3 years ago
Yea i totally agree that Reggie Bush is a HUGE bust! and you're totally right, he hasnt done shit. but if you remember all the hype that came with Ryan Leaf he was supposed to be the next Joe Montana or Terry Bradshaw. He was the No.1 overall pick in that draft and he lasted only about 3 years in the league lol. but yea i would put Reggie Bush as no.2. but that whole draft class sucked. in the top 10 you have Reggie Bush, Vince Young, and Matt Leinhart. hahaha ALL have yet to do SHIT in the NFL!
rowdyrob06 3 years ago
Ryan Leaf was the number 2 draft pick....Peyton was the 1st draft pick by the colts....ryan was suppoosed to be better....lol....also linart wasnt top 10
coltsfan883 2 years ago
Wow, apparently you didn't watch the game where Reggie Busch returned two punts for TDs and should have returned a third one for a TD. No, Reggie hasn't done it as a RB, but neither has Devin Hester...both did find their place as a kick returner and he's been VERY good at it...hardly a "bust".
floridapoolgod 3 years ago
hes a bust. you're talking about ONE GAME. reggie bush was picked top 3. hes a BUST cause he hasn't dont SHIT
rowdyrob06 3 years ago
Yeh, well Reggie Bush is STILL IN FOOTBALL and his returns wasn't just ONE GAME moron. He is still a valid kick returner. His career isn't over either.
floridapoolgod 3 years ago
By the way dumbshit, Reggie Bush lead the NFL in non-offensive TD's (and not all were in one game as some morons want to think). He was also 10th in PR yards, though he wasn't in the top 10 in PRs. He was first in PR TD's. He was THIRD in highest PR average. He's been very successful as a returner and had over 1300 yards rushing/receiving last year. Yu're a fucking moron. That's HARDLY a "bust". No, he didn't lead the league in rushing, but he's a recving back. U R A MORON
floridapoolgod 3 years ago 2
Reggie Bush was one of the best punt returners in the pros this year so calling him a bust is a stretch. Brian Boswoth was a roided up punk who NEVER matured into anything because his body fell apart from the same shit that got him there, the drugs...I think it's time you found you a new hero and cut that mullet.
dougnhouston 3 years ago 2
nah dude he rocked. reggie bush is a bust dude. so he is DECENT as a punt returner. is that what he was drafted NUMBER TWO OVERALL for?!?! nope.
bust
rowdyrob06 3 years ago
Loser, he isn't just "decent" as a punt returner. He returned 3 TDs and had the 3rd highest PR average. Devin Hester is ONLY good as a kick returner, so is HE a bust? I never said he was worthy yet of his #2 pick, but his career has just begun and he's not done bad for what he has done yet....your boyfriend Boz didn't do SHIT and he was the #1 pick in the supplemental draft.
Swamprat407 3 years ago
nope. hes a bust. and Boz was first pick in the SUPPLEMENTAL draft. not the ACTUAL draft. meaning New Orleans blew a number two pick on a MEDIOCRE punt returner. 3 returned for TD's? that doesnt balance out him being the number 3 pick dude. Boz did more in his career than Reggie Bush has so far. and he spent just as much time in the league as Bush has so far. Therefore REGGIE BUSH=BUST
rowdyrob06 2 years ago
You seriously have lost your fucking mind.
4. U R FUCKING HIGH

DonGenarosDog 3 years ago
Im a Hawkfan, lived thru those years, here's the story: BB's shoulders were arthritic (from steriods) & totally useless. When he underwent a physical at the end of the year, the doctor described his shoulders as those 'of a 50 year old.' He joined the supplemental draft b/c it did not require a physical, where his ailment would be discovered. The Seahawks had the misfortune of having their # come up for the first selection.
DonGenarosDog 3 years ago
"Bust" is a stretch, and an unfair assessment. Didn't I just hear that he was drafted through the "supplemental draft?" So it's not the team blew a first round pick on him. I'm an Eagles fan - and we know a lot about wasting first round picks in this town. Boz is okay in my book - beyond all the hooplah seems like a nice guy.
